Soon as I started up my game, I saw that I had mail. It was the biwa lute Bushido asked me to order him last night. (Bushido saw one in one of my animals’ houses last night and wanted it, so I offered to order him one). So I wrote a letter and went into town hall to mail it to him.
I finally logged in as my other characters, Guest and Scott. I killed some roaches in Guests’s house. Then I had Scott put some more hybrids in storage. I also had him collect and sell enough fruit to order another golden chair (the one I took for my basement. I believe I mentioned it in an earlier blog entry).
As for not having patterns as a path, I actually made a couple wrong turns while navigating Forest. I’m so used to the paths being there that I twice briefly thought I was somewhere other than where I really was. Two new black roses appeared today, both of which popped up where the path normally would have been. I wonder if that means they wouldn’t have shown up at all if the patterns were there. Or perhaps they still would have appeared, but in a different spot? I really don’t know the answer to that one.
Anyway, I decided to count my black and gold roses. I have 41 home-grown gold roses, and 64 black roses (which can be turned into gold roses when I’m ready). I’ll still need many, many more. I’m not sure how many I’ll need to ultimately line all my paths will gold roses, but it will surely be in the hundreds. It might even top 1,000, but I don’t know. So I’ll be working on my town for a long time to come.
I’m wondering how you got gold roses.
You first have to breed black roses by placing red roses near each other and keeping them watered. Once you have a black rose, let it wilt and water it with the golden watering can to make it turn gold. I have a lot now, but it took me several years of keeping up with them.
