In Sassy Shape

As expected, I received Roscoe’s goodbye letter in the mail today.

Jeff, Thanks for being here for me. I'm a better animal for knowing you. I'm leaving Forest behind, but I'll be thinking of you in my new home! -Your pal, Roscoe
Good luck in your new home, Roscoe!

I believe this now makes Antonio my longest-tenured villager; he’s lived in Forest since Festivale 2023. And speaking of Antonio, I also got a letter from him in the mail today. He is over his cold now, and he sent me a righty desk as thanks for the medicine I gave him.

Over by the museum, I ran into Big Top, who was out looking for bugs. He said the sunny weather is all he needs to be happy. Well, that and his bug net, some bug-attracting spray, and some berry crumble.

Big Top: A huh huh huh! I've got my net, a can of Bug-C'mere Spray, and some berry crumble!

When I visited Felicity, she said she needed a photo of herself with a fossil to include with her entry for the “Little Miss Paleontology” contest. She already had a fossil in her house, even though most of it was off-screen. But I took a photo for her anyway. 😛

Felicity: But I need a picture of me standing next to a fossil for my application packet.

But it turns out that she was just asking me to get (another) fossil for her. Luckily for her, I had just come from the museum, where Blathers identified a couple of fossils for me. So I gave her an ankylo skull, and in return, she gave me an arcade machine. I left and re-entered her house to see her new fossil, and I took another photo. Here you go, Felicity.

A photo of Felicity and her two fossils.

Back outside, Mint told me that she had her usual Saturday massage, this time with essences of pound cake and chocolate. She said she has to keep herself in sassy shape. 😆

Mint: If we don't keep ourselves in sassy shape, one day you'll wake up and see that your sass has passed!

At town hall, I found a pine table in the recycle bin. It wood make a fine gift for someone.

Two of my villagers asked for new things to say today. For Nana’s greeting, I told her to say “I’m a monkey.” And for Mint’s catchphrase, I asked her to say “it’s minty.”

Mint: So...it's minty. I'll get lots of attention with that. I'll use it, it's minty!

I noticed that my savings balance was approaching a new million milestone, so I went on a fruit run. I made 10+ trips gathering fruit, and I got my balance up to 66 million bells.

Your current balance is 66,000,000 bells.

One Lucky Dab

I saw Nana and Roscoe having a conversation yesterday afternoon, but it was already over by the time I got to speak with them. They were both depressed, and Nana said she needed some alone time. No problem, monkey, I understand.

Nana: I'm sorry... I think I need some alone time, I'm Nana.

Over by my southernmost bridge, I found Wisp’s empty lamp!

Finding an empty lamp on the ground.

It was too early in the day for Wisp, so I came back later after 8 p.m. I had to make a full circle around town before I found him outside of town hall. He said he was scared of the dark! 👻

Wisp: And nighttime is really dark! And dark is scaaaaaaary!

I told him I found his lamp, and he slipped inside of it. I had to go into my attic to rub the lamp and summon Wisp. He asked what I wanted for a reward, and I decided to ask for a hat. How cool would it be if he gave me a crown? But he ended up giving me an outback hat instead.

Wisp: OK! Here you go! It's an outback hat!

I decided to put it on for now, but I probably won’t wear it for long. But I’ll wear it for at least one g’day, mate.

Today, I found Rosoce all packed up with his belongings in boxes. He’s riding off into the sunset. Have a nice journey, Roscoe! We’ll probably meet again someday.

Roscoe: It's cute that you're so sad, Sugar J. But I told you I'd be leaving someday.

Chip was in town for a dab-only fishing tourney today. I caught just one fish, and it happened to be a dab.

I caught a dab! And I'm feeling fab!

I took it over to Chip, and he measured it for me: 23.6 inches. That was (significantly) larger than Felicity’s 19.2-inch dab, so I took over the top spot. My prize was a cabin wardrobe.

Chip: And of course, the prize... A cabin wardrobe! Yes! All for you!

It was only about 1 p.m. though, so I wasn’t liking my odds of it holding up for the rest of the tourney.

Big Top asked me for a mole cricket, so I listened for one as I walked around town. I eventually caught one and took it back to Big Top…only for him to give me a centipede in return! That’s the last thing I would ever want!

Big Top: All righty then, let me give you a centipede in exchange, in a sock!

Antonio has been sick with a cold, so I gave him some medicine yesterday and today. Get well soon!

I ended my session for the afternoon, but I returned later to find a letter in the mail from Chip. To my surprise, I won the tourney! That’s really lucky when you consider I only caught one fish! Chip attached a silver trophy to the letter.

I then went over to the Roost to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he performed K.K. Cruisin’ for me. An oldie but goodie.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Cruisin'.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I’ll see you next time!

Mint’s Cricket

Today, Roscoe told me he was thinking about moving out of town.

Roscoe: Recently I've been thinking long and hard about leaving this town.

I thought about it for a moment, and I decided to let him go. He has lived in Forest for two years, from back when I still had eight crankies in town. But he’s stuck around longer than I thought he would, so I have no problem letting him go at this point. He’s not leaving immediately though, so I should still see him again next week anyway.

Mint asked me for a mole cricket, so I kept an eye out for one. Well actually, I kept an ear open, since their unmistakable sound is their giveaway. I heard one over near Able Sisters, so I dug a few holes until I found the little guy.

I caught a mole cricket! Proceeding with interrogation!

When I (eventually) found Mint again, I gave her the cricket and she rewarded me with 528 bells. Interestingly, I just now realized that “Mint” and “Cricket” are both names of mobile service companies here in the U.S. 😛

Antonio asked me to deliver a package to Felicity, in a hole.

Antonio: Truck this over to Felicity, in a hole!

Felicity wasn’t in a hole, but I gave her the gift anyway. It was a dirt-clod wall, and she seemed way too excited for someone who just got some dirty wallpaper. But yeah, she was really digging it.

Felicity: NO WAY! Ohmigosh, it's a dirt-clod wall! I'm totally gonna cry, mimimi!
Maybe you should calm down before you soil yourself. 😆

Now if she did live in a hole, maybe a dirty wall would make sense! 😛 When I returned to Antonio, he thanked me for making the delivery and he rewarded me with a cabin couch.

In the recycle bin at town hall, I found a refrigerator. I don’t need to keep it, but I’ll gladly sell it for some cold hard cash. 💰

Later on, I went to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked him for a random song, and he performed K.K. Fusion for me.

Watching K.K. Slider perform in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) for Nintendo Wii, while wearing my 2025 shirt.
Yes, I’m still playing ACCF here in 2025!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! I hope to see you next time. 🙂
