I found a goodbye letter from Zoe the anteater in my mailbox today.

In Nookington’s, I decided to buy the moody blue shirt that was on sale for just 123 bells. It made me feel a little awkward though, changing my clothes with four eyes watching me…

This was my first time playing since the snow melted last month, so it was good to see all of the green grass again. I was also pleased when I saw my newest neighbor, Bea. I like dog villagers a lot, and I rarely seem to get them. Welcome to Forest, Bea! Try not to bark at me too much.

Unfortunately, Belle asked me to help her with a maze in the back of her Nintendo Power magazine. These things can be long and boring, because you have to keep choosing “left” or “right” until she gets through the maze. It only took me five attempts this time, but the mazes are one of my least-favorite “conversations” in any Animal Crossing game.

When I spoke with Tom, he tried to sell me a pear. He started out by lying, telling me they don’t even grow in this town. Even though they’re not the native fruit, there are still several pear trees in town. He expected me to pay 1,380 bells for one, and naturally, I declined. Of course, he got angry and called me a cheap, no-fruit-buying bum.

Over by the wishing well, Baabara told me she’s been having fun all day. She expected that news to make me happy. As if she’s the queen of the universe or something.

I had a lot of weeds to pull after not playing for five weeks, and I dug up quite a few fossils as well. After mailing away my fossils, I got to see Pete take off to deliver the mail. Unlike the newer games, where Pete just walks to deliver the mail, he actually flies on GameCube.

After that, I circled back around to my house and ended my game for the day.

I started up the game today and I received Curly’s goodbye letter in the mail. It’s sad to see this little piggy go wee wee wee all the way home.

Just one acre away, I found Curly’s replacement. And boy is he stinky. I mean, Stinky. He’s a cat with underwear on his head. He lives next door to Candi, in the same spot where Yuka once lived.

I talked to Static near the river, and he was ranting about K.K. Slider, the singing dog. He says that K.K. always ruins his mood. I don’t know how that could be true, since Static is usually in a bad mood anyway. By the way, I love the look on his face in this picture:

When I went up to Belle, she started repeating “12 weeks ago, 12 weeks ago.” She then asked if I knew what she was referring to.

Is that when your milk spoiled? Actually it’s the last time I talked to her. It’s udderly ridiculous that she thinks I care how often I speak to her. But she said she was so mad that she could SPIT. You spit on me, and the whole town will be eating hamburgers for the next two weeks.

At the top of the ramp, I found an igloo. Since the snow on the ground will be melting by Wednesday, this is the last time I’ll get to see an igloo this winter.

Puck was inside, and he wanted to play a guessing game with me. I had to guess the word he was thinking of, and I would get an ivy wall if I was correct. The three choices were a pear, a peach, and an apple. I guessed that he was thinking of an apple…and I was right! I was afraid he’d take all my money if I was wrong, but fortunately, I didn’t get to find out. But Puck was now convinced that I was psychic. He even said it was creepy being friends with a psychic. Thanks a lot, old friend.

Meanwhile, Genji was talking about the tropical island. He said he didn’t have a Game Boy Advance and a GameCube-GBA Link Cable, so he wouldn’t be able to visit the island…on his bum. Is it just me or does that catchphrase never get old?

Baabara was being her usual negative self, saying this town is such a bore. Meanwhile, in the background, Hank did something that angered Genji. Baabara hinted that she might move out, but that would be fine by me. Of course, I know it’s not going to happen.

I finished my walk around town and pulled all the weeds I could find (until the wishing well confirmed that my town was perfect once again). I stopped at the post office to mail some fossils away, and then headed for home. By the time I post again, spring will be here. I’m looking forward to seeing green grass again! I played the game very early this morning, just after midnight in fact. I checked my mail, and believe it or not, I was actually disappointed to find Jambette’s goodbye letter. The reason for my disappointment isn’t that I didn’t get a chance to meet her; it’s because I was planning on pitfalling her before she left town.

Quite a few of my villagers were already asleep for the night. But Genji was one that was awake. He was giving me some fishing tips, telling me to pull out my bobber once it goes underwater.

Even though Tom was wide awake and walking around outdoors, he threw a major fit when I went up to talk to him. I usually like Tom, but he was being a major jerk.

I was hoping to find Wisp–that’s the main reason I was playing after midnight–but there was no sign of him anywhere in town. And my newest neighbor (Jambette’s replacement) was already asleep, so I decided to end my game for the morning.

I picked it back up this evening and introduced myself to Zoe, the new anteater in town.

I decided to take a rare boat trip out to the tropical island, where it was raining quite hard tonight. I had a little chat with Ankha, who probably isn’t used to the rain. It’s good to see her every once in a while, though. I’m sure she gets very lonely living on the island by herself.

When I returned to the chilly mainland, Curly asked me for a new catchphrase to replace his previous one, “nyoink.” I told him to say “piggy” from now on.
