Ugly Grass, Ugly Shirt

Now that October is here, the pukey, yellowish grass is here as well. Other than the arrival (and departure) of snow, this has got to be the most glaring grass color change of the year. Yuck.

The ugly grass of October.
“Look away, I’m hideous.”

While in Shampoodle, I stood behind Harriet while I opened the menu and it looked like I was her. Or she was me. 😛

Harriet appears to the be the player.

Spork was telling me about a dream he had today, and he said dreaming of wearing an ugly shirt was the best dream ever!

Spork: Oh, and I was also wearing an ugly shirt, and it looked SO good on me! It was the best dream ever!

He wanted me to find an ugly shirt for him, but I wasn’t interested in helping him. Requests for a specific item are too much trouble to fool with, since I’d have to order it and wait for it to arrive another day.

Nana already wanted to move out of town, but I told her to stay. It took two tries, but she agreed to stick around.

Nana: What's wrong with me?! The answer is so obvious! I'm going to stay, po po!

Eating Utensil Returns

On Tuesday, Pete met River outside her door to give her another piece of old DLC.

Dear River, This mush hanger really pulls the Mushroom Series together. Have you collected all the other pieces yet? Now's your chance! -Nintendo

Even though the letter refers to it as a mush hanger, the item itself is called a Mushroom rack. It was originally distributed in 2012.

After I switched to Jeff, Queenie had some rude comments about River and her small house!

Queenie: I don't know how she can stand living in that shoe box! I'd pay off that loan at ANY cost!
Can’t you just stick your head in the sand and ignore it? You haven’t expanded your house either, you know.

As expected, Marcel sent me a goodbye letter in the mail.

Dear Jeff, Today's the day I leave Forest. I hope there's someone as fun as you in my new town. Take care! -From Marcel

Gabi asked me to deliver a package to Poncho, and there was a kimono inside. But Poncho didn’t seem to know what to do with it. 😛

Poncho: This is a kimono, right? Uhh, what's this supposed to mean?

He did try it on, though. Gabi rewarded me with an iron frame, which is an even stranger gift that a kimono. 😉

Tom has been sick with a cold, so I gave him some medicine Tuesday and yesterday. By today, he was feeling better. He gave me a TV with a VCR to thank me for the medicine.

Marcel’s replacement moved in today, and it was yet another fairly recent villager that returned! It’s Spork the pig!

Spork: Whew... Unpacking sure is hard work! I think I'm actually breaking a sweat for the first time in years...

He’s returning after just two years! (He previously moved out in 2021.) I’m not sure why I’m getting so many recent returning villagers lately. But Spork is one that I’d rather stay away.

Mime to Go

Tonight, I just barely made it to the Roost before K.K. Slider’s concert ended at midnight. I asked him for a random song, and he played K.K. Western for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Western.

Over by the fountain, Queenie tried to convince me that she’s prettier than a field of fireflies…at least during the light of day. 😛

Queenie: I feel so sad...for those who never see me at night! I'm prettier than a field of fireflies!
There is a fountain there. But just like Queenie’s beauty, you can’t see it. 😉

As expected, Marcel is now packed up and ready to move out of Forest. He was surprisingly sad about leaving. Even though he’s certainly not my favorite dog, he is a good puppy. I just wish I could wash that clown makeup off his face. 😛

Marcel: Oh, no, now you've started it... I'm so happy, I can't stop crying! Boo hooty hoo! Snerffle snork!

I shot down a balloon present, and it contained a green pipe. Unfortunately, you can’t use these as warp pipes like you can in New Horizons.

Shooting down a balloon present in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

I posted my latest City Folk Moments video yesterday, and it includes highlights from this summer. Check it out if you’re interested. 🙂
