Abundance of Flowers

Today is the day that Keaton professed his love for me!

Keaton: Ahem... I LOVE YOUUU!

Well actually, he was just teaching me the showmanship reaction. But close enough. šŸ˜›

In older games, the challenge with flowers was keeping them watered so they didnā€™t die on days without rain. Fortunately, that doesnā€™t happen in New Horizons. But there is a different problem that has arisen: Removing the many unwanted flowers that pop up after a rain! I had a ton of them today, mostly on my paths.

New flowers pop up on the paths of Forest.

And unlike in previous games, you canā€™t use your shovel to kill flowers! So itā€™s kind of a pain having to clean them all up. (But donā€™t get me wrongā€¦ this is still a much better ā€œproblemā€ to have than having to water hundreds of flowers every day!)

Despite the summer solstice and Fatherā€™s Day occurring this weekend, neither one was mentioned in the game. In earlier games, you would receive a letter and a gift from Dad on Fatherā€™s Day. And the summer equinox had its own event in New Leaf. But they are just two of many conspicuous absences in New Horizons.

After I was done with my daily tasks, I started working on my new attraction. I think Iā€™ll just call it a race. Even though it may have a few simple obstacle course elements, itā€™s different. For one thing, itā€™s not a one-on-one thing; itā€™s something everyone can compete on at once. I wonā€™t reveal what it is until itā€™s done and Iā€™ve had my first race on it. Hopefully that will be later this week, but I still need to order (and make) some more items. šŸ™‚

In case anyone was wondering, my daily glowing spot appeared near the sumo ring today. It was another ā€œclearā€ spot with nothing else around.

Note to whoever left a 10k bag of bells in town on Friday: Please donā€™t. I may use this as the prize for my first run of my upcoming race. But in the future, please donā€™t litter in Forest, even if itā€™s bags of money. šŸ˜› Iā€™m a stickler about wanting to earn my progress in the game on my own. If you really insist on giving me a gift, feel free to leave me pitfall seeds or party poppers. Those are fun things that donā€™t impact progress in the game, so I donā€™t mind them at all.

Just

Have a great day, and Iā€™ll see you all soon! šŸ™‚

    1. Hi Lola! You have some nice villagers. Mitzi is one of my favorites! Iā€™m glad youā€™re enjoying the blog and learning something new. šŸ™‚

      1. Thanks!! I plan on having Fang move in soon, and Iā€™m trying to kick Naomi out. Recently,I got Cobbā€™s photo! I was so excited!

          1. Iā€™ve also been making paths with the Custom Designs app,one square at a time! Also,I dreamed of your island. Love it and love your villagers!

  2. Yes, flowers wilting was very annoying in my opinion and Iā€™m happy that isnā€™t a problem here. The only thing I wish would make cleaning flowers easier is if they would just stack in your inventory!!

  3. Timmy and tommy I think either rang me or sent me a letter but they did Tell me about the new seasonal items

  4. Sorry Jeff I was the person that left the money on Friday. I went a little overboard with betting on the table tennis tournament lol. Iā€™ll make sure I donā€™t give you items that add progress next time!

  5. Once in New Horizons it rained for 5 consecutive days! I was getting rid of flowers for a hour I had so many! Have a great day!
