Balancing a Big Top

Three weeks ago in Wild World, Big Top suddenly moved out of my town without warning…after living in town for four and a half years. So what does that have to do with City Folk? Well, guess who just moved into ACCF Forest? Big Top!

Big Top: Nice to meetcha! I'm Big Top, and I'm so happy to finally meet someone from this town!

Big Top is one of my favorite villagers, and the timing is great to get him here so soon after he left my Wild World town. I wish things always balanced out like this. 😛 He instantly becomes my 2nd favorite villager in ACCF Forest, just behind Goldie (and just slightly ahead of Lucky and Tom). Welcome to town, Big Top! 🙂 🙂

Chip was in town for the fishing tournament, and he told me that Gwen won the competition with a 41-inch sea bass.

Since it’s Saturday night, I made sure to check out K.K. Slider’s performance at the Roost. He played Cafe K.K. for me, and I felt it was fitting since New Horizons is finally going to get the Roost cafe soon. But it’s a pretty good song regardless.

Jeff enjoys K.K. Slider's performance of Cafe K.K. at the Roost in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) for Wii.

When I visited Goldie, her dialogue almost sounded like she was asking me to play a treasure hunt game!

Goldie: You see, I've been on a hunt for a buried treasure... Specifically, a treasure from our ancient history!

But she was really just asking me for a fossil. City Folk doesn’t have treasure hunts, after all. 😛 So I gave her a pachy skull I had in my pockets, and she rewarded me with 532 bells.

Maelle asked me to make a delivery to Lucky, and the item turned out to be a burglar’s shirt. 😛 (And yes, Simon was being nosy.)

Lucky: Oh, a burglar's shirt! Huh huh huh huh huh! Maelle is the one who sent this, woof woof?

Lucky loved the shirt and he put it on right away. He said Maelle must’ve been reading his mind. I guess Lucky is planning on breaking into some houses and stealing some stuff tonight! 😛 When I told Maelle the good news, she rewarded me with a paper lantern.

See you all next time!

Dog House Key

I received Puck’s goodbye letter in the mail tonight. So long, old friend.

Dear Jeff, It's almost time for me to leave Forest. 'Cause of you, every day I lived here was tons of fun. Thanks for everything! I'll miss you! -Puck

K.K. Slider was performing at the Roost tonight. I asked him for a random song, and he played Imperial K.K. for me. Not bad.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Imperial K.K.

Poor Goldie locked herself out of her house, so I went fishing to find her key. If it was anyone else, I probably wouldn’t have bothered. But Goldie should consider herself lucky that I like her so much. 😛

I caught a key! ...Whose key is this?

When I returned it to her, she gave me a kiddie wall.

Goldie: This is my key!

And I was happy to see that she actually went inside her house. Sometimes you’ll go to the trouble of finding a villager’s key, and then they don’t even use it! 😀

On Thursday, I posted a new Mario Plays ACCF video. It’s the first one in over a year! I hope you enjoy it!

See you all next time!

Puck Out of Town

I was quite disappointed to find that my old friend Puck was all packed up and ready to move out of town tonight. He didn’t give me any warning this time, or I would have tried to save him (like I did last month).

Puck: Well, see, I'm actually leaving Forest. For good, on ice.
Goodbye, friend.

But at least I still have Puck in my GameCube town, where he has lived for many years (along with 12 other seemingly permanent villagers). Tom is another of those villagers in my GameCube town, but my ACCF version of him was sick with a cold tonight. I gave him some medicine I had stored in a letter.

Tom: Huh? Oh, thanks, Chill J. You're a real good friend. I mean that, me-YOWZA...

When I checked the recycle bin at town hall, I found myself a free sleigh. 🛷

At the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider to play a random song. He performed K.K. Marathon, and I did not enjoy the song. It’s such a boring song to sit through. 😛

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Marathon.

When I visited Goldie, she told me that she found a book about the history of Forest. It made me wish this game had a town history you could view, like the one you can find in New Leaf. It would be so interesting to see everyone who has come and gone (even though the New Leaf one only lists current villagers, not former villagers).

Goldie: You'll never guess what I found propping up one leg of my table! A book on Forest's history!

But Goldie was actually just asking me for a fossil, in a roundabout way. 😛 So I gave her a stego tail that I dug up, and she rewarded me with a writing desk.

Queenie reminded me of the flea market coming up tomorrow. I don’t plan to participate, but that wasn’t the only mention of fleas in town tonight. Two of my villagers had fleas on them: Gwen and Simon. I was nice enough to help them both out. 😛

Simon: Geez, zzzook, I guess I should take a bath...
Simon says take a bath.

I’ll see you all with another entry next week. Have a great day, and Never Stop Crossing!
