Day 29
As I started up the game today, I was automatically taken to the ceremony outside of the school. Isabelle thanked us all for coming (not that we had a choice) and she talked about how this town started off so empty and lifeless until all of us at Nook's Homes put in the effort to develop it. She appreciated the work we've done, and she thanked me in particular for basically doing everything. She then handed it over to our company president Tom Nook, who also said some words. He thanked us all, although he tried to take credit too. It may be his company, but he didn't do any of the actual work! After that, we set off some party poppers and the game credits started to roll. I guess I've beaten the game!
Pictures of my designed houses and facilities appeared on the bottom screen while the credits were scrolling on the top screen. Once the credits ended, the game saved, and I was taken back to the title screen.
Day 30
Returning to the game automatically started up the next day. Lottie told me she enjoyed the ceremony and the after-party at the restaurant the night before. Wait, what? Why wasn't I invited to the party? Or if I was, why wasn't able to see any of it? No fair. I quit! (Just kidding). At any rate, it's back to work! I found Ribbot outside, and not surprisingly, he wanted a robo-house. I picked out a dry, desert location for him...I don't want him to rust! For the outside of his house, I used the astro exterior items when possible. I didn't see an astro door listed though, so I went with a white metal door instead. I really, really wanted to put a rocket on his lawn, but that item hasn't been unlocked yet! Since I couldn't really space out his yard much, I went with my desert sub-theme and added in some cacti.
Indoors, I obviously used the robo furniture. I also gave him a computer to...compute on. But it seriously annoys me that the space items are not available yet. That severely limited my options here. I was at a loss for what else to include in a robot-themed house other than robo furniture. I did add some space sounds as the sound scenery and I gave him an office phone--in case he needs to phone home. I also put K.K. Technopop, the futuristic album cover, on the wall. And then I remembered that I could use gyroids! Nebuloids and dinkoids make some sci-fi type sounds, so I put a few of them in. Now Ribbot has plenty of beeps and boops to make him feel at home.
After Ribbot taught me the disagreement emotion, I uploaded his house to the Happy Home Network. The code to visit it is 0590-7731-475.
Day 31
Today, I spotted one of my favorite villagers, Rolf! He wanted a home that's all about camping outdoors. I chose a location out in the woods for him. Surprisingly, only four new furniture pieces were unlocked for this project: A sleeping bag, a campfire, campfire cookware, and firewood. I used all four of them out here, including a multitude of firewood.Indoors, I used the newly unlocked shanty mat and old brick wall. The tent wall, which seems like it should be an obvious choice, is still not available. I put in another campfire, a sleeping bag, and even more firewood. Gotta stock up! I also added a fireplace, a classic wardrobe, some morning-glory vines, a couple of plants, and some floor seats. For the sound scenery, I used some jungle sounds. Even though this isn't exactly a jungle, it gives the house an outdoorsy feel. The crackling of the fires also helps in that respect.
Rolf taught me the thought emotion just before I uploaded his house. You can visit it by using code 0500-7731-335. Enjoy your nap, tiger.
Even though I have "beaten" the game by completing the town, there are still hundreds of villagers left to design houses for, and surely hundreds (if not thousands) of items to unlock. So this blog isn't ending anytime soon! You can still expect several blog entries each week. I'm not guaranteeing any certain number, but it will likely be 3-4 entries most weeks. So I hope you'll keep visiting this blog to check out my latest creations!
Thank you all for visiting and I'll see you next time!
