Silver Trophy

The fishing tournament results from yesterday were posted on the bulletin board. It confirmed my win with my 18-inch monster. Wait…monster?

*The Tourney Results* Jeff has won the 1/19 Horse Mackerel Fishing Tourney with a 18-inch monster! And I got a letter in the mail from Chip, with my silver trophy. I put it next to my other trophies:

My bug and fish trophies on display in my snowman-themed house. It was my first time earning a silver trophy, since I usually ignore the fish/bug tournaments. But contrary to what you might think, the silver trophy is not for second place. To clear up any confusion about the trophies, this is the breakdown:

  • gold trophy – for winning a general fishing tournament, where any fish is eligible
  • silver trophy – for winning a fishing tournament where only one specific fish is eligible
  • bug trophy – for winning the bug tournament

I have no idea why Nintendo chose to make the trophies gold and silver, because gold and silver are typically used to represent first and second place, respectively. And why doesn’t the bug tournament have two types of trophies? Only Nintendo knows.

Anyway, I then went around town to water flowers. Robin approached me, asking for the K.K. Slider DVD she supposedly lent me. Say what? But then she realized she lent it to Amelia instead. Yeah, like Amelia’s ever going to return it.

Robin: You know, that DVD K.K. Slider: On Tour...Once I finished up in Forest, I checked in on my Bananas town. Unfortunately, Iggly apparently became the first resident to move out of town. It’s a shame, because he was the same Iggly that lived in Forest before. Now he’s left me twice.

Iggly's goodbye letter in ACCF.I found today’s money rock, dug up some fossils, and sold some fruit. In total, I have about 225,000 bells of the 400,000 I need for my fountain. So maybe in a couple weeks I’ll have enough.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading and come back again soon!

Fishing Tournament

The fishing tournament was today, and it was the one where you have to catch a specific type of fish. This time, Chip would only accept horse mackerel.

Chip: No kidding, if it's not a horse mackerel, now, I won't measure it. No way, no how. Got that? No way.At the time, Rowan was in the lead with a 15.9 inch fish.

Chip: Rowan caught a respectable 15.9-inch horse mackerel. Yup. Ate it with my own mouth.Fortunately, there were plenty of horse mackerel out in the ocean, and it didn’t take me long to overtake Rowan. When I did, Chip gave me a toaster as a prize.

Chip: And of course, the prize... A toaster! Yes! All for you!I was in the lead, but I still caught several more fish just to be sure. I came back shortly before 6:00 (when the tournament ended) and gave Chip my remaining fish. And sure enough, I had no problem winning the tournament with my 18.8 inch horse mackerel.

Chip: The winner, with a fine horse mackerel of 18.8 inches, is you!I’ll get my prize in the mail at a later time, Chip said. It should be the silver trophy, which I have never received before. I got the gold fishing trophy before, but the tournaments for specific fish have a different trophy, which I only found out when marking off my item checklist.

Departed Sydney

Sydney moved out today; I got her goodbye letter in the mail.

Dear Jeff, Today's my last day. I'm leaving Forest. Good-bye, Jeff. I hope you won't forget me! Goodbye, -SydneyI opened my gate at 10:00. Yann came over to visit, and I showed her where I buried Sydney.

Jeff, standing by a dirt patch: I buried her here.We hung out in my house for a while. She wore a hat and stood behind my snowman to make it look like Frosty was wearing it.

A snowman wearing a hat?Yann told me she was going into labor and she gave birth to one of Del’s babies.

Jeff: Go to the DELivery room!In my golden basement, I wore the gold brick pattern to try to blend in.

Jeff, wearing a gold brick pattern in a gold room: You can't find me.It was snowing outside, so went fishing for a while–trying to catch a coelacanth. My first good catch was a tuna; Yann also caught one.

Jeff, holding a tuna: Hey, Big Tuna! And shortly after that, we both caught lobsters.

Jeff, holding a lobster: ROCK ROBSTER.We never did catch a coelacanth tonight, but we had a good time in Forest.

For anyone that missed the announcement, I have decided that I *will* buy a 3DS to play the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Leaf. For more details, see my announcement.
