Over the Waterfall

On Wednesday, I received Goldie’s goodbye letter in the mail. 🙁 I hate to even type that sentence. Oof. I’ll miss her.

Dearest Jeff, I'm leaving Forest today... I know it's the right step, but I'm still sad, because I'll be leaving you. I hope I see you again someday. Signed, Goldie

And then I saw the empty spot where she lived, right next door to me. If there is one good thing about that spot, it’s that villagers who’ve lived there have mostly lasted a long time. And Goldie was no exception, with a lengthy 3.5 year stay in Forest.

I was looking to change out of my Halloween costume, so I bought a BB shirt at Able Sisters. The cavalier outfit went back into storage.

I gave Curt another dose of medicine Wednesday, and he was all better by today. He thanked me for the help by giving me a shower. 🚿

Curt: I'm not the type to go throwing presents around, but I want you to have this shower.

I found Pascal standing on a bridge today, so I gave him a scallop I had attached to a letter. He told me that eating lobster is like eating a big bug. 😆

Pascal: Don't kid yourself, maaan. If you eat lobster, you're just eating a big bug.

He gave me a ship deck (flooring) before diving into the river. Since he started on the upper level of town, I had a chance to watch him go over the waterfall. 🙂

Goldie’s replacement has not moved in yet, but I’m sure I’ll meet him/her next week. Please don’t be another cranky! I will scream if that happens. 😛

Update: I posted an annual slideshow of my best ACCF screenshots today. Here is The 14th Year in Pictures:

Goldie Going, Gone

I visited Curt today, and I decided to choke him.

Curt: Hack, hack! Cough, choke!

Just kidding, of course. He was sick with a cold, and I gave him some medicine. See how nice I am? I gave him medicine and I didn’t choke him! 😛

I shot down a balloon present, and I timed the photo perfectly. Pop!

The gift inside was a modern desk.

At the Roost, I checked out K.K. Slider’s show. He performed Rockin’ K.K. for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Rockin' K.K..

When Harry moved in recently, I neglected to mention that he was my 7th cranky villager in town! But if anyone else moved out, the odds are it would be a cranky, right? Wrong. And if that wasn’t bad enough, it’s Goldie that’s moving out!

Goldie: Well, there's no point in hiding it. You've probably guessed, but I've decided to leave Forest.
Nooooooo!

My favorite villager Goldie! 🙁 She’s also the villager who has lived in town longest, since 2019; that’s three and a half years! 🙁 I’m sad to see her go, but I’m sure we will meet again someday.

Her departure will also leave Forest with just one female villager, Queenie! I’m sure this is the most unbalanced any of my towns have ever been.

On a lighter note, I have posted a new City Folk Moments video. I hope you’ll check it out.

See you all next time!

Halloween 2022

It’s Halloween, and I joined in the festivities in City Folk tonight. I had a few pieces of candy that I bought or had in storage, and I later picked up some from around Guest’s house too.

Curt was the first Jack-wannabe that ambushed me. I gave him a piece of candy, and he said he’ll savor it on toast.

Curt: Mmmm! I'll be sure to savor it, on toast!
That sounds disgusting, to be curt.

If you’ve only played New Horizons, you should know that villagers don’t give you anything for candy in this game. Giving them candy just spares you from having them ruining your items or clothes. 😛

I quickly realized that I needed a costume to get more candy from villagers that were home. So I tried dressing like a hot dog.

But when I visited Harry, he told me he can’t wait to see what types of costumes people will be wearing. That clued me in that this outfit does not count as a costume. Oops.

Harry: I can hardly wait to see what sort of ridiculous getups everyone's in, beach bum.
Heh yeah. Haven’t seen any ridiculous costumes yet, though.

So I went back home for a change of clothes. I dressed up as a cavalier, because I knew it counts as a “look” for Halloween. And sure enough, Tom saw it and handed over some candy.

Tom, offering candy: Your costume is, uh, just the sort of thing I'd expect from you.

Over by the museum, I spotted the one masked monster that didn’t run towards me. That was the real Jack.

Jack: Ah, good work, pumpkin. You figured out which of us is the real Jack, czar of Halloween!

I gave him a piece of candy, and he gave me a spooky lamp. Unfortunately, the clock struck twelve midnight just two minutes later, and the event came to a close. It was disappointing that I wasn’t able to play longer, but at least I participated. And that spooky clock sold for 10,310 bells. 🙂

Goldie, on the other hand, was glad that Halloween was over!

Goldie: Phew... Halloween is finally over, woof woof. And thank goodness for that!

I was surprised that she said that, but it was only because she was worried that people would play tricks on her. Aww, poor Goldie.

I hope you all had a fun, and safe, night! Happy Halloween! 🎃👻💀🧙‍♀️🍬🍭🍫
