Gulliver Goes Down!

Francine has officially moved out of town; I got her goodbye letter today. As usual when an animal moves out, I take regular flowers out of my “free flower” area and place them where the departing beast’s house was. That’s so the grass there regrows quicker.

I played between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. and saw that Pete was nowhere to be found. That, combined with the fact that no other visitors were in town, let me know that the UFO should be flying overhead later.

And true enough, it happened, and I shot it down and recovered the spaceship gear part for the 4th time. Will this be the time I get lucky and get the metroid? I wouldn’t mind the moai statue either. I’ll find out tomorrow.

Saharah Visits, Francine Packs

Saharah was in town today, looking for old wallpaper. Bob, Nana, Del, and Peaches gave me some. I also had two of them in storage, for six old wallpapers in total. That was enough for two of the rare wallpapers from Saharah.

One was the lunar horizon, which I already have in my basement. But it is one of my favorite wallpapers, so I may keep that as well. The other was a western vista. I’ve seen it on GameCube before of course, but this was my first time owning it in City Folk. It’s nice, but I don’t think I need to keep it.

The western vista wallpaper in my golden furniture room. When I went in Francine’s house, I saw her house full of boxes. She’s moving out. With no Rhonda and no Frankengaga (as we call Francine), I wouldn’t be surprised if Jorge never visited Forest again.

Francine: And treat yourself to a good splurge now and then! OK, you valve? And of course, you always have to have some fun with the catchphrases.

Bob: Huh huh huh! Doing nice stuff is like getting a bear hug around your heart, naked!A couple of other notes: I shot down a balloon present and got a koopa shell; and then later on, I caught a scorpion before I ended my play session for the night.

Sunday Night Fireworks

Tonight was the first fireworks festival of the year. (They’re held on Sunday nights in August).

The Fireworks Show starts now!Fireworks go off in the sky above Forest.I opened my gate at 6:58 p.m.  Around 7:20, Robin came in. We collected some sparklers and roman candles from Tortimer, and then started burning everything in sight: Each other, Tortimer, buildings, apples, animals, etc.

At one point we had our nets out and noticed how if you hit a flower with a net, some petals would fly loose. We wondered if you could kill a flower by hitting it with a net repeatedly. So we gave it a try. (And yes, she is VERY tan).

Robin, to the flowers: DIESurprisingly, the flowers didn’t die no matter how many times we hit them. So I learned something new about the game tonight. There was also one point where Robin was on BRB. So I buried a pitfall, pushed her in, and burned her with a roman candle. 😀

Jeff burns Robin as she's stuck in a pitfall. She left around 8:10. I caught some bugs (and a hammerhead shark) while I was waiting to see if anyone else came, but they didn’t. I ended up closing my gate by 8:20.

Robin: Sparkler action!Robin and Jeff torch Tortimer with roman candles.Jeff, burning Curly: Time to try some bacon!
