Last night was New Year’s Eve, and I started up the game about 15 minutes before midnight. Mayor Tortimer was standing outside of town hall, and he stated the obvious.
I stayed for the countdown to 2025… Happy New Year! 🎉
The fireworks began, and I made my rounds. I found a new house in the southwest part of town, and Felicity was inside!
Since it was after midnight, it was technically 2025 when I met her. For a moment, I was trying to think if she should count as a December or a January arrival. Even after midnight, Animal Crossing games still count a day to be the previous day until the new day officially starts at 6 a.m. But then I realized that it was a moot point, because clearly her house was there when I loaded up the game on December 31st regardless, even if I didn’t see it until after midnight. 😛 So she is a December 2024 arrival, but just barely.
She has lived here before, but it’s been a while; it was back in 2013. I don’t think I was a big fan of hers back then…will this time be different? I’m not so sure, but we’ll see.
I played again this afternoon, and I received several letters in the mail wishing me a happy new year. They were from Ruby, Antonio, Roscoe, Nana, Mint, Mom, and Big Top.
Mom also attached 1,000 bells to her letter.
But the main reason I played today is to get the limited-edition New Year’s shirt for 2025! Tortimer handed it to me outside of town hall.
It has a snake on it, because 2025 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac. Here’s a look at the front and back:
Don’t forget to pick yours up, if you’re interested! I used my Scott character to pick up an extra one too, just in case I accidentally sell this one or something. 😛
Felicity was out and about today, and she is planning on being even more energetic and hyperactive in the new year. Uh-oh, I have a feeling she’s going to annoy me. 😛
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope 2025 is a good year for us all! Maybe a new game this year? We can only hope!
