Wisp & Mold

On Thursday, I quickly made my way over to Maple’s house. I asked her about Static’s picture book, and fortunately, she handed it over. When I took it back to Static, he rewarded me with 1,040 bells. I decided to post a video of the whole wild goose chase.

By the way, that’s not the video I mentioned working on last time. That video is coming along nicely, but it’s not done yet. It’s a bigger project. I’m hoping to have it done by this upcoming weekend, but we’ll see.

Late on Saturday night, I found Wisp in town. He asked me to find all five of his spirits, so that he won’t be punished by someone named Irontongue.

Wisp: Irontongue will punished me. Oh, and those punishments, they are harsh.
I’ll start looking for them lickety-split.

So I went around town, catching all the spirits I could find.

Catching a spirit in Animal Crossing for Nintendo GameCube.
Catching these will surely put Wisp in good spirits.

It took a while, but I eventually caught all five. Wisp rewarded me with a caterpillar tee. That was one of four Gracie-exclusive shirts that I still needed for my catalog! I didn’t realize Wisp would give out Gracie’s clothes!

Wisp: Thanks for waiting... I think I can give this caterpillar tee.
What a gracious gift!

I may have seen a ghost in Forest, but I saw something much scarier when I started up my 2nd town of Ohio.

Jambette: Oh! Where is my mind? Gee, I'm scatterbrained today! My name is Jambette.

Jambette was the newest resident in town. The other residents (at the time) were Cookie, Deena, Ursala, Chuck, Chico, Chief, Teddy, Yuka, Nate, Lulu, Freckles, Stella, Cleo, and Leopold. I say “at the time,” because I will be time-traveling in my Ohio town in order to get some footage of some things I need for my video. So the list of residents could be quite different by the time I’m done.

As for Jambette, she’s lucky that pitfalls are relatively rare in this game. I’d pitfall her plenty, if I could.

In Nook’s shop, Tom Nook told my character Scott that a moldy shirt was the height of fashion…according to Fauna magazine.

Tom Nook: That's a moldy shirt. It's the height of fashion, or so claims Fauna magazine.

I decided to have a little fun with that quote, so I made a mockup of Fauna’s latest magazine cover. 😉

Fauna Magazine: Mold is Gold! (Mockup cover)

I played in Forest again today. As I was asking villagers for jobs, Baabara told me that her boyfriend loves mounting insects.

Baabara: Did you know that my boyfriend likes mounting insects, daahling? You know, in display cases?
Oh, display cases. Thank you for clarifying.

Baabara: He likes mounting fish, too, but lately insects are his thing. Who knows why? Men are such odd brutes.

She was, in her own weird way, asking me to catch a bug for her boyfriend. So I found a common butterfly for her. She rewarded me by giving me her old dark stone. Uh, thanks.

Baabara: You can have my old dark stone.

I found a track model in the dump, so I put it in my basement. I’d like to fill a whole row of track models, so my train will appear to sit on a full track. I’ll need to rearrange some things to do that though. But that’s a project for another time.

At the wishing well, I watched Candi, Ursala, and Baabara play with a volleyball. I noticed that even when they’re angry or sad (from conversations with each other), they’ll still keep kicking the ball around! It’s like they’re not in the mood, but yet, they can’t resist!

That’s all for now, but I hope to see you again soon! Have a great day! 🙂

Busy Day for Roof Painters

As I started up the game today, I found Cube’s goodbye letter in the mail. Sad to see him go, but that’s how things go.

How ARE you, Jeff? Well now, I bet your bottom bell you didn't expect me to cut out and split town, huh? Nope, I shocked the world! I'm turning over a new leaf--see you on the flip side! -Laters, Cube

When I ran into Snake, he told me he painted my roof for me! I hate when animals do that, so I told him that was lame.

Snake: Hey, I was being nice! Maybe I should have painted it puke color or something...

I went home to look at my house, and it turns out that Snake painted my roof pink! Definitely not my favorite.

A pink roof on Jeff's house.

Since he just happened to be in acre B-4, I took advantage of the situation by using the bridge glitch to push him into the river! I then hit him with the net as well. He was ready to fight me…aside from being stuck in the river, that is. 😛

Snake: Hey, Jeff! You lookin' for a fight? Then quit hiding behind that net of yours and put up yer dukes!

I spotted a new house in town, so I checked it out. Pudge the bear cub was inside; he just moved into town. He’s okay, but not one of my favorites.

Pudge: Nice to mee... Whoops! I said that already, pudgy! Heh heh! Silly me! You got an extra brain on you?

When I ran into Baabara, she insisted that I should buy a new carpet from her…for 33,370 bells. I kindly told the rude sheep to go fluff herself.

Baabara: Well, care to buy a tartan rug or a manor wall for 33,370 bells?

Over by the wishing well, Hank told me that he painted my roof. Wow, twice in one day?? But since my roof was already a color I didn’t like, I didn’t mind that Hank painted over it. He painted it green, and I was okay with that.

Hank: I can't wait until you see it! I painted your roof bright green! That's the only color I had, buhk buhk.

I asked Static for a job, and he asked me to retrieve a picture book that he loaned to Ursala.

Static: I lent my picture book to Ursala some time ago, but now I need it back for...personal reasons.
Don’t ask, don’t tell.

I headed to Ursala’s house, but she told me she loaned the book to Snake. So I went to find Snake in the grass, and he told me Belle snaked it!

Snake: But Belle came by the other day and snaked it. I know I should have kept it. I was out of line. I'm sorry.

Belle wasn’t home, so I had to search for her. I eventually found her grazing near Candi’s house. And guess what? She lent it to Maple! I continued on to Maple’s house, only to find that Maple was sleeping! All that work, and I couldn’t even complete the task! 😛

Sign on Maple's house: Sleeping. Please come back another time.

On that note, I wrapped up my day in Forest. But I’m not putting away the GameCube game for the month just yet. I’m working on a new video, so I’ll be playing more in the coming days. Not only in Forest, but I’ll also be checking in on my second town of Ohio as well. I haven’t posted an update on my Ohio town in two years! So you can expect an extra blog entry (or two) in the next couple weeks. See you soon!

Cherry Blossom Festival 2018

Today was the first day of the Cherry Blossom Festival, so I headed down to the wishing well to check it out. Animals are eating, drinking, laughing, and dancing…as pink cherry blossoms fall from the sky.

The Cherry Blossom Festival in Animal Crossing.
Tortimer wasn’t here at the moment, but he showed up later.

Sydney and Hank sat at one table, Static and Candi sat at the other table, and Belle was the dancing freak this year. 😛

Hank: So how're you liking the festival so far? Hey, see that animal dancing like a freak over there, Jeff?

Belle: If you wanna dance, what you oughta do is check out some of the blossoms first.Belle: That'll make you all happy, and that will totally make you wanna shake your groove thang, in a tutu!

Static was having a good time, and Candi offered me some sandwiches.

Static: Ah, this is so much fun! Gaar har har har!

Candi: Wanna try some sandwiches?

In addition to the music at the festival, the regular hourly tunes are also jazzed up a bit. It’s definitely an enjoyable time of year to play the original Animal Crossing. 🙂

When I ran into Emerald, she was sad that she hasn’t been able to catch a snail yet. Poor froggy.

Emerald: What? Really? Because I just can't catch one single snail for the life of me!

Then, at the town garbage dump, I found myself a toilet! Why would someone put this here? Maybe they wanted to take a dump in the dump.

A toilet in the dump.

Sadly, Egbert has already moved out of town. But I met his replacement, and he’s pretty cool too. It’s Cube the penguin; I like how he wears a GameCube shirt.

Cube: Boy howdy! Do you live here in town, too, d-d-dude?

Genji asked me for a new catchphrase to replace “right here,” so I told him to say “on a bun.”

Genji: If you win, I'll give you one of my priceless collectables, on a bun.

I was chatting with Baabara on a bridge, and she asked me what I thought about Cube…as Cube was standing right behind me! Was she trying to get me in trouble? 😛 I told her Cube was a nice person.

Baabara: I was just seeing how likable Cube is. Soooo... how about Cube? Any feelings there?Close-up of Cube's eyes looking on.

I hope you all enjoy the festival! It runs through Saturday (April 7th), so check it out for yourself if you can. If you’d like to see an old video of the event, here’s one I recorded three years ago:
