Tonight I opened my gate at 9:30 for a bug-hunting party. Yann and Megan came over. We were mostly just catching bugs, but when I saw a shark in the water, of course I couldn’t resist!
Of the beetles on trees, I was ignoring the fruit beetles, which aren’t worth much. But I believe all the other tree bugs are worth at least 1,000 bells each, and some are worth up to 12,000 bells. So it’s a lot of fun filling up your pockets.
Just before 11:00, we went into the Able Sisters shop. We wanted to see if the Nook glitch would also work there. But just as we were about to try it, Megan and Yann accidentally did the other glitch, where someone gets stuck behind Sable.
We kept trying to free everybody. But when we did, someone else would get stuck. And we were experiencing some severe lag, which made it difficult to do it correctly. So while Megan was stuck, Yann and I tried the door glitch. I went outside and she tried to come out while I was reading the shop closed sign. Even though she was unable to exit the store, she could not see herself in the doorway like you could with the Nook glitch. Too bad.
Anyway, I then ended the party to set Megan free and I then reopened my gate. As Megan tried to re-enter, Egbert told me he wanted to move out of Forest.
I asked him to stay, but he wouldn’t commit to staying. I’ll have to keep talking to him in the coming days to change his mind. Anyway, Megan and Yann came back and we did some more bug-hunting. By the time I was done, I had racked up 234,550 bells on the night. (I had emptied my wallet before I started specifically so I could see how much I earned tonight).
Somehow, I got in trouble with Megan for saying I wouldn’t make fun of her fashion sense. 😀
It was a fun night in Forest. We’ll have to do this again sometime. Catching bugs on summer nights is one of my favorite things to do in this game, and it’s also the best time of year to make a lot of money. Yann did some bug-hunting at her own town before coming over, and she said made a total of a million bells for the day.
