Making a Profit

It was cold and snowing today in Forest as I started up my game. After stopping at Nook’s, I made my way around town. Genji told me he was broke, and he asked me to buy his Mama bear for 570 bells. I thought I’d be nice for once and bought it from him.

Genji: Will you buy this Mama bear for 570 bells?I then spotted an igloo next to the river.

An igloo by the river.Static was inside, and I agreed to play a game with him. First, he took the Mama bear I bought from Genji.

Static: Gimme that Mama bear. That's right. Hand it over.He told me I had to guess if the number he was thinking of was more or less than five. If I guess right three times in a row, he’ll pay me 3,000 bells for it. I guessed the first time and got it right, but I was wrong on the second attempt. But surprisingly, he still gave me 1,830 bells for it. Nice!

I then went back outside and I saw a dig spot next to the Able Sisters’ shop. It was a scary painting!

Check it out! I dug up a scary painting!I then talked to Oxford. He saw my scary painting and offered to buy it for 3,000 bells. Sure!

Oxford: I'll give you 3,000 bells for it!Meanwhile, Baabara just went on and on about how much she loves the snow.

Baabara: I love skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowball fights, and snowman building!I saw Tortimer by the wishing well and he told me that he’s going on vacation. He wants me to turn on the lighthouse every night for a week until he gets back. But I don’t want to.

Tortimer: Wake up, whippersnapper! I'll explain it to you again.I’ve done the process many times before, and I don’t need any more lighthouse models. I already have four of them in my basement.

Anyway, I dug up four fossils today–but I didn’t have any stationery to mail them away. I even checked the lost & found and the dump. So I actually had to buy some paper from Nook. I hate doing that, but otherwise the fossils start piling up.

After mailing them away, I was freezing from running around outside for so long. So I retreated to my cozy upstairs room, where I warmed up quickly.

Standing in a fire-filled room.

They’re Not Marshmallows

I started up the game and got a goodbye letter from Rocco.

Rocco's goodbye letter.I also went to meet my new neighbor, Oxford.

Oxford: Why are you even talking to me, bully, eh?I ran into Puck, and he gave me some helpful advice about not eating igloos. Good thing he warned me!

Puck: Every winter, these huge marshmallowy things start popping up all over town.Puck: But they're not marshmallows! They're called igloos. So don't eat them!Puck: They're all cold and hard, and your tongue sticks to them.I also saw Static and went up to talk to him. I regretted it immediately. He again did his shopowner routine where he lists five items and forces me to buy one. He always does this to me!

Static: I'll tell you the names and prices of 5 pieces of furniture...I ended up buying a haz-mat barrel for 490 bells. I then made my way around town, and dug up four fossils. I saw Tom, and he’s apparently been turned into Saharah’s spambot.

Tom: Are you bonkers? Saharah's carpets are exotic and insanely rare!I then went to the post office to mail those fossils away. Phyllis was overjoyed.

Phyllis: Is that it? Or do you have some more?

Igloo Season

After stopping at Nook’s to sell some fossils I got back in the mail, I made my way around town. I talked to Static, who told me that he painted my roof black.

Static: I painted it black, like you told me to.Continuing on, I spotted an igloo. It’s the first one I’ve seen this winter.

First igloo of the season.Genji the rabbit was inside.

Genji: Hey! You were going to eat my chowder while I slept, weren't you!?I talked to him a few times, but he didn’t ask me to play one of his igloo games. That was fine with me, since I wasn’t in the mood to get ripped off anyway.

I then talked to Rocco, and he was complaining about Totakeke (better known as K.K. Slider or just K.K.).

Rocco: His music always really gets to me.I also talked to Hank, the green chicken. He’s a night owl like me.

Hank: I feel like I could stay up all night! Wah ha ha!I stopped in the police station to grab some free paper from Booker. I had a bunch of new fossils to mail away for identification.

Booker: Oh, that's felt paper. I think. Would that be yours? After a stop at the post office to mail those fossils, I pulled a few weeds and then headed for home.
