Sharks and Fireflies

Today, Curly asked me if I have an ant.

Curly: So, Jeff, you have an ant, right?
Yes. And I have an uncle, too!

He was asking about an ant that I caught off of a piece of candy. He wanted me to trade it for a kitchen wall, and I gladly agreed to the offer.

Now that June is here, there are some notable new bugs and fish available to be caught. That includes sharks and fireflies, and I spent waaaaaaay too long trying to get a screenshot that included one of each. I caught a few sharks, but they weren’t near the part of the river where I would also see fireflies. So here are screenshots of a shark and some fireflies, separately. šŸ˜›

I caught a shark! Check out that toothy grin!
Several fireflies near the river in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I also caught my first emperor butterfly, tarantula, goliath beetle, rainbow stag, and ocean sunfish of the year. šŸ‘

I caught an ocean sunfish! I'm feeling pretty sunny now!
As big as this is, it still looks small compared to the ones in New Horizons.

I also got scared by my first oak silk moth. šŸ˜† But we’re just one month away from the peak bug-hunting season (July and August). I plan on having another fun summer of hunting bugs (and sharks) this year. šŸ™‚

At the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed K.K. Jazz for me, which is definitely not one of my favorites.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Jazz.

Here are a few other quick notes about today’s session:

  • I found a lovely lamp in the recycle bin. It looked like Bushido! šŸ˜‰
  • I shot down a balloon present that contained a robo-sofa.
  • Mint bought a sea bass from me for a whopping 211 bells. šŸ˜†

Yesterday, I posted my latest City Folk Moments video. It features highlights from February through May, along with Tom Nook’s wanted poster from his criminal days. šŸ˜‰ Please check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.

  1. I just started a new town, and I’m excited to be playing the game from scratch again!

How would you say this game holds up is it still a good time for you? I hear a lot of people say it’s the weakest entry, but I dunno i always loved it

    1. Nice! Good luck with your new town! šŸ™‚

I still enjoy playing it, and I don’t think it’s the weakest entry (I’d say Wild World is, but all of the games have their strengths and weaknesses.)

  2. Haha. I like how Gabi said that there was NO food outside, YET there were some cherries in the trees she could pick.

  3. Those Oak Silk Moths have always scared me as well for an unknown reason. I remember in like 2009 ACCF super late at night when everyone else was asleep and all of a sudden Iā€™d hear it and would sometimes get scared haha.
