Jeff the Fruit Smuggler?

I got some good news in the mail today: Tabby has left town! 🙂

Guess what, Jeff! I realize this is a little cuckoo, but I've decided to move. Have I lost it? No!!! I've just got to try to get a fresh start. I don't even know where I'm going yet! See ya! -Tabby

When I ran into Genji, he reminded me that the fishing tourney is coming up soon. Actually, a bunch of fishing tourneys are coming up: One is held every Sunday in June. (The same thing happens in November, too.)

Genji: Once we get into June, there's gonna be a fishing tourney each and every Sunday, Jeff.

Puck was also talking about the tournament, and he warned me that he views me as a rival until he wins.

Puck: Just so you know, until I win that fishing tourney, you and I are rivals!

Carmen was nagging me about paying back my debt to Tom Nook. She even called me a burden to society! 😮

Carmen: You seem to be a little touchy, Jeff! I guess you're still just a burden on society!

Time to go buy a mousetrap.

I found Gulliver washed up on the beach, and he gave me a Chinese lion.

Gulliver: Yawn... What a great nap! What!? It's 2022?

I visited Tom, and he wondered where I had been lately. So naturally, he assumed that I got arrested for smuggling exotic fruit. 😂

Tom: In fact, I had convinced myself that you'd gotten busted for smuggling exotic fruits, okey-dokey.

That actually reminded me of New Leaf, when Squishy used to bring her oranges to my town to sell them for a better price. I joked that she was smuggling oranges. 🍊

In the southwest part of town, I found Tabby’s replacement: It was Rio! She’s my favorite ostrich, and I almost added her to my New Horizons island recently. But I’m glad I got her here!

Rio: My name's Rio. So, like, what's yours?

Unfortunately, she didn’t wait long to ask about my Chinese lion…under the guise of recycling.

Rio: It's very important to recycle! You can't throw something away just because you don't need it anymore!
Rio: I see that you're not using your Chinese lion, li'l chick.

She wanted to trade it for a rose wall. Even though I didn’t want to stick my neck out, I declined the offer. But still, I hope Rio stays in town a while.

Tabby Trouble

Yesterday, I received a goodbye letter from Truffles the pig. I was as happy as a pig in mud to see her leave. 😛

To Jeff, I'm leaving town, and I'm not telling anyone where I'm going, but don't you worry! I'm off on a grand adventure that's totally going to rule! Wish me luck in my new life. Don't forget me! -Truffles!

But the good vibes ended quickly when I saw who replaced Truffles. It was Tabby!

Tabby: What? Why am I telling you my name?

April has not been kind to my Animal Crossing towns in terms of new villagers. I got Tabby in this game, Marcel in City Folk, and Beardo in New Horizons. Yikes.

Tabby, Marcel, and Beardo.

If there’s any consolation, it’s that Tabby probably won’t stick around very long. 🤞

When I spoke to Genji, he said that all the trees in town are filled with happiness and sunshine. I think he’s been watching too much Bob Ross lately. 😂

Genji: I'm thinking all the trees in Forest are filled with happiness at the sunshine, okey-dokey!

At Nookington’s, I bought a paw shirt…and nine other items. Actually I just wanted some raffle tickets. Then today, I returned to use those raffle tickets. Tom Nook had some good prizes, especially that Arwing!

Tom Nook's raffle prizes for April 2022.

One of my entries was a blue ball, so I won a samurai suit. Even though I don’t necessarily need the prizes, it’s fun to participate (and especially win) the raffles once in a while. 🙂

A treasure hunt was also underway, and I found the prize: a frog woman pole. 🐸👩💈

Check it out! I dug up a frog woman pole!

Tabby twice tried to sell me turnips she didn’t really have, but I didn’t fall for her tricks.

Tabby: Hey, guess what? I've started selling turnips under the table.
Not exactly the most trustworthy face.

See you all next time! Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

Trouble with Truffles

I received a goodbye letter in the mail today: Pippy has squeaked out of town.

Guess what, Jeff! I realize this is a little cuckoo, but I've decided to move. Have I lost it? No!!! I've just got to try to get a fresh start. I don't even know where I'm going yet! See ya! -Pippy

I quickly found her replacement just one acre to the south: It’s Truffles the pig. I’m not a fan of pig villagers in general, and Truffles is one the uglier pigs in the series. Well, at least she probably won’t stick around long.

Truffles: Good evening! You seem kinda lost to me... Do you live in this town, snoutie?
I must be lost, if I decided to speak to you. 😛

When I visited Carmen, she had some really mean things to say about Gracie (who is supposed to visit town soon). She even said Gracie has a face like a horse!

Carmen, talking about Gracie: She has quite the forked tongue and a face sort of like a horse!

This is some dialogue that I did not include in my recent Villagers Insulting Special Characters video. Well, maybe I’ll make a Part 2 someday.

Ursala told me that she was planning on going on a picnic with her boyfriend next week.

Ursala: I'm thinking about going on a picnic with my boyfriend next week...

She wanted to know if muffins and apple juice were a good combination. Sounds good to me!

Genji asked if I wanted to be the manager of his tumbling team, and I turned down the offer. He said maybe tumbling isn’t very popular, but he put an extra space in between the words “isn’t” and “very.” Not a big deal of course, but I noticed it. 😛

Genji: Hmm, I guess tumbling isn't very popular... Watching it is such a blast...

Puck was looking forward to the Cherry Blossom Festival coming up in early April. I usually check it out each year, since it is a 3-day event (unlike most events in the game). So perhaps I will again. 🌸

Puck: I can't wait to go down to the wishing well plaza for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, brrrrrrrrr!

I didn’t get to speak to Emerald or Sydney tonight, because they were already in bed by 9 p.m.

Have a good day (or night), and I’ll see you all next time!
