Happy 4th of July!

It was raining in the city today, so again, no watering was necessary. When I got back in town, I stopped at the Able Sisters to display the bikini pattern I got from Abbey. I also displayed the rainbow bikini that was popular in my town last year.

Two bikinis on display in Able Sisters.Ruby had me a deliver a present (a modern desk) to Mint. After the delivery was done, Ruby gave me 528 bells for my trouble. I also saw Kaitlin in town. Her daughter was in Toshi, which is Bushido’s town.

I went into Nook’s to sell some items, and the total came to 1,776 bells! Very appropriate for the 4th of July! Unfortunately, I didn’t think to take a picture of it. Well I did, but after I already pressed the button to accept the sale, haha. (For those outside of the U.S., July 4, 1776 is the date the United States declared independence from Britain).

I caught the saw stag beetle that Del wanted. I gave it to him, and my reward? Not furniture… Not money… But a robust cicada!

Del: Fine work, dude. Take a robust cicada for a job well done, logjam. Also, Francine gave me a blue bookcase in exchange for a miyama stag beetle I had caught.

Francine: OK, then! Let's do this quickly and be done with it, little pig!

Flea Infestation, a Complete Bug Collection, and a Freaky Town

It was raining in the city today as I checked for new emotions at the theater. Still no Frillard emotions…It’s been a year and two months since Frillard has been in there!

I was tired of being a hot dog, so I bought a checkerboard tee from the Able Sisters and put it on. Del asked me to find a saw stag beetle for him. I guess Del is my second favorite villager (after Bob) now that Antonio and Chief are gone.

Del: How about it? You're a mighty bug hunter, right? Catch a saw stag beetle and bring it to me!I saw a pink balloon present and shot it down; it was a starman. I heard the sound of a flea jumping and I looked around to see where it was coming from. It was Pierce.

Pierce: Whoa. I don't itch anymore! Then, while walking down my dead end, I spotted Mint. She also had a flea problem!

Mint: You have to be kidding. Gross. Someone gave me fleas again, you valve. For Scott’s house, I was going to recreate a room I once made on GameCube. But then I noticed something…City Folk doesn’t have stones! The GameCube game had different shapes of large stones that you could put in your house. Leaning stones, mossy stones, standing stones, etc. Apparently Nintendo removed the whole rock garden set from City Folk and I never noticed until now. Bummer.

I had three golden roses that were gifts from a friend, probably close to two years ago. I had them near my gate, just left of the fountain. I’ve decided to put them in the “free flower” area where any visitor to my town can take them. I want to eventually have my town full of gold roses I bred myself. Hopefully the person who gave them to me won’t be offended, but I did keep them on display for nearly two years.

Later on in the day, I set out to finally catch the evening cicada. Even though I have already caught every bug in the game, I forgot to donate the evening cicada to the museum. Once I set out, it took me all of about 15 seconds to find and catch one. It’s a common bug, you just have to be playing between 4 and 7 p.m. I then took it to Blathers and he confirmed that the insect collection of the museum is now complete. All I need is the solemn painting and my whole museum will be done.

I caught an evening cicada! It likes the nightlife!Blathers: Hoo! Is it...even possible? Can the insect collection truly be complete?!I then arranged to meet Abbey, who was giving me a funny, skimpy bikini pattern that looks hilarious when male animals inevitably wear them. I gave her the rainbow bikini I got in Sarah’s town last year.

Submitting an inquirty to Freaky... Please wait a moment...Abbey then gave me a tour of her beautiful town.

Jeff walks down the golden brick path lined with gold roses in Freaky.Jeff: Crop circle? Abbey: We have aliens here yknow.Jeff, standing at a grave site: Who was here?

She also has some great ideas for rooms. There’s a disco hall, a movie theater, a spa, a sleepover room, and a house filled with DLC from all over the world.

Abbey, in her all-gold room: This literally hurts my eyes.Abbey, in her movie theater room: Isn't that an exciting film!Abbey's room full of DLC hats and masks.

She even had an outdoor maze for me to walk through. And a campfire. It was all very impressive.

Abbey shows me her campfire in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Friday Night Forest, Christmas in July, Golden Man

I opened up my gate shortly after 10:00, as is my usual for Friday nights. ToonZelda (TZ) came in. Apparently it was Christmas in July. She brought me a Jingle TV, which was DLC in Europe/Australia.

T Zelda: ho ho ho Jeff. Jeff: Merry Christmas, TZ.I was telling TZ I wondered who I would get to replace Chief. And she informed me that it had already happened! Pierce is my new neighbor.

Pierce: Yo! You must live right here in Forest! It seems like I’ve had him in my town before, although it may have been in my GameCube town. Or maybe a friend has/had him before. There’s so many animals in the Animal Crossing games that it’s hard to keep track of where you know an animal from. But I know I knew him from somewhere. 😀

I then started watering my flowers. Halfway through, I went into my house to check out the new DLC for July, the golden man.

The golden man DLC for July. While continuing to water flowers, I noticed Saharah was in town, looking for old wallpaper. Soon after, Chris came in. With today being July 1, many summer bugs were out and about for the first time since last summer. So we did some bug-catching.

Whoa!Jeff: Strong, tough, AND awesome.I eventually remembered to ask around for old wallpaper, but Del was the only animal to give me some. I had one in storage, but that still was only two total, and you need three to get a rare wallpaper from Saharah.

Anyway, by 11:25, TZ and Chris both left for the night. Just five minutes later, Bushido came in. He wasn’t talking much, but we caught bugs for a little while. He left before too long, and I just caught bugs by myself while I waited a few minutes to see if anyone else would come in. They didn’t, so I closed the gate. In all, I made about 70,000 bells tonight.
