Ungrateful Ankha

It seems that Kitt the kangaroo has already hopped out of town. I got her goodbye letter in the mail today. I’m a bit sad to see her go, but I’m not surprised. But hey, she sure used some fancy stationery!

Kitt's goodbye letter.

Puck was talking about Gracie, and he said she told him that his clothes were too small for him. He got offended, saying her clothes were even smaller on her.

Puck: It's so unfair. Her clothes were a LOT smaller than mine... They just looked better on her...

Near the bottom of the waterfall, I found a new house. Daisy the dog has moved in! I also have her in my New Leaf town.

Daisy: My name is Daisy. I hope I'll be seeing a lot more of you from now on!

Over by the river, Belle asked me if I liked her outfits. I decided to be nice for once and tell her yes. She then went on about how hard it is to look that great all the time, and she thanked me for recognizing her hotness. I rolled my eyes so hard at that.

Belle: Sometimes it's tough, looking this fine all the time. Way to recognize the hotness!

Then she offered to give me one of her dresses! Oh no, I’ve created a monster!

Belle: Oh, I know! If you like my dresses so much, I'll give you one.

Thankfully, she just gave me a shirt. An A shirt. I put it on, and then went down to the dock to take a trip out to the island. While there, Ankha asked me for an ivory piano. She said she’s emotionally crushed by her inability to find one.

Ankha: I've been looking for one for what seems like forever, but I haven't had any luck. I'm so emo

When I returned to the mainland, I quickly went up to Nookington’s and I ordered the piano for her.

I then continued my walk around town. I stopped in Tom’s house, and he said a little bird told him I had a rhythmoid. He offered me carpet or wallpaper for it; I chose wallpaper and he gave me an arched window.

Tom: A little bird told me you've got a rhythmoid... Hey, looks like you do!

Ursala was talking about Gracie’s “stunning” fashions and how she looks good in any outfit. But she said that a slouch like me could not do justice to Gracie’s designs! How rude! And she said it with a smile on her face, too. She’s lucky I didn’t have a pitfall on me.

Ursala: On the other hand, a total slouch like you simply could not do justice to her fabulous designs, grooomph.

Once I was done, I saved my game and then went back to the Wii menu. The clock on my Wii was still an hour slow since I never adjusted it when Daylight Saving Time started a few weeks back. But I fixed it now, and then started the game back up to see if my piano had arrived–it had.

I went back to the island, and Ankha immediately noticed the piano in my pockets. She gave me 2,920 bells for it–that was actually less than the 3,500 bells I paid for it. She then called me gullible…before “correcting” herself.

Ankha: Can I really, truly have it? Wow, you are sooo gullible... I mean NICE! So NICE!

I spoke to her again to see if she had anything else to say about it, but she didn’t. Instead, she started criticizing my town! She said it’s full of bugs and she hates it!

Ankha: Ugh! I really hate your town! The flowers and the trees... They all have those nasty little bugs all over them!!
Remind me to never do her a favor again.

After that, I returned home and ended my game for the night. But cherry blossom season is coming soon. See you next time!

Green Grass Returns

As I started up the game today, I saw that the snow has now melted and the grass is green once again! Unfortunately, the lack of snow on my house revealed my pink roof that Genji painted back in December. Ugh.

Green grass...and a pink roof.

I had a few valentines in the mail, and I also had a goodbye letter from Peaches. She rode off into the sunset.

Peaches' goodbye letter.

My villagers seemed to have an unusual interest in my gyroids today. Candi pointed out that I don’t seem to be using my mega dingloid.

Candi: I see that you're not using your mega dingloid, cuddles.
How would you know what I do with my mega dingloid?

She offered to give me a cabin wall for it, and I was okay with that. Later on, I ran into Candi again, and she wanted a tall harmonoid I had just dug up; she gave me a stone tile for that. But the best gyroid deal of the day came from Tom: He gave me 3,000 bells for a squelchoid!

Up at Nookington’s, I bought some green paint for my house. I would prefer blue, but anything is better than pink. So that should be done by the next time I play.

Near the top of my main ramp, there was a new house: Kitt the kangaroo has just moved in! She doesn’t remember, but she lived in this town a long time ago…probably back around 2003 or so. Wait, shouldn’t her joey have grown up by now?

Kitt: Do we know each other? I'm sorry if I don't remember you.

Hank’s Game Boy

Sadly, Savannah has moved out of town before I got the chance to meet her. I know, it’s my own fault for not playing the game frequently enough, but it’s still disappointing to see her go.

There was an igloo near Candi’s house, so I went inside and found Maple the bear cub. When I spoke to her, she took a liking to my ptera right wing (I got it in the mail from the Farway Museum). She wanted me to play a game, where I pick a card that has a price on it. She would then buy my wing for that price. I agreed, and I picked card #3. She ended up buying the wing for 1,230 bells–which was surely one of the middle prices.

Maple in an iglooI spoke with Hank over by Nookington’s, and I accidentally asked him for a job. He asked me to pick up his Game Boy from Belle. No problem, buhk buhk.

Hank: Get my Game Boy before I freak out!I met up with Static outside of his house. He told me he learned some things from Crazy Redd, and he decided to become a con man businessman too. So he told me he would list five items, and I would be required to buy one. Not cool. I was waiting for an item under 1,000 bells–but no item was priced that low. I ended up buying the fifth item, a conga drum, for 1,870 bells.

Fortunately, I had a pitfall in my pockets that I found earlier. I put it to good use.

Static in a pitfall.
Nice doing business with you.

I tracked down Belle, and not surprisingly, she did not have Hank’s Game Boy. She loaned it to Candi.

Belle calls me crazy for wanting a Game Boy.
She has no respect for the classics. So why did she borrow it in the first place?

I then went up to Candi’s house and she gave me the Game Boy. Often, these item-fetching quests go on a lot longer than this, so I was glad to get the Game Boy back. Too bad I can’t play it…

Candi returns the Game Boy.
Actually it is like you. But I guess you forgot that too.

Sydney was telling me how she likes to bury items in holes, and then later forgets where she buried them. She asked if I had the same problem, and I said no. But she took that as an insult somehow and got really mad at me. I felt like I didn’t deserve her anger, so I started pushing her around. She’s lucky I already used my pitfall on Static. She said I was passive-aggressive and she actually told me to get some therapy! 😀

Sydney: Get some therapy.
I like how I’m not even looking at her.

I found a new house in town, and Peaches the horse was inside. She got startled when she saw me entering her house. She even called me rude. As if there was another way to actually meet her.

Meeting Peaches.
No, it would be rude if I put a saddle on you and rode you all over town.

After a stop at the post office and the dump, I returned to Hank to give him his Game Boy. He said he didn’t have anything to give me, so he just gave me some money: 572 bells.

Hank: Thanks, rooster!

After that, I returned home and ended my game for the night. Even though my roof is technically still pink, it’s covered with snow so you can’t see it.

See you next time!
