The Roost

Today, Rowan approached me and said he wanted to move out of Forest. I told him not to go, so he agreed to stay. I wish it was always that easy.

Rowan: Since you're gonna go and cry about it, I won't move away, unlike you! While watering my flowers, I saw a balloon present. So I tried to hide behind it for the picture.

A present floats by on a pink balloon in ACCF.Afterwards, I got my slingshot out and shot it down. It contained a Mama bear. I went into the Roost and saw Victoria there.

Victoria: There's a little man haunting me today... And his name is KING APPETITE!Later on, Phyllis also came down to the Roost. I wondered…which seat can I take? I took the only seat available and ordered a coffee, with pigeon milk. I think this is the first time I’ve seen all three seats being used.

Jeff, Phyllis, and Victoria drinking coffee at the Roost. To test a rumor someone posted on Youtube, I talked to Phyllis dozens of times in the Roost, and I can confidently say that she will not mention being in the bunny suit on Easter. I’ll never understand why people love spreading false rumors about Animal Crossing.

Bunny Day (Easter)

Happy Easter, everyone! Today is Bunny Day in Animal Crossing: City Folk. And that means Zipper T. Bunny is in town. He can be found near town hall.

Zipper: Crack open the eggs and peek inside! You might just find a surprise! Bring it here for a Bunny Day treat! Many “bunny eggs” will be buried all over town. It’s your job to dig them all up.

Look at that! I dug up a Bunny egg! From your inventory screen, you can open the eggs. Twelve of them will contain “bunny foils,” which you can take to Zipper to exchange for egg furniture. But most of the eggs will contain candy.

Opening a bunny egg from the inventory screen in ACCF for Nintendo Wii.The candy doesn’t really serve a purpose at Easter. You can eat it if you like, or sell it. But I prefer to save mine for Halloween. So I dropped mine off near Guest’s house. Guest is my sugar daddy candy man. Candy storage man, I mean.

A bunch of candy I dropped on the ground behind Guest's house in Animal Crossing: City Folk.It took me a long time to find all twelve bunny foils. The last one was very hard to find. But I did eventually get them all.

All twelve bunny foils on the ground in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) for Nintendo Wii.I then exchanged the bunny foils for egg furniture. Unlike the other holiday sets, there are no duplicates. You get exactly one of each piece.

Zipper: Guess what you've won! A special Bunny Day treat! After I exchanged them all (one at a time, what a pain!), I then sold my 12 items to Tom Nook. I earned 107,776 bells for the entire set.

Tom Nook: Ah, for all of that, I'll give you 107,776 bells! But of course I did a few other things today besides just participate in the Bunny Day festivities. I watered my flowers and went to the city to check the new emotions available at the theater. They didn’t have the ones I’m looking for.

Back in Forest, I also talked to many of my animals. Victoria asked me for a new greeting.

Victoria: Save the Queen!Bob asked me why Zipper only comes once a year. He asked if it was because we smell. We? Speak for yourself, stinky litter box boy!

Bob: Why does he only come around once a year? Is it 'cause...we smell? And then Yuka also asked me for a greeting. I really don’t like Yuka.

Yuka: So, that's our new greeting! "I'm annoying," OK?

Rocco Moves In, Friday Night Forest

When I came out of my house, I saw the cherry blossom petals falling from the sky. They look pretty and give these few days in early April a unique look. It reminds me of last year this time, when I shot down the UFO for the first time.

Cherry blossom petals fall from the sky near my house in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) on Wii.I then went to meet my new neighbor, Rocco. He apparently moved in a couple days ago, but I didn’t go speak to him until today. Oops! But that’s why he’s already unpacked.

Rocco: I'm not some nut stranger or anything. In fact, starting today, I'm your neighbor! I live here now!Shortly after 10:00, I opened my gate. Bushido and Yann came in. Bushy said he was hiding (he was behind a tree), and Yann (who had blue hair) asked where he was as she blew right by him.

Jeff, to blue-haired Yann: You blue right by him.We went into Kid Cat’s house and I banged on his drum while Bushy took a flying leap onto his weight bench. There seemed to be a lot of lag tonight, so we had some fun with that. But I was polite enough to speak to Kid Cat as well, since we were in his house after all.

Kid Cat: The same design can look different depending on who is wearing it, on top. Me? Always huge.We went into Nook’s and there was still lag and our characters were merging. I trapped Bushido in the lower-left corner of Nook ‘n’ Go, but he escaped by buying the kiddie chair that was blocking him in. We went by my house and saw Victoria outside. I talked to her and then we all went inside. We had some fun with my Yoshi’s egg.

Yann: Stop scaring Yoshi! ;)Because of the lag, Bushido and I passed through Yann. So I came to the logical conclusion that Yann was a ghost: Yasper the friendly ghost.

We later went into my basement (golden room) and experimented with lag some more. It was pretty funny. At one point, Bushy and I trapped Yann (who was now wearing a beak) in the bed. After we finally let her out, she used her outrage emotion. She was one angry bird. 😀

Yann using the outrage emotion while wearing a beak. She was an Angry Bird!We left my house, and saw that Victoria was still there waiting for me. Odd. She must have thought I was her jockey.

But we went into Del’s house right next door. While I was banging Del’s drum (don’t judge me) and Bushido was talking to Del, Yann got caught in the middle and was hovering/sliding around in circles. She technically didn’t have enough space to stand in that spot, so the game compensated by having her bounce around. Either that, or she really is a ghost. Regardless, it was pretty funny. (The picture doesn’t do it justice, though).

Yann bounces around in Del's house in ACCF.When we went back outside, Victoria was still there! I walked a little bit away, and she followed me! I clearly have a stalker in Forest now.

Jeff: Definitely a stalker. After going up the ramp, we saw Egbert down below us. Bushido questioned how a chicken could be yellow. I said if there can be a golden goose, why not a golden chicken? Or maybe there’s a simpler explanation.

Egbert: It's spring, I peed! And that can only mean one thing! It's time to have a spring veggie party!Around 11:15, Bushido went home. Yann was going to pay off her house, but didn’t have enough money. I suggested selling some fruit to earn money, and we also did some fishing for a while.

We also discussed Bunny Day (a.k.a. Easter), which is this Sunday. I will not be opening my gate for Easter, since the item collection is a one-shot thing. Unlike the other holiday furniture sets, Bunny Day gives you all of the items, but only one of each. There are no duplicates and you can’t keep collecting more items endlessly like you can for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Halloween, and Festivale.

So it’s more suited to a single-player experience instead of a multiplayer hunt. Besides, it involves lots of digging of buried items, and that means a higher risk of someone accidentally killing some of my flowers. 😛

Anyway, I ended the party shortly before midnight. I again saw Victoria, and this time she had fleas. I caught the flea for her before I ended my game for the night.

Victoria: Ugh! Ew! Ew ew ew! I'm not DIRTY, am I? I don't want you to think I'm gross, master!
