Tearing it Down

Nook’s Cranny had a diner neon sign for sale today. It’s the large neon sign that says “We’re open,” and I’ve wanted one for my amusement park since the beginning. Surprisingly, it only cost 3,900 bells, when many smaller, less interesting items often sell for 40k or more. But I’ll take it! I placed it just left of the teacups ride, though I’ll probably need to put some flowers around it as well.

The daily glowing spot’s streak of appearing in Sudden Valley has ended. I found it in front of the museum today. It must prefer places where there’s clear space all around it, since this is a rare spot in town where my path is three spaces wide.

It was raining pretty heavily today, and Apple’s enthusiasm for the rain went a bit overboard. She said it would be great if it rained so much that the island sunk! She assumed we would all turn into mermaids, but still, that’s a horrible thing to hope for! I’ve put a lot of time and effort into making this island a nice place to live, so don’t wish that it sinks, Apple! 😡

Apple: It'd be kind of le great if it rained so much that the island sunk and we all turned into mermaids.

Saturday night is K.K. night, so I joined Louie, Agent S, Shari, and Midge at the plaza. K.K. performed K.K. Swing for all of us.

K.K. performs for the residents of Forest as the game credits roll.

After the show, I attended the completion ceremony for my 4th incline. I found it interesting that there were villagers standing on all three levels for the ceremony! I don’t know if Rizzo, Lopez, and Hornsby even knew what was going on! 😉

Once I was done making my rounds, I started tearing down my obstacle course. Here’s what it looked like before…

And here’s the after pic.

I just left the water areas for the moment, because I may re-use some of them. Even though I know basically what I’m doing next, I haven’t decided on the specifics. I’ll be working on that over the next few days, most likely.

Jailed Rizzo, Baby Battle

Yesterday, I had Breezy over to try my obstacle course. I also gave her a little tour. She hadn’t visited since back on Day 3, so my island has changed a bit since then. 😉 Unfortunately for her, I also managed to pitfall her. 😛

Breezy brought me an iron garden bench, which I put in Peach Park after she left. It looks nicer than the swinging bench I had there before.

Two quick notes about yesterday: C.J. was in town, and I completed his challenge. And the daily glowing spot was in Sudden Valley for the 5th day in a row.

Today (Friday), Saharah was in town. I bought the mysterious wallpaper (dojo wall) and flooring (floral rush-mat flooring) from her.

There was a scary mask at Able Sisters today, and it was staring at me! It was called a Noh mask, and it was so creepy-looking that I just had to buy it.

Just say Noh.

Lopez was hanging out at the campsite all day, but he forgot to bring a tent. He did bring a flea though, so I saved him from the itching.

I caught a flea! The curse is lifted.

The daily glowing spot was in Sudden Valley again today. That makes six days in a row now. 😛

I commissioned a new incline going up to Eagle Mountain, so Keaton will finally have a way down from his house without having to use his wings. 😛 I paid it off, and it will be completed tomorrow.

Shortly after 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Ryan (from Petal Burg), Timo, and Ros came over to visit. I showed them all my new campground area…including Lopez, who hadn’t moved from that spot all day!

We walked past the campsite, jumped over my “secret path,” and discussed the possibility of playing sumo on Spectacle Rock. 😀 About 10:30, Logan also joined in. We discussed Animal Crossing features, we trapped Shari on the dock, and we pushed Rizzo into his jail cell. I left the back of the cell open this time, so that we could push him in (and just dig holes to lock him in).

I informed everyone that the obstacle course will be gone by next week, so I let them race on it one last time. Around 11:30, Nami joined in. Before her obstacle course run, she changed into a baby outfit. That was funny, because Logan had been dressed like a baby earlier in the night. We figured they should race against each other. Baby Ga-Ga vs. Baby Goo-Goo.

Two babies (Logan and Nami) race on the obstacle course.

We had a tournament, and Ryan was the winner. Congrats, Ryan! And thanks to all who have enjoyed the obstacle course. The next thing I have planned won’t be as complex, but I hope it will be fun too! No promises, but I might offer people a chance to be among the first to try it on Twitter at some point next week.

Around midnight, we went up to the campsite for photos.

Logan, Ros, Nami, Jeff, Ryan, and Timo pose for a photo at the campfire.

Shortly after that, I ended the session. Thanks to everyone who came, I had a good time! 🙂 I’ll be back with another blog entry tomorrow. Bye for now!

If you’d like to see my latest New Horizons video, here it is:

First Golden Tool

I spoke with Hornsby just outside of town hall, and he said he was just thinking about seeing my face (and my round head). And yet, he didn’t even bother to turn around and look at me! He was sitting facing the other way!

Hornsby: I was just thinking about you... Thinking about seeing your face... Your big ol' adorable round head.

My new incline was completed, so I attended the opening ceremony. This is just my third ramp in town (contrast that with my seven bridges).

As I was running back and forth to get some items for my new area, I was shocked to spot a golden balloon present!

Jeff is shocked to see a golden balloon present.

It was the recipe for a golden slingshot! I promptly made my very first golden tool! 😀 Unfortunately, it still only shoots one pellet at a time. So the fact that golden tools can break in New Horizons isn’t their only downgrade compared to previous games.

I worked for a while on my new campground area. I reshaped the land a bit, but I also added flowers, circle paths, and some benches…so that people can sit and enjoy the fire, the waterfall, and the night sky.

My new campground area.

More changes are likely coming, but the above picture shows how the campground looked as I finished up for the night.

Just a few other quick notes about today’s session:

  • Kicks was in town, and I bought some soccer socks from him.
  • The glowing spot was in Sudden Valley for the 4th day in a row.
  • On Harv’s island, I helped out Reese & Cyrus for the last time. Once the last item arrives in the mail tomorrow, I’ll have all of the wedding items.

There may or may not be a new entry tomorrow. But there will be one late Friday night regardless. (Yes, I’m planning on having Friday Night Forest this week). Have a great day or night, and I’ll see you soon! 🙂
