Merry Sporkmas

A few weeks ago, I loaded up my town briefly and I saw that Weber had moved out. His replacement was Jeremiah, but he was sleeping when I went to his house to meet him. Fast forward to today (December 23rd), and Jeremiah has also moved away.

Of course, snow now covers the ground and many cedar trees and regular trees are now decorated with festive Christmas lights. Here’s a GIF showing some decorated trees next to Nookington’s.

“The lights put you in a shopping mood, yes yes?”
-Tom Nook, probably

Candi offered me a free gift, but I only had one space free in my inventory, so I turned it down. That annoyed her a bit, though not as much as I was expecting. 😂

Candi: Well, whatever.

Belle told me she bought a Master Sword, but it didn’t match her furniture. So she was looking to trade it!

Belle: I bought a Master Sword the other day, but it didn't go with any of my stuff!

But guess what she wanted in return…my toilet! Haha, it’s a deal!

Belle: So, I've been thinking... You've got a toilet, right?
Yes, and the seat is still warm.

I met Jeremiah’s replacement, Spork the pig. He’s not exactly the cutest animal around, but he seems okay.

Spork: Oh! Before I do, I guess I ought to introduce myself, snork!

Today is Toy Day, but Tortimer was nowhere to be found at the wishing well. It was 6:40 p.m. though, so maybe I was too late in the day? I hate how Tortimer doesn’t stick around long on holidays in this game. Of course he wouldn’t have given me another toy car anyway, but I was still hoping to speak with him.

But even if Tortimer wasn’t at the wishing well, Baabara was…and she seemed to be in a giving mood. She offered me a strange painting if I got her trivia question correct.

Baabara: I'll give you a strange painting if you get it right, daahling! So here's my question.

But even after I guessed correctly, she suddenly “couldn’t find” the painting to give me. So I got no reward at all. She’s lucky I didn’t have any pitfalls with me.

Baabara: You're right! Here's that prize I promised...
Baabara: ...I-It's not here! Oh, nooo! I must've dropped it somewhere...

At least my good buddy Hank was there to balance things out. He gave me a free refrigerator. Pretty cool. 😉

Hank: What a great day! Here, for being so honest, you can have this for free! I'm so jolly right now!

Here are a few other quick notes:

  • Genji gave me a pear (foreign fruit) in exchange for a barbel steed.
  • Static painted my roof black, but it’s covered in snow so I can’t even tell.
  • The daily glowing spot yielded 10,000 bells instead of the usual 1,000. Nice!
  • Puck told me he figured out why it’s been snowing lately. The reason? It’s winter. 🙄

I’ve posted two Animal Crossing GameCube videos since my last blog entry, so check them out if you haven’t seen them yet. First up is a look at five things about the game that I hate.

And the other one is GameCube Moments #14, showing some funny and interesting things that have happened in my towns over the past few months:

Have a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and happy holidays all around! I’ll see you next time…never stop crossing! 🙂
