Harvest Festival

Today is the Harvest Festival (aka Thanksgiving) in Animal Crossing.

Everyone... The Harvest Festival is about to begin!Unfortunately, Chief has moved out of Forest.

Chief's goodbye letter.I then went to meet my new neighbor Gonzo. This game has something that City Folk doesn’t have: Male koalas.

Gonzo: It's a pleasure meeting you, mate!I then made my way to the wishing well area, where all the tables are set up for the holiday. Genji was in charge of guarding the forks and knives this year.

Genji: I don't know why, but the knives and forks disappear every dang year.Emerald and Hank sat at one table. Was it for greens only?

Emerald: Food tastes better when you share it with friends.Robin and Sydney sat at the other table.

Robin: I wonder who will be cooking the main course this year. After swiping the knife and fork, I started searching for Franklin the turkey. Animals around town will give you clues.

Puck: I just saw this weird guy in this row, so watch out.I found Franklin and gave him the knife/fork, and received some harvest furniture in return. I made several trips back and forth and got several pieces of harvest furniture.

Franklin: All I've got is this harvest chair, but I'd like you to have it.Franklin: Oh, it's just you. Now I'm imitatin' chickens. Oh, the shame...Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Officer’s Day

In my mailbox, I found a goodbye letter from Murphy. I just remembered that I never went back to meet him as his normal self; I only saw him with his Halloween mask on.

Murphy's goodbye letter. The fishing tournament was underway today. I didn’t participate, but I saw Puck and Candi fishing together at the lake.

Puck and Candi fishing at the lake.I saw Tortimer near the wishing well. Today is Officer’s Day (Veterans Day), so he was talking about the three “officers” of Forest: Copper, Booker, and himself.

Tortimer: Officer Copper... Lieutenant Booker... Mayor Tortimer...Tortimer: Just don't tell anyone I'm impersonating an officer. If it’s your first time meeting him on Officer’s Day, he will give you a police model. But of course I got mine years ago. Anyway, he also mentioned feeling safe when Officer Copper is around.

Tortimer: Copper is a K-9 tactical unit unto himself!I saw Hank, and he told me not to worry about the snow in winter…

Hank: I'll melt the snow with the body heat from a mad workout!I then went to meet my new neighbor, Chief. He also lives in my other GameCube town, Ohio.

Chief: I'm Chief! Got a problem with that? 'Cause I'm real good at fixing problems. After a quick trip to the post office, I then headed for home.

A Nippy November Night

After stopping at Nook’s, I started my usual walk around town, talking to animals and pulling weeds along the way. Puck was talking about how hungry he was.

Puck: When the clock strikes 7, I can't wait to chow down! When talking to Static, he again started his shop-owner routine where he lists five items (one at a time) and you are forced to buy one of them. I hate how the animals are able to do this, but I have no choice. The first item he listed was a G logo for 640 bells. I know these “games” typically only have one item priced under 1,000 bells, so I bought the G logo.

Static: Here's the first piece! A G logo for 640 bells!I talked to Tom and he pointed out what nobody wants to hear: Winter is almost here.

Tom: It's starting to get chilly. Winter's almost here...I talked to Baabara, and she mentioned how she and her boyfriend are going to have a picnic next week. She asked if tacos and chocolate milk are a good combination. I told her no, and she said maybe they’ll have steamed milk and milkshakes instead. And just because I like taking things out of context…

Baabara: I hope the weather clears for our picnic of love, daahling!Hank was over by the wishing well. He said he checked out my gyroid the other day and he asked how it knows how to dance. I told him I taught the gyroid how to dance. (As if).

Hank: You taught it how to dance? That rocks! Teach me, too! From the top of a cliff, I saw Ursala down below. I can’t help but notice how much taller cliffs seem in this game as opposed to the five-foot cliffs in City Folk.

The cliffs. While looking through my items attached to letters, I spotted a moody blue shirt. It sure beats the patched shirt I was still wearing from Halloween, so I put it on.

Putting on a moody blue shirt.I then found some petal paper in the dump, and I picked it up so I could mail two fossils away to the Farway Museum. After mailing them and putting some money in my bank account, I headed for home.
