Shari told me she was thinking about moving out of town today…and I decided to let her go. So she will be moving out tomorrow.
She was one of my starting villagers (along with Louie), but it’s time to let her go. She’s been my 2nd-least favorite villager (behind Rizzo), and she’s had a good four months in town. I wish her well, but I’m ready to get someone new on this island.
C.J. was in town, and he wanted me to catch three small-time fish in a row. But that wasn’t going to stop me from catching this arapaima.
It took me a while to find the small fish I needed. It’s actually easier to find large fish than small fish in New Horizons. But I completed C.J.’s challenge, and I was able to sell him all my fish at a good price (including my arapaima and a dorado I also caught).
Celeste was also in town, and she gave me a recipe for an iron wand.
I made one, and it just looks like a pipe! Maybe I could use this as a weapon against any rabid rats I may encounter. 😛
One of my Nook Miles+ goals was to go diving and catch three sea creatures. So I did just that. One of the critters I caught was a vampire squid. That’s a new one for me, so I donated it to the museum.
A few other quick notes:
My 5th gold rose appeared today.
I had a bunch of new black roses, but I just started selling them. I already have more than I need for now.
My town rating was (temporarily) down to 4 stars, thanks to the leftover frog suits I forgot to put back up after yesterday.
I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow. See you then!
The Happy Home Academy sent me a letter congratulating me on topping 50,000 points today. They sent me a gold HHA plaque, and I put it in my exercise room.
It was storming in town when I started the game up this afternoon, and I caught my first giant cicada. It also earned me some Nook Miles as the 60th bug in my Critterpedia.
Velma the goat was camping at the campsite. Even though Velma wasn’t baaad in New Leaf, I had no interest in inviting her to my island.
Able Sisters had a paper bag for sale (to wear as a hat), and it was only 140 bells, so I bought it right away.
My 4th lily-of-the-valley appeared at my campground area, but I might end up moving it somewhere else. It messes with my pseudo diagonal symmetry here, lol. 😂
At 4:00, I opened my gate. Logan, Wyatt, Alex, Alex, Jade, Tom41, and Ryan (from Petal Burg) came over to visit. We started off with a frog race, and I actually won the first race.
I suggested another run, but as we were returning, I spotted a banded dragonfly. I chased after it a bit, but it got away. 🙁 But we ran the frog race again, and Ryan won this time. Congrats, Ryan!
Tom suggested a backward frog race, where we start at the showers and race down (towards the camera) back to the starting point. Sounded like a good idea, so we hopped to it.
Wyatt was the first back to the starting line, so congrats! There weren’t any prizes, but I said the winners got to eat a fly. 😛
After that, we headed over to Able Sisters. Everyone else bought paper bags to wear, so we were a bunch of bagheads!
Back outside, Ryan and Tom41 ran ahead…and fell into pitfalls. 😛 The only bad thing is that I didn’t get to see it happen! They were so ashamed that they hid their faces in paper bags. 😉
Jade got disconnected, but returned. We headed over to the pier for some swimming and diving. Fortunately, our bags didn’t get soggy in the sea. 😛
Alex left, and the rest of us went up to play a few rounds of sumo. We played one four-player version of sumo, and Logan won the first round. Timo came over (Forest was full again), and the four of us who didn’t play the first round played this time. Timo won this round.
We then played an 8-player game of sumo (on just the regular 3×3 grid). I fell out first, and it looked like the others weren’t even moving for a while! But Ryan ultimately won…or so it appeared. But after looking at the footage, I saw that Ryan actually got pushed out of the ring (but without falling into a pit) and went back in. Bzzzt! Disqualified! It appears that Jade was the real winner. Congrats, Jade!
After that, we posed for pictures near Godzilla, jumped on the pillars, visited Rainbow Road, and then dived off it into the ocean. 😛 Around 5:20, I ended the session. Thanks to everyone who came! I had fun! 🙂 Many of today’s activities will end up in the next Wi-Fi Moments video.
Later on, I checked out K.K. Slider’s show and he performed K.K. Technopop for me. Unfortunately, that’s one of the worst live songs he plays. Fortunately, the aircheck is much better.
That’s all for now, but I’ll see you all again soon. Have a great day!
Label must have really liked my outfit the other day, because she didn’t just send me a tailors ticket…she sent me two tailors tickets! She also sent me some Labelle socks.
Pirate Gulliver was in my town yesterday for the first time. Even though his speech bubble was labeled “Gulliver” at first, it later changed to Gullivarrr after he introduced himself.
Gullivarrr has lost his communicator, and this works quite differently compared to regular Gulliver. I have to dive in the ocean to find his phone; it took me exactly five dives to find it.
I took it back to Gullivarrr, and he was able to call for help. He will send me a reward in the mail.
Rizzo was examining an analog kitchen scale in Nook’s Cranny, but then I also found him in his house a few minutes later. He told me that he doesn’t like sweet things, except for apple cider vinegar??? I don’t even know what to think about him any more. He’s a weird guy…and not in a good way.
Celeste was in town, and she gave me a D.I.Y. recipe for a wand. Not a certain type of wand, but a basic wand that’s just called “wand.” 😛
While diving, I found a scallop and gave it to Pascal. But in return, he didn’t give me a recipe or a pearl…he gave me a mermaid tiara. Even though I’m not much of a tiara wearer (lol), it’s good to see that he can give physical rewards besides just pearls. Otherwise, he would feel very useless once we had all the mermaid recipes.
Today, I received a letter from Gullivarrr in the mail. He sent me a pirate eye patch. It has a skull on it, which seems like overkill in my opinion. An eye patch already looks like a pirate item on its own, it doesn’t really need a skull on it.
But I’m also a bit disappointed the pirate costume has become an NPC-exclusive outfit instead of being regular clothing you can buy at shops.
The fishing tournament was held today, so C.J. was in town. On my first attempt, I scored just 6 points. However, C.J. told me I had 12 points in my pool, so that means the points from the previous fishing tournament have carried over. That’s good news. I was able to redeem points for a prize, a fish doorplate.
I tried the tourney two more times, scoring 7 points each time. I was able to score another prize, a tackle bag.
When I visited Louie, he was trying to make up a new word. Brainial?
After shaking a tree, a studio wall spotlight fell out. That was my 100th piece of furniture from a tree, so I earned a whopping 5,000 Nook Miles!
Pascal appeared again today (after I caught a scallop, of course). He gave me some words of wisdom about putting your philosophy on a T-shirt. 😛
Interestingly, there was no K.K. Slider in town tonight. Last time there was a tournament, K.K. was moved to Friday. But now, he’s apparently being moved to Sunday. Nintendo needs to give K.K. his own venue instead of bouncing this poor dog around like a ping-pong ball.
Note: I plan on opening my gate at approximately 4:00 p.m. Eastern time (U.S.) tomorrow. Anyone already on my Switch friend roster is welcome. I may only be open for an hour or so, though. But we can do a frog race, and possibly some sumo if enough people are interested.
