Bridges Galore

Late last night, I asked Isabelle about my town rating, and she told me Forest now has a 4-star rating! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Isabelle: Right now, Forest has a 4 star rating.

I ordered a frog shirt from Nook Shopping, and it arrived today. Ribbit!

I saw this mounted black bass at Nook’s Cranny today, and it reminded me of a Filet-O-Fish commercial. And now that song is stuck in my head. 😛

Timmy: Seems like you're interested in a mounted black bass.

Tia asked me for a new catchphrase to replace “oh banana,” which she learned from Louie. So I poured my heart out to her, and told her to say “in a cup” instead.

My latest bridge was finished, so I attended the completion ceremony for it.

I didn’t waste any time in commissioning the next bridge. It connects the Claudia/Rizzo wasteland with the main section of the island, just a bit northeast of town hall. It’s roughly in the center of the island.

My next bridge, in the center of town.

This will be my 7th bridge, which is apparently just one fewer than the maximum allowed. But this is the last one I have planned, as I feel it connects the island pretty well.

I extended some paths, including one from the campsite northeast to Able Sisters and my new bridge. A customized angled signpost points the way to the tailors’ shop. I still need to add flowers on the other side of the path, but I really like the look of this new area. This part of town was so unremarkable before, and I feel like this change brings this part of town to life.

My new diagonal path connecting the campsite to Able Sisters.

Hornsby commented on all the roads I built yesterday, and he asked if there’s someplace I need to go.

Hornsby: I heard you made a bunch of roads yesterday. Is there someplace you need to go?
Everywhere, Hornsby. Everywhere.

Wisp was in town, and I collected his five spirits for him. I asked him for a “new” reward, and he gave me a low screen.

Wisp: Let me just say, I hope our paths cross again sometime. Until then, farewell!
Never stop crossing my path.

Louie is settling into his new house location. But I have not moved my house over yet. I may wait on that a bit, at least until after Friday Night Forest. And yes, I plan on having FNF again this week. I even spent some time setting up a new area for us to fall into holes on Friday. 😀

There may not be an entry on Thursday, so check back late Friday night for the next entry. Have a great day! 🙂

Apple Lane

Thanks to a tip from Hypernukeleosis Kirby on Youtube, I checked out my fountain at the top of the hour. While the hourly chimes are ringing, the fountain shoots water higher in the air. That’s a pretty cool feature! ⛲

The fountain sprays water high into the air in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The respawned money rock that I destroyed yesterday popped up right on my path. So I had to destroy it once again. But of course, this time was on purpose.

A rock pops up on my path in ACNH.

Today’s glowing spot also appeared on a path, near my sumo ring.

Flick was in town, so I ended up selling him all the bugs I caught tonight. That included at least five wasps I caught (all without getting stung, for a change). 😉

Rizzo taught me the sheepishness reaction, and I was so thrilled about it. 😛

I learned the sheepishness reaction! Heh heh heh...

The island designing bug has really bitten me lately. Shari’s house has been moved to the new street I made, and I took it a step further today. I made a new design, put it on a plain wooden shop sign, moved some trees around, and gave the street a name.

Apple Lane is a residential street lined with apple trees. Of course, Apple is one of the residents on Apple Lane. 🍎

I also forced Louie to move his house, so he will live to the left of Apple, starting tomorrow. I’ll still have to make sure some of the trees on the other side of the street are apple trees, and make changes if necessary. But I really like this new area. 🙂

Over by Able Sisters, I made some minor changes to the river layout and then decided to put in a new bridge. It will connect the Able Sisters area to the north-central area where Rizzo and Claudia live.

This bridge will be sew convenient.

That’s all I have for today, but thank you very much for stopping by the blog! I hope you’re all enjoying New Horizons as much as I am! Have a great day, and I’ll see you again soon! 🙂

Moon Hamster

Today I received an “A tee” that I ordered from Nook Shopping. That’s one thing I don’t like about Able Sisters: They have outfits, shoes, and accessories, but they don’t seem to have just regular shirts like you’d find in older games. I don’t understand why, but you generally have to order these from Tom Nook.

Apple told me that she’s going to walk around the Forest shoreline until she’s walked the distance from Earth to the moon (235,000 miles)! She told me to call her Moon Hamster!

Apple: Just call me Moon Hamster!

There’s a problem with that, though. Even if Apple could walk as fast as a human, it would take 9.5 years to walk that distance. And hamsters only have a life span of about 3 years. 😛

One small step for a hamster,
one giant leap for hamsterkind.

I accidentally destroyed today’s money rock, because some fruit I ate yesterday was still in my system. I did leave the game in sleep mode overnight, but I thought the power meter would reset when the new day started and Isabelle read her latest announcements. But it didn’t.

Midge asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told her to say “or fly away.” Hopefully she will use it in some funny ways in the near future.

Midge: I knew you'd come through for me. I really like this new catchphrase! Thank you so much, or fly away!

I continued to work on my paths and town layout. One section needed a diagonal path, and this is the best I could do.

My diagonal path in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

I decided where I’m going to put Shari’s house: In the river. Just kidding. But I’m going to put it next to Apple’s house, so that a new path can become a residential street. I may also move Louie’s house up here, so that I can later move my house over as well. That way, I could widen my garden again without everything being so crowded. But one step at a time.

You can see Shari’s current house in the background, and her new location to the right.

Here is a look at my current map:

Jeff's current map of Forest as of May 11, 2020.

A few other notes from today:

  • Shari had fleas, and I caught them to rescue the fleas.
  • I bought a pair of socks from Kicks.
  • Agent S taught me the “happiness” reaction.

See you all next time! Never Stop Crossing! 🙂
