Alice in Forest Land

It was raining in Forest today, which is always a pleasant surprise. I went into Nook ‘n’ Go and Tom Nook again asked me what I value in his store.

Tom Nook: For example, Jeff... What do you look for in a store, hm?It has once again been 38 days since he last asked, and I chose “nothing much,” as I always do. That option keeps your current store, as I’ve documented here before.

This topic was discussed recently on ACC (Animal Crossing Community), and the majority of the people in the thread tended to believe that the “nothing much” option changes your store to Nook’s Cranny (the very first store). I stated that I was sure about it, but people believe what they want to believe. I’ve been choosing this option for years and Nook never changed back to Nook’s Cranny. If I’m wrong, then by all means, show me some evidence to the contrary.

I’ve noticed for years that false rumors about Animal Crossing never seem to die. Just like that ridiculous rumor about Animal Crossing: Wild World having a secret island if you give Tom Nook 50 fossils and have him blow a whistle. 😀

Anyway, Saharah was in town today, looking for old wallpaper. I went around asking my villagers to see if they had any. Along the way, I spotted a new house; Alice has just moved in to Forest.

Alice: Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I seem a little frazzled. My name is Alice.Only two of my animals had old wallpaper for me, Rowan and Mint.

Mint: Sure, I have some here I was about to toss, you witch.I didn’t have any old wallpaper in storage, so I was unable to redeem them for a rare wallpaper from Saharah. But I put those two into storage for next time. Bob was still sick today, so I again bought him some medicine.

Bob takes his medicine.

Bob Medicine

I went to the city to check the theater for new emotions. There were no Frillard ones, but I did get disbelief again, replacing realization. Realization (the exclamation point) lacked the necessary oomph that disbelief and shock have.

I went back to my town and shot down a balloon present. It contained a koopa shell.

A purple balloon present flies over my head. When I went into Bob’s house, I saw that he was sick.

Bob: Sniffle...sniffle...SNEYORK! Uuuuuungh... I need some medicine in the worst way...I made my way around town, watering my flowers. I found three new black roses today. On the bulletin board, there was a notice that said Kid Cat’s 8-incher won an award yesterday.

*The Tourney Results* Congratulations on your victory at the big 3/17 loach tourney, Kid Cat! Your 8-incher won it!I stopped in Nook’s and bought some medicine. On my way back around, I gave it to Bob.

Bob takes his medicine.By then, I was about done for the day, but I realized that I should change my clothes and hair back. So I put my club shirt and mohawk wig back into storage and put on my burglar shirt. I then went back to the city (to Shampoodle) to change my hair back to its normal color.

Harriet: We're all done! You look seriously fabulous!

Poppy Gone

It’s St. Patrick’s Day today…but the game doesn’t seem to recognize that fact, so it’s a non-issue in City Folk. I went on and checked my mail; I got a goodbye letter from Poppy. She is no longer a Forest resident.

To Jeff, By the time you read this, I probably will have already left Forest... Thanks for everything. I will never forget the good times I had here. -Good-bye, PoppyAnyway, I took the bus to the city, where it was raining. That saves me from having to water my flowers.

It was after 8 p.m. by the time I played, so I decided to stop by The Roost to watch K.K. perform. I already have all of the songs, so I just let him choose a song for me. I told him I was in a good mood, and he played K.K. Dixie for me.

K.K. Slider performs a song for Mohawk McClover, aka Jeff.I dropped off the aircheck off by Scott’s house, so he can have some music for his house. I then saw Bob and talked to him; he commented on the nice weather.

Bob: The warm air really puts a step spring in my step!I talked to Egbert, and he told me he was talking to Olivia from Anville. He said she is a serious retro girl.

Egbert: I don't know if you knew this, but she is a SERIOUS retro girl, I peed!I was almost done playing, but I moved some flowers around first. I put some in the dirt left behind where Poppy’s house was. That will help the grass regrow faster. I also moved some more gold roses to along my paths.
