In my park, the tulips I planted around the springy ride-on have bloomed. So here’s an updated picture.
In Sudden Valley (my Arrested Development themed area), I added a second stall. This one represents GOB, the magician. I put a magic kit and a bee (wasp) on the stand.
I’m still not totally happy with this area, and I need to make some changes to it. The problem is the main attraction I have planned is going to take me a long time to complete.
When I visited Midge, she told me to make myself comfy, or fly away! Her catchphrase worked out well in this situation. 🙂
Tia was thinking about moving away, but I quickly made her change her mind.
I forgot to mention this the other day, but I noticed that the Nook Stop has a seasonal Mother’s Day item, a “Thank-you Mom mug” for sale for 600 bells. It’s available until the end of the month, so remember to pick one up if you’re interested.
The area where Louie’s house used to be was still very bare. So I finally put in that path I talked about before, that goes from “Main Street” up to Apple Lane. I asked Tom Nook about moving my house, but there was a problem. I couldn’t move my house where I wanted, because the new spot would overlap with the old spot!
So that means I would have to move my house twice to get it where I wanted, and I didn’t want to fool with that right now. It’s not that urgent, and it seems like a waste of 100,000 bells.
Anyway, I spotted Wisp up on the cliffs. I collected his five spirits for him, and then asked him for something new. He gave me a floor seat.
Afterwards, I got a notification of a new achievement. That was apparently the 10th time I’ve helped out Wisp already! Time really flies on this island.
I then wrapped up my night in Forest. However, I posted a new Wi-Fi Moments video today, showing some fun online highlights from the past couple weeks. If you haven’t seen it yet, I hope you’ll give it a watch. 🙂
It was raining in Forest today, and Tia was enjoying being home with a good book and some…tomato juice? I thought for sure she was going to say a cup of tea.
I took advantage of the rainy weather by catching a coelacanth! It was just the 2nd one I’ve caught, but it was the first one I was able to sell. But it’s always fun to catch one of these, no matter what. 🙂
K.K. Slider was in town, and I found Midge, Rizzo, and Apple already enjoying the show. I asked K.K. for a random song, and he played K.K. Sonata for the four of us. It’s a sad song, but I like it.
While still wearing the frog shirt, I caught my first tadpole up on the cliff. I then used the island designer app to remove the waterfall section I made for last night.
When I shook a tree, wasps came after me. I quickly retreated to Sudden Valley, got my net out, and caught the wasp.
Rizzo was fishing by the river, so I built a stone wall to fence him in. 😀
I then used a Nook Miles Ticket to visit a mystery island, and I landed on the bamboo island. Definitely not one of my favorites. I collected some bamboo and other materials, but I didn’t stay there long.
Soon after returning, I wrapped up my game for the night. See you all next time!
Yesterday, I was happy to see that Nook’s Cranny had a football for sale. That’s an American football, for those of you outside the U.S. Previous games did not have one of these (though they had football helmets), so this will make a nice addition if I make a football-themed room at some point.
My 7th bridge is now finished, and I attended the completion ceremony for it.
I visited Tia, and Agent S was also visiting her. The interesting part is that Tia started a sentence with my nickname (cupcake), but did not capitalize it.
I fished at a pond on the cliff, and I caught my first frog…as I was wearing my frog shirt!
Here are a few other quick notes about Thursday:
Gulliver was in town, so I collected his communicator parts for him.
I returned a lost item to Hornsby, and he gave me a raincoat.
Louie taught me the flourish reaction.
I also returned to the site of my newest bridge, to put in a park! I re-routed the path, moved some trees, added some shrubs, dug out a pond, planted some flowers, and set up a swinging bench. I’m probably going to make more changes to it soon, but this is how it looks for the moment.
Friday
Keaton pinged me, even though we were on different levels of town! I didn’t realize they would/could do that. But he ended up teaching me the smirking reaction. The text accompanying it said “You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet,” which I thought was funny because Keaton’s head was blocking my view of my face, so I truly didn’t see anything yet. 😛
Just summary of what else happened in my first session of the day:
Gulliver sent me a samurai wig in the mail today.
A scorpion was threatening me from a lower level. I swung my net at it (from above), and he disappeared into the cliff below me.
Saharah was in town; I bought a rock-climbing wall and crop-circles flooring. I sold the former and kept the latter.
Friday Night
Shortly after 10 p.m., I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Yusef, Ryan, Timo, Patrick, Jesse, Alex, and Logan came over. I took everyone on a quick tour of my newly-designed areas, including my new park (now with another streetlight).
Timo again started releasing multiple coelacanths and oarfish into my rivers! She must not need bells to keep throwing such valuable fish away every week. 😂
After that, we headed to the new (temporary) area I set up just for tonight…so that we could fall in holes. I dug the holes, and then had to dig them again after a false start. But we eventually fell in as planned.
I then realized I forgot to show everyone Apple Lane, so we visited the lane and the Apple. 😛 After that, everyone ended up on the beach somehow, and I suggested some musical chairs.
Several people didn’t seem interested, but played anyway…but some ran the wrong way or stood in the way of others, and I also got some rude comments about part of my town being downgraded? So there was certainly a negative vibe going on tonight, and it wasn’t a lot of fun.
Logan won the musical chairs tourney, so congrats, Logan!
After that, we all witnessed Timo catch another oarfish. The big fish must be drawn to her! 😀
I suggested a fishing competition, and one person objected. That’s fine, but that same person later used a net to scare away a fish I was about to catch (during the competition). I’ve said this in the blog before, but I’ll say it again: You don’t have to participate in every event in my town. But it’s not acceptable to interfere with others who do want to play. I let things like that slide the first time, but no more.
Most of my visitors were fine, but a couple people seemed to be bringing down the mood or seemingly sabotaging the things I had planned. So I plan on making some changes, and there likely won’t be a Friday Night Forest next week.
Anyway, Alex and Ryan won the competition, tied with 8 fish each in five minutes. We took a couple of group photos, we tried to vandalize my house, and then we hung out inside for a bit. I then ended the session around 11:20, which was the earliest I’ve ended so far in New Horizons.
I’m sorry tonight’s blog entry (and tonight’s play session) was a bit of a downer. But hopefully things will be better next time. I just don’t know when next time will be. 😛 But have a good night, everyone. Better days are coming. 🙂
