Black Cat is Back

I didn’t play yesterday, but today I received my Mother’s Day letter from Mom. She also attached a pink carnation seed to the letter.

Dear Jeff, Today (and today only), your dad is doing the laundry and cleaning. It's my once-annual day off, and I intend to enjoy it! It's my day. -MomFriga invited me to play a game of hide and seek, and I said yes. I had 10 minutes to find her, Bunnie, and Octavian.

Friga: The time limit is 10 minutes! To win, you have to find all 3 of us in that time. After a bit of looking, I found Octavian and Bunnie, both hiding behind trees.

Bunnie: I feel like I've been ravaged by the Forest ninja or something. You're really good, Mr. J.With about two minutes to go, I found Friga hiding behind the museum.

Friga peeking out from behind the museum during a game of hide-and-seek.So I won the game and Friga rewarded me with a squat dingloid. Octavian then pinged me, and asked for a new greeting.

Octavian: Mario Kart 8! The kids will love that like a clown made of balloons, eagle eye!And I had a new villager in town. But it was a returning villager who has lived in Forest before: Kiki the black cat! Even though she looks a bit odd and pig-like, I grew to like her after a while. So I’m glad to have her back in town. This particular Kiki moved from Tropical, which is Yann’s town.

Kiki: I just moved here from a little place called Tropical. Ever heard of it, for real?

Forest Sponge Cakes

Elmer the itchy horse asked me for a favor tonight. He asked me to deliver a package to Friga.

Elmer: Please go ahead and take this to Friga then, itch itch. Not only did I make the delivery, but I also caught the flea that was bugging him.

I ran into Octavian a bit later, and he was talking about baseball. He told me he always attends the games of our baseball team, the Forest Sponge Cakes. What? I’ve never heard of such a team! But it sounds like they can soak up their own sweat as they play.

Octavian: Of course, when our own team, the Forest Sponge Cakes, is playing, I'm always there.Saharah was in town, looking for old wallpaper. I asked all nine of my villagers for some, but only Friga and Lily had some to give me. Fortunately, I had one in storage too. So I took the three of them back to Saharah, and she gave me some ringside seating.

Saharah: Here...a ringside seating. Very exotic... Treasure it. It is a very rare thing. It’s not one that I needed, unfortunately. Still, I went in my house to take a look at it. Resetti looked like he’s ready to fight his next challenger.

The ringside seating wallpaper on display in my house.I’ve been having a lot of black roses wilt already, and I’ve been watering them to turn them into gold roses. The process seems to be going quickly, and that’s a good thing. I’ve even grown two extra black roses that I’ll be able to use as spares.

Goose Gone

The other night, I ran into Lily while on a walk around town. But what she said had me puzzled.

Lily: I'm just out for a little walk right now, unlike you.And today, I was surprised to get a goodbye letter from Goose! He was one of my favorite villagers, and I had no idea he was considering moving out! Ugh!

Goose's goodbye letter in Animal Crossing: City Folk for Nintendo Wii.I saw Ribbot tonight, and he told me he’d go insane for a bone shirt. Uh, what?

Ribbot: Normally, I don't give a power squat about clothes. But...whoa. I'd go insane for a bone shirt.Over by Able Sisters, I ran into Lily. She gave me a new nickname, Mr. J. I’ve actually grown to like this nickname, as some of my villagers have used it in New Leaf too. It reminds me of Harley Quinn in Batman, who calls the Joker Mr. J.

Lily: Yeah! Hang on a second... It's... Mr. J!
