Correction About Katie & Kaitlin

After I got a Wii U and transferred my ACCF town from my Wii to my Wii U, I made a post explaining what would be different when playing on Wii U. I had believed that Katie and Kaitlin used WiiConnect24. And since Wii U doesn’t support WiiConnect24, I thought they could not appear when playing the game on Wii U.

Well, I was wrong. Look what I saw in my town today.

Katie: Oh, poo! I'm l-lost again!Katie wanted to be returned to Tropical, which is my friend Yann’s town. Apparently the Katie/Kaitlin data can be exchanged when you play with someone on Wi-Fi. (I played with Yann on Christmas Eve). So for better or worse, the Wi-Fi cats are still around. I assume the same applies for Blanca as well.

Bananas Update

I think it’s time for an update on my secondary town, Bananas. Tom Nook finally had a shovel for sale today. I was tired of seeing all the X marks all around town, so I can dig them up at last.

Tom Nook: Ah, a shovel. Only 500 bells! What do you say, hm?After selling some items (including two pieces of Jingle furniture I got on Christmas Eve), Nook had earned enough money to upgrade his shop. It will be Nook ‘n’ Go by Friday.

-Nook's Cranny Notice- We have decided to expand to better serve you, our loyal customers! We will be closed for remodeling on December 27th.Also I wanted to point out two more things I like about Bananas. One of them is this style of ramp. I’ve always liked ramps like this, but I’ve never had one. I wouldn’t want to have to push a snowball up it, though! The other thing? Star grass snow! Oh yeah!

A zig-zagging ramp and star snow in the town of Bananas.Pascal was in town. I didn’t have a scallop for him, but I still talked to him so I could hear his words of wisdom.

Pascal: Right now, there is only right now, maaan. And then I went to meet Iggly, a new neighbor. But shock of shocks, he said he just moved in from Forest!  This is the same Iggly that moved out of Forest over a month ago!

You may be thinking “but Forest and Bananas aren’t connected, so how is this possible?” Well I’ll tell you! 😛 They’re not directly connected, but they do have something in common: Yann. My friend Yann is on the friend rosters of both towns, so Iggly must have been “in limbo” on Yann’s system, and passed on to Bananas when the friendship was confirmed.

So now Iggly resides on my Wii again, just like where he started out. (For those who don’t know, my Forest town was moved from my Wii to my Wii U during the transfer process and Bananas is a new town made on my Wii).

Iggly: I went to go give a big ol' high five to Peaches and Rod.With my newly purchased shovel, I could now dig up gyroids and fossils. Much to Blathers’ disappointment, I did not donate the fossils to the museum. For now, I’m in it for the money.

Blathers: The museum is currently housing naught but dust bunnies, which are of no scientific use to anyone...And using that money, I was able to pay off my remaining house debt. My house will be upgraded tomorrow.

No more debt for me! My house is all paid off! After that, I ended my day in Bananas and started up my Forest town. I checked Crazy Redd’s for his new items; he had a hospital bed that I needed for my catalog, so I bought it. I then went around watering my flowers. I saw my snowman from two days ago; he doesn’t look so menacing now.

A tiny snowman on the cliff. When I was done, I went to town hall to deposit my money in the bank. Because of my Jingle furniture haul on Christmas Eve, I had nearly 300,000 bells to deposit. That pushed my bank balance over 17 million for the first time. By the way, this balance is now higher than my balance in my GameCube town.

Your current balance is 17,180,000 bells.

Christmas Eve

Today I got a letter from Mom and Dad:

Dear Jeff, Your father and I picked out the perfect present for you, just in case that certain someone leaves you another lump of coal in your stocking this year. Happy Holidays! -M and DThey sent me an orange check tee. I think I’d rather have the lump of coal.

Anyway, I decided to make a snowman. As I was making it, a balloon present flew by overhead.

A balloon present flies overhead as I roll up a large snowball.I made it right on the edge of the cliff. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a perfect snowman, but I still thought he looked pretty menacing from the lower level with his large presence looming overhead.

A huge snowman stands on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the land below.I also decided to finally redecorate my house, at least the main floor. The gorgeous set went back into storage, and the snowman set came out. The farting gyroids remain.

Snowman furniture and a large festive tree in my house.…jvgsjif?

A JVGS pattern on the ground, next to a Jif peanut butter logo pattern.Later on, around 9:15, I opened up my gate. Yann came over to visit, and Jingle was in town for the Christmas Eve festival.

Jingle: All that white, fluffy snow everywhere! Ooh boy, I just love it! And how romantic! If you don’t know how the festival works, it goes like this: You have to find Jingle somewhere in town. He can be outdoors or in an animal’s empty house. (He won’t be in a house if the animal is home). Talk to him and he will give you a piece of Jingle furniture. Once you leave him, he respawns somewhere else and you can do it over and over.

Each piece of Jingle furniture sells for a whopping 12,240 bells, making Christmas the best holiday to earn lots of money. The only catch is that you have to change your hat (or accessory) each time, to trick Jingle into thinking you’re not the same person. But even if you don’t have tons of hats, you can use each pattern as a hat as well. And his memory doesn’t cover the entire night, so you can eventually re-use old hats.

Jeff, wearing no hat, stands next to Jingle on Christmas Eve.Yann and I were finding him pretty quickly, too. But after hunting Jingle for a while, I noticed that he hadn’t been in Bob’s house at all. I figured it was because Bob had been naughty.

Jeff: Bob's been naughty. ;)Jingle did eventually end up hiding in Bob’s house a few times though.

At one point, I saw three of my animals clustered in one nook. I decided to trap them there. I also saw Sally nearby, so I added her to the prison zoo.

Four animals trapped in one small area.Robin had a totem pole in her house, so while Yann was talking to Jingle, my inner Totem Rocker came out and I played that thing’s sound effect over and over and over and over. I’m sure Yann appreciated that. 😀

Jeff stands at the totem pole as Yann talks to Jingle.I helped Yann complete her Jingle set by trading her duplicates for other items she needed. I didn’t collect the set this time, I was just using it to make money. Apparently I collected 23 pieces in the two hours I played, since my total earnings for the night came out to 281,520 bells.

Tom Nook: Thanks much! Anything else I can do for you?Merry Christmas, everyone!
