Snooty History Repeats

I played briefly on April 19th, and I learned that Snooty has replaced Velma in town. Snooty last lived in Forest ten years ago.

Snooty: Oh, no! Not another fan, sniffff! Curse my movie star looks and winning personality!

I did some favors for villagers, and failed at some others (mainly because some villagers go to bed so early).

Static: I have it back already, so don't you worry about it. Of course, you never cared in the first place, so whatever.

And I kind of ignored the requests for letters. I don’t like writing letters in this game. 😛

Genji: I mean, I'm sure I told you this before, but it's a pain! And, somebody once told me my grammar weren't good.

I played again today, and Snooty has already moved away. In her place, I met Mallary the duck.

Mallary: Oh, my! Have we met before, quackpth? I'm almost positive the answer is no.
I’m positive you’re wrong.

So I searched this blog to see if/when Mallary lived in town before, and she did in 2011. But the interesting part is that on December 17, 2011, Mallary replaced Snooty in town…just like she did today! I had something similar happen last year, when Cupcake replaced Queenie for the 2nd time. Very odd.

I’m starting to wonder if this type of thing isn’t as rare as you’d assume. Like maybe the game has some sort of preference for villager sequences? Because honestly, most people wouldn’t even notice if this happened twice, 7-10 years apart. I wouldn’t have noticed either, if not for my blog documenting comings and goings.

Anyway, I was surprised to see fireflies out already when I walked by the lake.

Fireflies at the lake on May 30th.

I’m used to them appearing in June throughout the series, but the GameCube game kinda has fuzzy borders to the bug/fish seasons (if you know what I mean). So you may see something a few days earlier or later than you’d expect: They don’t start right at midnight on the first of the month, in other words.

As for all the favors I was doing last month, I was doing it for this video that shows the exclusive favors in each Animal Crossing game. It includes several from the GameCube game, so please give it a look if you haven’t seen it yet!

See you all next time! Never Stop Crossing! 🙂
