Roald’s Racquetball Robots

Yesterday, Roald told me he has always wanted to live in a huge house. In fact, he said his basement would go down 76 stories! At the bottom, he would build robots that can play racquetball! That’s one weirdly specific fantasy, dude.

Roald: It would go down 76 stories...and at the bottom would be a lab for building racquetball robots!

Bones asked me to make a delivery to Static, and the gift was a paw shirt. Static said it was Bones’ style. I guess it is, since Bones is a dog!

Static, wearing a paw shirt: Mmhmm... Yeah... This is Bones's style, for sure. Not bad, but not great. Let's see how it fits!

In the Roost, I found Whitney enjoying some coffee. She told me that she also wanted something sweet, like apple pie. But she knew Brewster would give her a funny look if she asked him for some!

Whitney: But if I asked Brewster to bring me something like that, he'd probably give me a dirty look!

I played again tonight, and Static was up to his old tricks. He told Goldie that she had something on her face. Eventually, he admitted he was just talking about her nose.

Static, to Goldie: Goldie, there's something icky on your face, zap it.

Sterling asked me for a plesio skull, and I said I’d help him out even though I know most specific fossil requests are impossible. However, when Blathers identified today’s fossils, one of them was indeed a plesio skull! I took it over to Sterling, and he rewarded me with some charcoal tile.

Sterling: Don't even doubt that I take care of my bros. You totally earned this! It's some charcoal tile!

Static wanted to move out of town, but I was able to change his mind. After a few attempts, that is.

Static: Whoa, old dog. What's with the long face? You really don't wanna see old Static go, huh?

I went on a short bug-hunting mission, and when I was done, my bank account balance reached 37 million bells.

Your current balance is 37,000,000 bells.

Wasted Wagon for Whitney

On Tuesday, Goldie again wanted to move out of town. I got her to reconsider.

Goldie: If you really feel that strongly, in my nest, I'll have to think a little bit more about my plans.

Whitney was looking for some new furniture, and she said she wasn’t picky. As long as it was something ranch, she said it would satisfy her. Nook ‘n’ Go had a covered wagon for sale, and that certainly sounded ranch to me. It cost 3,040 bells, but I can be nice to my villagers sometimes (contrary to public opinion). 😛 So I took it over to Whitney, and she seemed confused.

Whitney: Hmmm... This worries me. Why did you bring me a covered wagon?

You guessed it: She didn’t think it was ranch style. Ugh.

During a trip into the city, I saw that Crazy Redd had a ranch chair for sale. Now a ranch chair has to be ranch, right? I bought it, even though it cost 2,800 bells. I took it to Whitney, and this time, she was happy with the gift. But her reward for me was just 728 bells…after I spent around 6,000 bells on her. What a waste.

Whitney: Thanks, J-bot! I'd really like to give you 728 bells in return, snappy.

Roald asked me to buy his boxing mat, because he needed money to beef up his toothpick collection. Since I just spent all that money on Whitney, I turned down Roald’s offer.

Roald: Well...I'm a jerk. I guess it's hard for people to give the toothpick the props it deserves.

I got my net out and started hunting for valuable bugs. At one point, I caught a golden stag, while standing right next to Goldie. I made about 170,000 bells in just under an hour.

I played again tonight, and Puck asked if I had just pigged out on a bunch of veggies. I said yes (even though it wasn’t true), and he told me that his “honker” is never wrong.

Puck: I thought so! This honker's never wrong, brrrrrrrrr!

I shot down a balloon present and found a green pipe inside.

After making my rounds, I did a little more bug-hunting. I wasn’t having as much luck as I did on Tuesday, so I didn’t play quite as long. But I still earned about 60,000 bells on the night.

Roald & Puck Related?

I spotted a tarantula on the beach tonight, right along the water’s edge.

I got my net out and walked towards it. Right as I swung my net, the tarantula sidestepped into the ocean, never to be seen again. It was so close to where my net landed, that I felt robbed.

When I visited Static, he said that Roald and Puck are so close to each other that they act like family. Then he wondered if they could be related, since they look so much alike. That’s actually true, they do look alike! I think Static just randomly stumbled onto the truth.

Static: I wonder if they ARE related? Eh, probably not. ...Though they do look a lot alike, zap it.

Speaking of Puck, he asked me for some of my clothes. I didn’t have a spare outfit with me, but I bought a “U R here” shirt for him at Able Sisters. But when I took it back to him, he said it wasn’t “fresh” enough, and he refused it.

Puck: Oh, um... Well, this outfit doesn't say fresh as much as I was hoping it would.

I hate how picky animals are when it comes to clothes in City Folk. Especially considering they don’t tell you up front that it has to be a certain style.

Over at the Roost, I ran into Phyllis. She complained that she sees too much of the people in town.

Phyllis: With the town hall open 24 hours a day, I see way too much of the people in this town.

After making my rounds, I did a little fishing and bug-catching. That included catching two sharks right next to each other!

I caught a shark! Check out that toothy grin!

I also caught a hammerhead shark, an arapaima, a goliath beetle, a couple of gars, and more. But one thing I didn’t catch? The scorpion that caught me first. Oof.

I didn’t play as long as I did last week, but I still ended up earning over 100,000 bells on the night. See you next time!
