Final Bug Hunt

Tonight, Puck told me that he had to move out of town! Lucky and Gwen seemed delighted to hear the news. 😛

Puck: Hey, Chill J, I know this is kinda sudden, but I have to move out of Forest.

I told him to stay, but he said he couldn’t. However, I was determined to talk to him again later to change his mind.

In the meantime, I got to see the inside of Simon’s house now that he’s all unpacked. His house looks like a campsite, with a bonfire, a hammock, and a couple of tiki torches. I like what he’s done with the place!

Simon: Welcome, Jeff. It's good to see you!

My buddy Tom lost his key in the river. So I kept an eye out for small “fish” shadows in the river throughout my session.

Tom: UH-oh! What if I dropped my key in the river when I was fishing?! This is bad, me-YOWZA!

I shot down a balloon present, and it contained a men’s toilet. 😛

Since it’s the last night of August, I made one last bug hunt before most of the valuable bugs vanish for ten months. The hunt started out slow, but then picked up. I did well, earning 150,000 bells in an hour-long session. I met my goal for the summer, and even exceeded it by 100k+.

When the clock struck midnight, I knew the fun was over. 😛 Worthless crickets abounded, and my focus shifted to Tom and Puck. After a total of about 5-6 attempts, Puck finally relented and changed his plans to move.

Puck: Since it means so much to you, I'll see if I can get out of this whole moving thing, on ice!

I found Tom’s key while fishing over the waterfall, and I took it back to him. He gave me a mega echoid to thank me.

Did any of you have a big bug-hunting summer? If you made goals, I hope you met them!

I’ll see you all next time. Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

Fireworks 2021

Sunday nights in August are fireworks nights, and I attended the show tonight. Mayor Tortimer was standing outside of town hall, encouraging me to watch some stuff explode.

Tortimer: The Fireworks Show is today, sprout! Time to kick back and watch some stuff explode!

He handed out Roman candles and sparklers, and I used one of the Roman candles to burn his shell. It’s an annual tradition for me. 😉

Of course, the villagers in town were enjoying the show too. Wolfgang even wondered what fireworks look like from behind.

Wolfgang: You ever wonder what fireworks look like from behind, wolfman?
Probably the same, except you see smoke coming from their butts.

I stopped over at the southern bridge to take a good look.

Fireworks festival.

Maelle asked me to make a delivery, so I took the item (a grape shirt) from Ducky to Lucky. 😛 Maelle rewarded me with a pinball machine, although it looked like her head was in a bird cage when I spoke to her.

Maelle: Oh, really? Well, thanks for delivering it to Lucky.

I did some bug-hunting (and a little fishing), and I earned 150,000 bells in an hour-long session.

See you all next time!

Simon Moves In

I got to see the inside of Rizzo’s house for the first time tonight, and it’s rather odd. He has a couple pieces of exotic furniture, three gyroids near the center of the room, and…a sleigh?

There was a new house on the beach in the southwest part of town, and I found Simon the monkey inside. I’m not a fan of monkeys in general (except Champ), but I guess it could be worse.

Simon: Eep! My place still isn't ready, and neither am I! I'm Simon, and I just moved here today.

I had Simon in my town of Bananas once.

Pascal was in town tonight, standing on the northwest bridge. I went to the ocean and found a scallop, and took it over to him. He commented about how funny plankton are.

Pascal: Plankton are HILARIOUS, maaan! I love those guys.

He gave me a ship deck (flooring) in return for the scallop.

I did a little bug-hunting, but I wasn’t up to a long session tonight. So I stopped shortly after I earned about 100k for the night.

I might be back with another entry on Sunday, because I would like to participate in the fireworks festival once before the month ends.
