Merengue’s Birthday

On Sunday, I ran into Pascal in the ocean. Even though it was in the evening (around sunset), he had brunch on his mind.

Pascal: So brunch is between breakfast and lunch, but what's it called when you eat cioppino at 3 AM?

Monday was Shamrock Day (St. Patrick’s Day), and I was wearing my shamrock suit. I went out to Lottie’s island and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. 🌇

A beautiful Shamrock Day sunset on Lottie's Island.

The next day, Audie the wolf was camping at the campsite. She was trying to make a rhyme, but she botched it. 😆

Audie: If my camp isn't glamp, then I usually revamp my, um, plan...p? Sorry, I lost the rhyme there, foxtrot!

I like Audie, but I did not ask her to move in.

When I put some bells into my savings account later, my balance reached 110 million bells! 💰

Savings Balance: 110,000,000 bells.

Today is Merengue’s birthday, and it’s her first one in Forest. I bought a garden faucet at Nook’s Cranny and wrapped it up for her birthday gift. She seemed to enjoy it. 🙂

Merengue: Oh, this is so sweet! You got me a garden faucet! I will treasure this, a berry.

Bob was also at the party, and he wanted to make it as unforgettable for her, as his 6th birthday was for him. That’s when a birthday clown got lost in the walls of his house… Yikes. Probably not the vibe we should aiming for. 🤡

Bob: It's Merengue's birthday today! Let's make her birthday as unforgettable as my sixth birthday!

At any rate, happy birthday Merengue! 🎂🎈

Later on, Ankha asked me to join her on the bench near the bridge to Peach Park. So I sat with her for a few moments.

Here are a few other quick notes about my life in Forest this week:

  • On Sunday, Merengue was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she rewarded me with a lettered cap.
  • I returned a lost book to Static on Monday, and he gave me some retro shades. 😎
  • I helped out Gulliver yesterday, and he sent me a silk hat today.

Tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of the game’s release! Happy (almost) anniversary to everyone who started on Day 1! At some point in next few days, I’ll be posting my annual slideshow of my best screenshots of the past year. And I’ll be back with another entry next week. Hope to see you then!

Third Turtle

On Monday, Wolfgang was camping out at the campsite here in town. Even though he would be a cool wolf to have around, I didn’t ask him to move in.

Wolfgang: I'm in campin' mode, soakin' up the scenery and lookin' forward to hangin' out, snarrrl!

Wednesday was apparently coconut day at Nook’s Cranny. The two hot items for the day were coconut juice and coconut milk.

Today's Hot Items (Inquire Inside!): Coconut juice. Coconut milk.

Due to the silly logic in this game, coconut juice is a furniture item made by crafting, while coconut milk is a food item made from cooking. 🥥

I went out to Harv’s island and asked Katrina to tell my fortune (and reveal my luck). She started talking about the Nooklings crying into their pillows.

Katrina: Oh dear... I see... I see...two darling little raccoons soaking their pillows with tears.

She said my luck with money will diminish, unless I paid her 10,000 bells for purification. I did just that, because I’m trying to get all of her lucky items. But the next day, she sent me another gold turtle figurine! That’s the third one she sent me, and I still don’t have any of her other items! Oof. 🐢🐢🐢

My three golden turtle figurines from Katrina.

On a brighter note, I also received an ABD that I ordered with Nook Miles at Resident Services. For now, I put it outside of my house next to my wooden storage shed.

Standing near my new ABD.

I had another camper today, and it’s someone I like even more than Wolfgang: Cephalobot the robot octopus!

Cephalobot, at the campsite: One day you'll casually meet an executive producer who compliments your hair, and...donk donk.
I’m afraid to ask.

I was curious to see who he would replace if I asked him to move in, so I tried…but he declined the offer. Repeatedly. Yes, I could’ve kept trying, but it was taking too long and I just wasn’t up to it. I’ll get him someday, though!

Here are a few other quick notes from this week:

  • On Monday, I sold six bugs (3 tarantulas & 3 wasps) to Flick for 47,250 bells.
  • I helped Gullivarrr Thursday, and he sent me some pirate pants.
  • Tonight, K.K. Slider performed K.K. Waltz for me, Static, Rio, and Merengue.

I’ll see you next time.

Stationary Unicycles

Festivale was on Monday, and all of my villagers were dressed up for the event and dancing in the streets. How cute!

Bones, Ketchup, and Bob dance during Festivale, as Static wraps up a chat with me.

Of course, Pavé the peacock was in town for the event. He wanted me to collect feathers for him, so I kept an eye out for them as I played.

I caught a rainbow feather! Viva Festivale!

I took many of my feathers back to Pavé, and he was a bit excited about them. 😛

Pave: VIVA RAINBOW!

I traded a bunch of feathers in for a handful of Festivale items, but I eventually got tired of the slow process of redeeming them. Pavé has to do his whole routine each time, so it can really drag on. I reached a point where I just decided to put my remaining feathers in storage.

On Tuesday, Pascal compared friends to the peach crisp of life. 😛

Pascal: If variety is the spice of life, then friends have gotta be, like, the peach crisp.

I saw him again yesterday, and he wondered why he sees stationary bikes, but not stationary unicycles. That’s a wheely good question. 😉

Pascal: I see a lot of stationary bicycles, but never any stationary unicycles. They must all be at the clown-college gym.

Right at 6:00 p.m. today, four of my villagers joined me for a concert in the rain. I asked K.K. for a random song, and he played “Mountain Song” for us.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little Mountain Song?

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Wednesday, I returned a lost bag to Agent S. She rewarded me with a cycling shirt. Too bad it wasn’t a unicycling shirt. 😉
  • Yesterday, I played a treasure hunt game with Agent S. I won a parka undercoat.
  • I helped out Gulliver, and he sent me another geisha wig.
  • Today, I returned a lost item to June. She gave me a samurai hakama.
  • I shot down a balloon present that had 30,000 bells in it!

I recently posted a video ranking all of my villagers in each of my Animal Crossing towns across all five games. Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.

See you next week!
