Stylish Cereal Spills

I received Static’s goodbye letter in the mail today. 🙁

Jeff, Thanks for being here for me. I'm a better animal for knowing you. I'm leaving Forest behind, but I'll be thinking of you in my new home! -Your pal, Static

That letter was a keeper, so I went over to the post office to save it. Apparently the last letter I saved was Savannah’s goodbye letter, which was from three years ago this week. Those two letters are apparently the only letters I’ve saved in the post office since online play officially ended in 2014.

That got me thinking about my current villagers. Goldie now takes over the top spot as my favorite villager, followed by Puck and Bones. Purrl and Punchy are in the next group, and that made me realize that I have three villagers whose names start with PU. 😛

I have four villagers I dislike: Lucy, Rasher, Kitty, and Violet.

Anyway, I listened in on a conversation between Lucy and Puck. They were talking about having a picnic, and Puck didn’t want any healthy food there. Lucy suggested she could bring some lemon tea…sounds good to me!

Lucy: What if I bring a cooler full of lemon tea? It's just the thing for a picnic, I've always said!

Puck agreed with the idea too, although he said it would be even better if Lucy poured the tea into batter and then deep-fried it. I don’t think that would work out very well, but okay. 🍋

I visited Violet, and she was sick with a cold. And yet Rasher seemed to be feeling under the weather too.

Rasher: I should wash my hands more. And eat healthier. And drink plenty of hot cider.

At Purrl’s request, I delivered a black pawn over to Lucy. When I returned to Purrl, she gave me a Persian wall as thanks. Since Lucy was still standing nearby, I spoke with her again. She left out Purrl’s name when she said this:

Lucy: owes you big-time, if you ask me. Thanks again, lone bone!

Purrl complimented Punchy, saying the tiny spots on his clothes were “dazzling.” Punchy said that it was just his breakfast cereal that he spilled on himself. It turned out that Purrl already knew…but she was complimenting him on how he spilled the cereal so fashionably.

Purrl: I was complimenting the stylish way you spilled on yourself!

I bought some medicine at Nook ‘n’ Go and took it back to Violet. Get well soon, gorilla.

Violet takes her medicine from Jeff in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I recently posted a new ACCF video, City Folk Moments #10! Here it is if you haven’t watched it yet:

End of a Long Run

I was very disappointed, and downright sad, to discover that Static had his belongings packed up in boxes tonight. He’s moving out of Forest.

Static: Usually you're not super quick, and yet somehow you manage to pop up at a strange time like this.

Not only has Static been my favorite villager in town for years, but his exit comes five years (almost to the day) of his arrival. He moved in on May 20, 2015, and leaves on May 21, 2020.

It’s always sad when a favorite villager moves out unexpectedly. But when that villager has been in your town for that long, it stings even more. Maybe I just have a case of Static cling. I know I still have Static in my GameCube town, but that’s not helping much right now. 🙁

After saying goodbye, I went outside and tried to cheer myself up. I saw my two least favorite villagers, Kitty and Rasher, hanging out together. So I decided to pitfall them both.

Rasher, in a pitfall: Whaa!
Kitty, in a pitfall: Stop right there! Turn the other way! This is just TOO humiliating!

Punchy asked me to catch a tiger butterfly for him, but it was too late to find one (and I probably won’t be playing in the next day or two). So I told him I couldn’t help.

I went to the city and made a rare visit to the fortune teller, Katrina. I gave her 100 bells, and she bashed me over the head and gave me a vague fortune. “You must just remember that impressions of you are not affected by your own personal preferences.” I didn’t know what that meant.

Katrina: YEEEEEEEEEeeeeeee!

I returned to Forest, and…my day got worse. Kitty, of all people, was suddenly attracted to me! Yikes. Go away, Kitty!

Kitty: I can't stand downwind, because your scent makes me feel...wowie-wow!

After that, I just gathered some fruit to sell, earning about 60,000 bells. I found a lovely lamp in the recycle bin before ending my game for the night.

Good night, everyone! I hope you all have better luck with your favorite villagers than I did tonight!

Flower vs. Seeds

Sunday was Mother’s Day, and I had a letter from Mom waiting for me in my mailbox when I played today.

Dear Jeff, Today (and today only), your dad is doing the laundry and cleaning. It's my once-annual day off, and I intend to enjoy it! It's my day. -Mom

She sent me a bag of pink carnation seeds. Out of curiosity, I decided to check to see what Tom Nook would pay for the seeds. As it turns out, he refuses to pay anything for the seeds, although he does offer to dispose of them for free. But if you go outside and plant the seeds, pick up the resulting flower, and then talk to Tom Nook, he offers 500 bells for it!

Tom Nook in Panel 1: But if you just don't want it, I can dispose of it, hm? Would you like me to get rid of it for you?
Tom Nook in Panel 2: Yes, yes, I'll take that for 500 bells!

So it’s worth more “used” than it is brand new. 😛

Violet lost her key and locked herself out of her house, so I went fishing for her key. I never did find it, but I caught several fish along the way. Goldie noticed an angelfish in my pockets, and she gave me 4,087 bells for it!

Goldie: Um, I should pay you for it. How does 4,087 bells sound...woof woof?
Sounds like we have a deal. Uh..woof woof.

When I took a bus to the city, I saw my mortal enemy Yuka there! She said she saw a stylish guy coming out of the salon the other day, and she seemed smitten with him. She then said she thinks he lives in Forest! Oh no, don’t even think about coming to Forest! Stay away from all my towns forever, please!

Yuka: I've GOT to find out where he lives. I've heard that it MIGHT be Forest.
