Seeing Multiples

Purrl was feeling sick today, so I bought some medicine for her. Get well soon, kitty cat.

Purrl: I haven't felt THIS terrible since I sipped a gallon of fruit punch...
How do you sip an entire gallon?

I got some good news from Lucy tonight: She told me that she’s moving out of town! I did not try to stop her.

Lucy: I just feel like I need a fresh start, woof woof.
Are you starting a new life as a dog?

Tom locked himself out of his house, and I fished his key out of the river for him. He’s my new buddy here in Forest, so I should be nice to him…for a while. πŸ˜‰ Until his grumpy butt starts getting on my nerves in a few weeks. πŸ˜€

I caught a key! ...Whose key is this?

He appreciated the help, and he said he would tell everyone that I helped.

Tom: I'm gonna tell everyone how you helped me (but I may skip the part about losing my key in the river)!
It may be a hard story to tell without mentioning that part.

He gave me exactly 600 bells for my reward.

Goldie asked me to find some trendy furniture for her. I tried giving her a school chair that I shot down from a balloon, but it wasn’t trendy enough. So I bought a cabana lamp from Nook’s; she would accept it either. When I later shot down another balloon present, it had a starman inside: She refused it too. I like Goldie, but she’s being very picky tonight. Buying for her is ruff, ruff.

After I was done with all my regular tasks, I went bug-hunting. Back and forth across the beach, sometimes moving to other parts of town as well. At one point, I spotted three moths hanging out in front of Kitty’s house! Three moths in one place may be a common occurrence in real life, but it doesn’t happen very often in Animal Crossing games. I ran around to scare them all away.

And just seconds later, I spotted two sharks together…after not seeing any sharks for nearly an hour of play time before that.

Two sharks show up on-screen at once.

I played for about an hour and 20 minutes tonight. Some of my notable catches include a scorpion, a hercules beetle, three giant beetles, two rainbow stags, an elephant beetle, two atlas beetles, three scarab beetles, two goliath beetles, two hammerhead sharks, one regular shark, and at least five emperor butterflies. My best run of the night scored me 70k bells, but I made about 230,000 bells overall.

Tom Nook: Ah, for all of that, I'll give you 70,200 bells!

Of the three scarab beetles I found, two of them were appeared at the same time, right next to each other. I seemed to be finding many bugs and fish in bunches tonight. πŸ˜›

Are any of you enjoying the summer bug-hunting fun? If so, tell me how it’s going in the comments! I’ll see you all next time. πŸ™‚

  1. Its been almost a week since butch left and I don’t know when a new villager will move in. Can you tell me how long it would take because I don’t want to time-travel

  2. I sure hope there’s a villager dialogue update I’m getting rather tired of the boring new horizons villagers that constantly spout the same often very inoffensive and boring dialogue. In my opinion the dialogue peaked in wild world where the villagers had rotating interests so even villagers of the same personality variant could stand out from one another.

    1. I agree new leaf does that too, but only after a while. I can’t even count how many times bangle said she lost her voice singing heavy metal. The villagers should have so much dialogue that they never repeat themselves. Like maybe each time a villager says something the game should make it so you never hear that again.

  3. I was just exploring my town in NH, trying to catch a fly, but I was walking south and I see a scorpion. My mind saw it as a spider at first and I have a fear of spiders so I literally let go of the controller immediately. By the time I had processed what had happened, the scorpion bit me (and I still don’t have a scorpion in my museum).

  4. I been swapping going bug hunting in both Wild World and City Folk (New Horizons everyday). Anyway when I went bug hunting tonight in City Folk I made nearly 95k bells!

    1. Nice! I was thinking the 11pm hour was the best hour for bugs. But last night, things picked up just after midnight. It sure helps to have Nook ‘n’ Go this time of year!

      1. I usually like to start bug hunting at 7pm and continue thru the night. The evening cicadas stop appearing after 7 so that’s when it’s the best time. Also as someone who has Nook’N’Go I can definitely agree with you Jeff!

  5. So in my I was going island hunting when I saw a tail. At first I thought it was fang, but better. IT WAS WHINTEY. I invited her right away. I know I’m finding audie, but I think Whitney is a placeholder for now.

  6. Sorry, I’m out of the loop as I don’t really follow your CF blog, but is this a different Forest than your classic City Folk Forest? Or why is the store Nook N Go?

    1. No, this is my regular ACCF Forest. Once you’ve had Nookington’s, the game allows you to revert to Nook ‘n’ Go or Nookway if you prefer. Since Nook ‘n’ Go has the longest hours (open until 1 a.m.), and since I mostly play at night, it allows me to still buy/sell things when the other stores would already be closed. It’s particularly useful in summer, when the valuable late-night beetles are out.

  7. I recently saw your Beat villager by species and I have to agree with the majority of your choices. Also I’ve been waiting all day to find out the New villager in NH. I’m so excited to see who it is.

  8. Hey, I’ve played the AC series for years (City Folk and Leaf) and I’m getting very bored and tired. I’ve been taking a break for a while since the games feel stale and I don’t want playing to seem like a chore. Have you ever taken a break and is it a good idea?

    1. Since I want to keep my blogs current, I don’t take long breaks, but I have changed the frequency of how often I play (from daily to weekly). But yeah, if you’re getting burned out, taking a break is definitely a good idea! Sometimes you need to recharge your mental batteries, so to speak. It’s okay to play different games or do something else until you’re ready to return. Good luck! πŸ™‚
