Going Green

Del asked me to catch a tiger butterfly for him yesterday, but I didn’t see one yesterday. So by today, I almost forgot about it. But then I saw one flying by, and I thought “Oh yeah! I need that!” So I caught it and took it to Del. He gave me a beach chair as a reward.

I caught a tiger butterfly! Here, kitty, kitty! As for the paths I was considering yesterday, I did read and consider all your comments you guys left on Facebook. You guys all made some good points, but I ultimately decided to go with green. For the red and blue fans, don’t worry, I will likely use those paths at some point in the future. It’ll only take me about five minutes to swap the colors. But for now, green is my lucky color. 😉

I started putting the patterns down today. I’m not doing the whole town at once, just part of it each day. It’ll probably be a few days until I’m done, but I should definitely have it done before I open my gate again next Friday night. I’m really liking it so far. It makes my town look new again.

Pangone & Paths

I started up the game today and got a goodbye letter from Pango. She is officially gone. I grabbed a bunch of random flowers and planted them in the dirt patch left by her missing house so the grass can regrow quicker. I also dropped off 99,000 bells (of the 150,000+ I earned last night) for Scott so he can pay money towards his next house expansion.

Then I decided to play around with the idea of a new path. Back a month or two ago, I jokingly suggested I’d make black and red paths. Bushy actually liked the idea so I wondered if it would actually work. I gave it a try with black as the main path and a red border. Then I also tested the same thing with green and blue borders. I actually like the black paths, they almost have a neon look to them, which I really like a lot. Reminds me a bit of Moonside (if there are any Earthbound fans reading).

Samples of red, green, and blue lined black paths for my town.

I haven’t decided which of the three I’ll go with just yet. I’m actually leaning a bit towards the green, but red is still in the running too. For whatever reason, the blue isn’t doing it for me this time. Maybe because I had blue last time (blue border on white path), so I’m wanting to go a new direction. Feel free to leave comments on what you like or don’t like.

Friday Night Forest, Pango Packed

It was raining in Forest tonight, which is always a good thing. I opened my gate just after 10:00 and it filled up almost instantly. ToonZelda, Bushido, and Patty were the visitors.

We walked around town and headed to my house and then Scott’s house. As expected, Bushy enjoyed the three deer scares in there.  After stopping at Nook’s and Ables, we then had a fishing competition. Thanks to the rain, coelacanths were out and about.

Bushido: 0 bugs, 7 fish. Patty: 1 bug, 5 fish. T Zelda: 1 bug, 15 fish. Jeff: 0 bugs, 11 fish.Holding up our best catches of the night. There were also some valuable summer bugs out. I caught two rainbow stags (10,000 bells ea.), several oak silk moths (1,200 bells ea.), a lot of lantern flies (1,800 bells ea.), and a BUNCH of goliath beetles (a whopping 6,000 bells ea.). So if you combine that with the two coelacanths I caught tonight (15,000 bells ea.), and I ended up making over 150,000 bells. It was a great night for catching bugs and fish.

Jeff shows off his goliath beetle in AC City Folk for Wii.I checked in on Pango, and she is all packed and ready to move out. She will officially move out by Sunday, if not tomorrow.

Pango has her furniture packed up in boxes as she prepares to move away.
