Yo, Forest!

As expected, I found Ruby’s goodbye letter in the mail today. I wonder if she’s up there, looking down at us. From the moon, most likely. 🌚

Like, to Jeff, I'm gonna move. It's hard to leave, since we're BFFs and stuff... But I have a picture of you that I took when you weren't looking, so I'll never forget you! Like, from Ruby!

I also got a letter from the snowman I built last week. He sent me a snowman fridge, which I sold for a cool 8,888 bells.

Antonio was sick with a cold, so I went to the store to buy him some medicine. Get well soon, Ant-Man! 🐜

At the Roost tonight, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song and he performed “K.K. Blues” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Blues.

When I visited Marina, she tried to describe hip-hop music…or at least, according to Antonio.

Marina: According to Antonio, it's all... YO! Yo, Forest... YO! Marina in the house!

To get a better idea of the music, maybe she should have a chat with another octopus-like character named Marina…from Splatoon 2. 🐙🎶

Robin asked me to find her a centipede, and I agreed to help out. However, it took me a while to track one down. But I did find one eventually, after 20+ minutes.

Robin: Is this...? It IS! You brought the centipede I wanted!

After all that searching, Robin rewarded me with just a CD player. Forget the CD, I’m the one that was spinning around town, circling around from rock to rock, looking for the centipede. And she brought the music to a screeching halt with that gift. 😛

The snow will be gone in just a few more days! Bring on spring! I’ll see you next time.

Inner Charm, Ruby’s Retreat

I got to see the inside of Marina’s house today. She said her house was a mess, but it really wasn’t. It looks really nice! Or should I say…lovely? 😉

The inside of Marina's house in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I spoke with Nana outside, and she said the best thing about moving to Forest was getting to meet Mint. But she said this as Mint was walking by! Did she just say this because she saw Mint coming over? We may never know. 😛

Nana: I think maybe the best thing about coming to live here is that I got to meet Mint!

But moments later, things weren’t so cheery. I listened in on a conversation between them, and Nana felt like her life was so boring. So she asked Mint how to be more interesting. Mint responded by confirming that Nana looked “plain” on the outside, although she suggested Nana has “inner charm.” 😆

Mint, to Nana: And while you might look a little plain on the outside, I'm sure you have lots of inner charm, it's minty.

But I got dragged into the middle of the situation when Mint put me on the spot! She asked me which one of them had more inner charm! That’s a no-win situation there. 😆

Mint: So tell us, if you were to look at us and judge us right now, who would you say had more inner charm?

Since the whole purpose of the conversation was to make Nana feel better about herself, I said that Nana had more inner charm. And that indeed made Nana feel better! But it also made Mint feel depressed that nobody ever says that about her. Oof. This whole thing was her idea though, and I was basically just agreeing with her suggestion anyway. So I didn’t feel bad for her.

Mint: Oh, drop it. You are NOT invited to my pity party, it's minty...

When I went to visit Ruby, I was surprised to see that she was all packed up and ready to move out of town. I didn’t really want her to leave yet. (She moved in last March.)

Ruby: Hiya, li'l guy! I know this is kinda sudden, but I've decided to move to another town.
Another town, or another planet?

Good luck wherever you go, Ruby!

Over at the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. I had a howling good time as he took me on a safari. 🦁

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Safari.

I haven’t made many snowmen in Animal Crossing this winter (in any of the games), and the snow will be gone in another ten days. So when I saw two snowballs very close to each other, I rolled them up into a snowman tonight. Surprisingly, he was perfect! So he should be sending me a gift in the mail next time.

Snowman: I am an ivory idol! A frozen confection! And I owe it all to your skills! You have my eternal gratitude, sir!

Punchy asked me to catch a centipede for him, so I put on my walking shoes and did just that.

Punchy: Mrmpht! I can't believe it! You did it! It's a centipede!

Punchy rewarded me with 528 bells. That’s about five bells per foot. 😉

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I’ll see you next time!

Tuna Salad Eating Contest?

There was a fishing tournament today, and Ruby seemed annoyed that so many people were taking it seriously. She said she was just in it for the fun of it.

Ruby: Boy, some people are, like, taking this Fishing Tourney soooo seriously...
If you’re just in it for fun though, why should that bother you?

Big Top seemed to be confused about what type of fish event it was! He asked if I would be entering the tuna salad eating contest!

Big Top: By the way, bud, are you gonna enter the Tuna Salad Eating Contest?

But honestly, I think that was just random dialogue. It’s just a coincidence that he said it during a fishing tournament. I did, however, catch a tuna of my own a few minutes later!

I caught a tuna! I only wish I'd caught it soona!

But I didn’t want to give it to Chip…and I didn’t want to eat it on a sandwich either. I decided to catch another fish to give to Chip, and it was a dab. However, it was only 23.5 inches long, while Monty had caught an 85.3 inch tuna!!

Chip: Monty caught an impressive 85.3-inch tuna. Yup!

Monty set the bar really high! With a fish that big, no sea bass had a chance of winning. And even my tuna might not top it…so I just went to the shop and sold my tuna instead. I don’t need another fishing trophy anyway. 😛

I saved and quit my game, but I returned later on. Chip confirmed that Monty was the eventual winner, and I got a “Good Sport Award” in the mail for being a loser. 😆

Results Announcement. The Good Sport Award for the Fishing Tourney on February 8th, 2025, goes to Jeff! Can't wait to see you compete again! -From Chip

Monty asked me to make a delivery to Nana…the other monkey in town. I agreed to help out, and the gift was a paw shirt. Is that the monkey’s paw? Uh-oh! 😛

Nana: Well, would you look at that! A paw shirt!

I wondered if this delivery would have some unintended consequences, but…not really. Monty just rewarded me with a kiddie wall. 😛

I then went over to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he tried to put me to sleep.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Lullaby.

Goodnight, everyone! 🌙
