Doing Favors

I played last Wednesday, and I found Eloise’s goodbye letter in the mail. Her replacement is Freya the snooty wolf. Like most (if not all) new villagers I get, Freya has lived in Forest before…back in 2014.

Freya: Oh, good evening to you. Tell me... Do I know you, uff da?

I tested out the ordering system, and I quickly discovered that the GameCube game (much like New Horizons) has a limit of five items you can order at a time. The difference is that I believe the count resets after the mail is delivered, so you can potentially order more than five items per day as long as you play before 5 p.m.

Yesterday, Maple told me that she finds it hard to sense the flow of time when she’s indoors. That could also apply to the past year or so in general. 😛

Maple: It's kind of strange, but I find it hard to sense the flow of time while I'm indoors, honey...
But can you sense the flow of honey?

Freya had a suggestion for me: She said I could make her dinner every day! I don’t think so, but nice try.

Freya: That way, I don't have to think about it anymore! You'll do all the planning and cooking and cleaning!
I howled with laughter at her suggestion. 😛

I asked around for jobs, and I completed a couple of them. But several others ended in dead ends because Maple and Sydney were already in bed.

So I continued where I left off today. I made two deliveries to Maple, and she rewarded me with a modern wall and a rally shirt.

I then headed to Sydney’s house, where I was trying to pick up Candi’s Pokemon Pikachu. However, Sydney told me that Patty forcibly took it from her! Fortunately, Patty still had it and she handed it over to me. I returned it to Candi, and she gave me a white boom box for my trouble.

But I then made the mistake of asking Candi for another favor. She told me that Emerald borrowed her watch and never returned it. Candi was pretty steamed.

Candi: It really steams my broccoli!

It was almost 9:00, so I rushed over to Emerald’s house as fast as I could. I got through the door, and then the hourly chime rang. So even though I got in the door, but there was a problem: Emerald wasn’t in here! When I left and checked the door, it said she was sleeping. She must be sleeping somewhere else then. 😛

I decided to ask for more favors, and Kody asked me to catch a fish for him. I caught a barbel steed, and he seemed very surprised that I was capable of catching a fish.

Kody: What! You caught a fish!?! Great jumping jackrabbits!

He rewarded me with a “dope” lawn chair. 😛

Kody: Here, you gotta take this dope lawn chair!

For my next job, Genji asked me to plant some flowers around his house. I bought all five packs of flower seeds at Nookington’s, and planted them near Genji’s house. When I told him the task was complete, he told me that he practically buried his sweetie in blooms!

Genji: Thanks a ton for helping me plant flowers, Jeff! I practically buried my sweetie in blooms!

Yikes! I never knew Genji was a murderer! Maybe I should be more careful about what jobs I accept. I could be helping cover up a crime. You never know what’s buried down the rabbit hole.

See you all next time. Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

  1. Reminds me of when I was playing new horizons and I decided to enter able sisters at 8:59 PM. One minute before it closed and while It was loading i guess the bell rang and i was inside able sisters After closing time?! It was weird cause i could talk to Mabel and sable and they werent trying to kick me out of anything? I didnt try to buy anything but I left and it said it was closed..wanna recreate it again someday.

    1. Yeah, I’ve noticed that before, throughout the series. The Able Sisters don’t rush you, and they let you finish shopping. While Tom Nook (and the Nooklings) kick you out right away.
