Dropping Anchor

I saw another former villager, Peaches, in the city. But I also saw Marina. At one point I think there was a rumor that octopi would not show up in the city. Clearly that’s not true.

Marina: I love checking out the latest model room. Well, technically, I love stealing the latest decorating tips!Pascal was in town. I gave him a scallop and he gave me an anchor in return. Then of course he jumped into the river.

Pascal dives into the river in ACCF.I shot down a purple balloon present and it contained a lab bench. There must have been some strong helium in that balloon!

Medicine for Pierce

I sold the bugs and fish I caught last night, and just the stuff I caught after Nook closed (1 a.m.) totaled up to 131,600 bells. Not bad for 45 minutes worth of hunting.

ToonZelda told me to bid on her auctions, so I checked out the auction house. But no items were there. I did see Moose in the city; he was once a Forest resident.

Moose: Whoa, it's already 5?! I blew way too much time at GracieGrace!Back in town, Bob asked me to make a delivery to Rosie, and I did the deed. Rosie acted like she didn’t want a present from Bob. But once she opened it, she loved the bamboo flooring and acted like it was the best thing ever.

Rosie: This is from Bob? I don't think I asked for anything from Bob...I went in the Able Sisters, and they had two almost identical shirts: The rose shirt and the rose sky shirt. But I had no interest in either of them.

Pierce: Medicine... I'm out of medicine... What am I gonna do, huh?!But first, I went back to Bob and told him the delivery was complete. He thanked me and gave me 528 bells for my trouble. I headed back around to Nook’s to buy the medicine and took it to Pierce. He said he felt a little better.

Pierce takes his medicine in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) for Nintendo Wii.Then, I switched to my Scott character. I had him finally take in the giant dharma I left for him. I put it next to the regular dharma in his house.

Bug-Off!

I went to the city and saw two familiar faces: Pippy, who lived in my town for a while (originally from Ash’s town Onett), and Static, who has lived in my GameCube town for 7+ years.

Static: Have you been over to GracieGrace yet? It's so famous that even I've heard of it, krzzt!Back in town, the Bug-Off was going on today, hosted by Nat (my friend Abbey’s boyfriend 😛 ), so I decided to look for bugs as I watered my flowers. Believe it or not, I don’t think I’ve participated in the Bug-Off before.

Nat: In the mean, I ask that you search out rare bugs and bring them back here to me forthwith!Ruby was in the lead with a 55-point jewel beetle. I tried donating a miyama stag I still had from last night, and it scored 49 points. Then, I caught a dynastid beetle (strong, tough, AND awesome), but it only scored 54 points…one shy of Ruby’s top score.

But after a while, I found a Hercules beetle, which netted me 116 points. It put me well into the lead with only about 20 minutes to go in the competition. My reward was a black bishop.

I caught a hercules beetle! It's the greatest beetle of them all!Nat: Yes, I'd say this fine insect is worth... 116 points!Later in the day, I started up the game again. Jorge wanted to play, so I opened my gate. He hadn’t been in my town for a long time, so he caught up with all my animals. We visited with a lot of them, and made fun of them in the process.

Jorge: Hammy broth. Jeff: With just a smack of ham.I got a letter confirming I won the Bug-Off, and I received my bug trophy. Just after 1:00 a.m. (when Nook ‘n’ Go closed), I started noticing some rare bugs. So we started bug hunting. I was hitting the jackpot. I caught three cyclommatuses, three scarab beetles, a golden stag, an elephant beetle, tons of goliath beetles, an oak silk moth, and more. And I even caught some good fish, including a blue marlin and a hammerhead shark.I caught a blue marlin! Hey there, little darlin'!

My pockets full of valuable bugs (and a marlin). I couldn’t sell my catches, but I think it was the best bug/fish hunt I ever had. Here are a couple of other pictures I took tonight, including one of Ruby contemplating something stupid. 😛
