Cupcake Out, Monique In, and Foreign Fruit from Hank

I started up the game and saw that Cupcake has moved out of Forest.

Cupcake's goodbye letter.I checked the map to see who my new neighbor is (Monique) and then went to meet her. Despite what she says, we have met before. She used to live in Forest a number of years ago. I didn’t particularly care for her.

Monique: Have we met before? I'm almost positive the answer is no.I talked to Hank and he gave me a pop quiz. He asked me which fruit he likes better, a peach or an apple. I guessed apple, and he told me he likes both of them equally. He then realized his question was faulty, so he gave me the prize anyway…a pear. And that’s how you can get foreign fruit without having to use the train to visit other towns.

Hank: Here, you can have this pear for free!I saw a balloon present floating by, from right to left. I followed it and followed it. It wasn’t getting caught in any trees, even ones that didn’t have anything in them. It kept going, and then just before it sailed out of town, it got caught in the very last tree in its path.

A balloon present (finally) gets caught in a tree. But after all that chasing, it only contained a daffodil. Not something I wanted. Anyway, I continued around town, pulling weeds and then making sure my town still had perfect town status. I then headed for home.

KK, A Dump Place for a Pitfall, and Pink Cub Problems

Even though I already have all 55 of K.K.’s songs, I decided to pay him a visit and watch him perform tonight. I let him pick a random song, and he played me K.K. Ska.

K.K.: How's it going? I drop by here to play my tunes every Saturday night.I just walked around town, talking to some animals and pulling some weeds. I went into the dump and fell into a pitfall! Who buries a pitfall in the dump??

I fell into a pitfall in the dump!I walked by the wishing well, and my two pink bear cub villagers (Ursala and Cupcake) apparently just had a disagreement of some kind. Dark, gloomy clouds were coming from both of them.

Ursala and Cupcake depressed after a fight.I tried to get a certain glitch to work, but once again, I had no luck. Once the clock struck midnight, the rain came down and the umbrellas went up. At least for the few animals that were still awake and outside.

I’ve Made a Huge Mistake

I played some Animal Crossing tonight, mainly to pick up all my weeds. While walking around, I saw a large shadow in the river, so I got out my fishing rod. Turned out to be an arapaima. I always love catching the large fish in Animal Crossing–except the sea bass of course. I hate sea bass.

In the process of catching an arapaima.I found the day’s money rock and got the full amount from it (7 bags = 13,300 bells). I also found the daily glowing spot (1,000 bells) and buried a shovel in that spot. Hopefully it will become another golden tree. I went in the police station to check the lost-and-found. I took a pad of paper, since I had a fossil that needed to be mailed. I deposited some money in the bank and headed for home.

I’m actually feeling pretty stupid right now. A couple months ago, I was looking through my item checklist and saw there was one model I was missing…the weed model. I looked up when you get that model, and it’s on Founder’s Day. For some reason, I was thinking Founder’s Day was the anniversary of the day you created your town. So I found the day that I first got the game–September 29, 2002. (Yes, I keep track of things like that :P). So I made a note in a text file to play AC on September 29th to attend the Founder’s Day event.

Now September 29th is tomorrow…and the reason I wanted to pick up all my weeds tonight was so that my town would look nice if I recorded a Youtube video of Founder’s Day tomorrow. But I decided to check and make sure…and it turns out Founder’s Day isn’t on your town’s anniversary after all. In fact, it’s on August 21st. Which just passed a month ago! …While my note was still in my file, reminding me to play on 9/29. Ugh.

And if that’s not bad enough, I actually played Animal Crossing on August 21st! But apparently I either didn’t go by the wishing well acre, or perhaps I played at a time when Tortimer wasn’t there. But wow, that’s really disappointing.
