Poncho Parts, Grizz Lies

Now that November is here, mushrooms can be found around town. Some, like the elegant and rare mushrooms, are quite valuable. And each day, one of the mushrooms will actually be a piece of the mush set in disguise.

I thought it was just a mushroom, but it was really a mush stool!

Thanks to my Halloween haul and November bank account interest (among other things), my savings balance reached 59 million bells recently.

Your current balance is 59,000,000 bells.

Nana was sick with a cold today, so I gave her some medicine. Here’s a rare screenshot of an upside-down pink monkey. 😛

Nana flips as she takes her medicine.

Poncho was all packed up and ready to move out of town today. He’s a nice guy, but I’m not upset that he’s leaving. Good luck wherever you end up, Poncho!

Poncho: I decided to take my awesomeness on tour, and I was bummed I wouldn't be able to say bye to people.

Tom asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek, and I agreed to give it a try. He gave me 15 minutes to find him, Egbert, and Grizzly. He said if I didn’t win, I’d be hopeless. 😆 Even though that sounds a bit rude, it’s basically true. Fifteen minutes should be plenty of time to find three villagers (even if you’re not rushing to find them).

Tom: If you can't find all 3 of us in that time, then, well, I guess you're basically hopeless.

After a minute or two, I saw someone behind a tree and I thought I found someone. But it was just Queenie, who wasn’t even playing. 😆 But shortly after that, I did find Grizzly trying to hide behind a sign post.

A couple minutes later, I found Egbert behind Tom’s house, and then Tom hiding behind the museum. Tom congratulated me on my win, and he gave me a mini harmonoid.

Immediately after the game ended, Grizzly pinged me. He asked if I was interested in selling my flame shirt, but I said no. He then hinted he would have paid me 370,000 bells for it, which is a complete, outright lie! They’ll never pay anywhere near that much money. For anything…but especially not a shirt.

Grizzly: I guess I'll have to find some other use for my 370,000 bells, bear with.
That’s a Grizz-lie.

After making my rounds, I ran into Grizzly again. He wanted me to deliver a message to River. He told me to tell her to ask him about “outfits.” So I switched to River’s account, and she now has bedhead. 😛 When River reminded Grizzly about outfits, Grizzly gave her a big bro’s shirt.

Grizzly: Have a big bro's shirt! Enjoy!

That’s all for tonight, but I have been working on another guide that should be done soon-ish. See you all again soon! Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

Halloween 2023

Yesterday, I got to see the inside of Egbert’s house, now that he’s all unpacked. He has a lot of robo furniture, including some robotic gyroids (dinkoids, I believe).

The inside of Egbert's house.

Today, I ran into my old buddy Bob in the city. He asked why there aren’t any restaurants around. That’s Bob, always thinking about food. 😛

Bob: Where the heck are all the restaurants around here?

The Halloween festivities began at 6:00 p.m. today, and I dressed up as a mummy. This look qualifies as a costume, so I was able to trick-or-treat to get candy from indoor villagers.

Tom: Oh, it's you! I didn't recognize you in costume for a minute, there!

I began my search for Jack. Along the way, I also tried to trap my outdoor villagers so they wouldn’t hound me for candy. Unfortunately, I didn’t do this before 6:00, so it was trickier than I would have liked.

But I went around town, finding Jack repeatedly to score spooky furniture.

Jack: Ah, good work, pumpkin. You figured out which of us is the real Jack, czar of Halloween!

Once I had all five of my outdoor villagers trapped, it was pretty easy to find Jack over and over. I ended up with an impressive haul, if I do say so myself. 😛

My haul of spooky Halloween furniture in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF).

I sold my 26 spooky items for a grand total of 268,060 bells. 🙂

I hope you all had fun and scored some goodies (whether it was in-game items, real candy, or some other treat). Happy Halloween! 🎃

Update: Here is a gameplay video showing much of my night:

Egbert’s Return

Spork’s replacement moved into town yesterday, and it was my old buddy Egbert!

Egbert: I was worried that no one had noticed me moving here!
I noticed! Don’t worry, you don’t have to walk on eggshells here.

He previously lived in Forest from 2012-13, and he’s my 2nd-favorite chicken in the series (behind Hank, who hasn’t appeared since GameCube). It’s good to have him back! 🙂

In the city, Phineas gave me a bunny balloon. He started talking about rabbits, right as Francine was walking by. Do you think she heard him? 😆

Phineas: Keep a tight grip on that balloon! Rabbits have a way of getting away from you, you know!

Gabi has been asking me to get her some musical furniture, but none of the shops have had any. Today, she insisted that only I could help her out, because not even the internet could help her. 😆

Gabi: Only you can get me my furniture, Dr. J. Even the internet can't help me!
Actually, she already has some musical furniture. She has that piano, and a xylophone that was off-screen.

Egbert was out of his house today, and he was looking forward to Halloween coming up on Tuesday.

Egbert: Even though creepy stuff always goes down on Halloween, I'll be OK as long as I get candy.

I may actually participate in Halloween this year; I enjoy the event in this game. 🙂 So I may be back then with more. 🙂
