Metroid 4

It’s Wednesday, so I went to the city to check Crazy Redd’s new items. He had a backyard pool, a serene painting, and a steam roller. Even though every room should have a steam roller sitting in the middle, I passed on this week’s items.

A backyard pool, a serene painting, and a steam roller in Crazy Redd's shop.I went around watering my flowers. I saw Bob from across the river again, so I waved to him.

Waving to Bob from across the river. Then I made my way around to the beach, where I woke Gulliver up.

Gulliver: You've found it! My...my interstellar astro-thingy! My missing spaceship part! Well done!I gave him the spaceship part and he gave me another Metroid! It took me forever to get a Metroid the first time, and now he hands them out like candy at Halloween! This is my 4th one. Crazy.

Wendy and a UFO

I noticed a new house in town, so I went to investigate. I introduced myself to Wendy, my new villager.

Wendy: Ohmigosh! It's YOU! No, wait. We've, like, never met before, lambkins.Avery approached me and told me I should ditch the name Jeff. He said I should be known as Skippy from now on. Even though I’m more of a Jif guy, I didn’t object. “Skippy” is better than most of the nicknames they come up with.

Avery: Aha, whaddaya say to skippy? That's a real gem, isn't it? And it fits you to a tee!By all indications, today was a UFO day. I haven’t been hunting the UFO as much since I completed my Gulliver collection last November, but the past few weeks I’ve been checking to see if each day was a UFO day. And today was one. At 6:02, I shot down the UFO.  This was my first UFO of 2013 and my 25th overall. It looks like Caroline was expecting the UFO to beam her up!

I shoot down a UFO, as a clueless Caroline walks underneath the flying saucer.Melba approached me and asked if she was weird for saying “toasty.”

Melba: Do you think it's weird, the way I can't stop saying "toasty"?So I had her say “g’day mate” instead.

Melba: It shouldn't be too tough for me to remember, but we'll see, g'day mate!I then saw a green balloon and got an interesting picture of it.

My inventory screen, with the player window filled entirely with green from the balloon.I shot it down; it contained a cubby hole. And then after that, I finally found the spaceship part.

The spaceship part in the grass.Tomorrow I’ll go see Gulliver on the beach and exchange it for one of his rare items. See you tomorrow!

Bananas Lighthouse

In Forest today, we had a rare rainfall. So I didn’t have to water my flowers, but I still checked around for new black roses. Surprisingly, I had three of them today! I haven’t been getting many new ones lately. I talked to Rowan, and he said he was going to move out of town. But I asked him to stay and he reluctantly agreed.

Rowan: Since you're gonna go and cry about it, I won't move away, with you!Later on, I started up my Bananas town. Today was the grand reopening of Nook ‘n’ Go!

Tom Nook: Yes, yes, welcome to you! Welcome to the grand reopening of Nook 'n' Go!I went down by the beach and Tortimer was there. My lighthouse has been completed too!

Tortimer: Good news, Jeff! Our new lighthouse is finally done!I had invited Megan, Yann, and Ryan over. Unfortunately, Ryan had trouble connecting and couldn’t make it, but Megan and Yann stopped over, and we tried to get the lighthouse glitch to work.

Megan and Yann stand near the lighthouse in Bananas. We tried. And tried. And tried and tried and tried. We tried different techniques, but nothing worked. If any of you are familiar with the lighthouse glitch, does the landmass (see pic above) look compatible with the glitch? I know some land shapes won’t work, such as the one in Forest, but I was hoping to be able to do the glitch in Bananas. We ended up a bit confused.

Jeff and Megan use the curiosity emotion as Yann says "Hello?"After stepping away for a minute, I returned to find Meg had dug a bunch of holes.

Tons of holes in the ground near the lighthouse. For reasons unknown, I declared ownership of a certain bridge and dug holes to protect it.

Jeff: MY BRIDGEEven though the glitch attempts weren’t successful, I still had a good time tonight. At the end of this month, I will be opening Bananas to everyone on my roster. It’ll be the last weekend of the month; stay tuned for the details.
