Yesterday, I learned the D.I.Y. recipe for a garden bench from a message bottle. I don’t have many bench recipes that actually look like benches, so I made a couple of them. I used one to replace a public bench at the amusement park, and the other one to replace the bamboo bench near Midge’s house. I think it looks better now!
Able Sisters had some impish horns for sale, so I bought them even though it doesn’t exactly go with my referee outfit. 😛 I guess I can be Jeff the evil ref now. 😛
Rizzo had the nerve to say that Forest is going overboard with the pumpkin decorations! Too bad! You better get used to it, pumpkin.
Wisp was in town, and I collected his spirits for him. When I finished, he gave me a down jacket as my reward.
Today (Monday), Gulliver was in town. Once he realized he wasn’t in space, he asked me to find the five pieces of his communicator for him.
Of course, I helped him out. He’ll be sending me a gift in the mail tomorrow.
Midge also asked me for a favor: She wanted me to catch a ribbon eel for her. I don’t like turning down requests, especially from villagers who haven’t given me their photo yet. 😉 So I told her I’d catch that eel for her.
I went diving (just to earn some Nook Miles), and Pascal showed up when I found a scallop. He asked if I ever wondered what kind of museum I’ll end up in someday. That’s kinda dark, Pascal.
Wisp was in town again tonight (that’s two nights in a row). When I gave him his spirits, he handed me a brown botanical-tile wall.
I went fishing for Midge’s eel, and it took me much longer than I expected. But I did eventually catch it. In return, Midge gave me…a shirt with camera. Oof.
Random note: I have been getting two furniture items from trees again. I’m not sure what happened for a while there, but I’m glad things are back to normal. 🎁🎁
Yesterday, Gullivarrr sent me my reward in the mail: a pirate wall.
One of the day’s fossils, and the glowing spot, were inside my Halloween maze. It wasn’t too hard to get to them though, because I can just (temporarily) remove the hedges to get to the right spots quickly. 😛
The daily message bottle was nearly hidden behind a cliff. But I found it and learned how to make a signpost. I’ve had the angled signpost recipe for many months, and I guess I didn’t even realize there was a regular, non-angled one. 😛
My pumpkin crop gave me just barely enough pumpkins to make the spooky towers I needed to finish my Halloween race course. Here’s a look at the tower area, with the entrance to the hedge maze in the background.
Tybalt asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told him to say “it’s scary.”
I got my first look inside of Bones’s house, and it’s a book-lover’s dream! Bones is apparently quite the bookworm!
Today, I found a lost item on the ground, and it mentioned “xtreme xercises.” Yet again, the lost item belongs to a jock. I asked Tybalt about it, and he told it was Louie’s book. When I gave it to Louie (inside Nook’s Cranny), he thanked me and gave me a western shirt.
K.K. Slider was in town, and he performed K.K. Rally for me, Rizzo, and Tia.
After that, I went diving and found a scallop on my first dive. Pascal popped up, gave me a pearl, and talked about stew, his friend Stew, and Stew’s stew.
Around 9:15, I posted on Twitter asking for contestants to participate in my Halloween race. Maria, Bran, Jet, and Jac came over. After they checked my free recipe area and shopped, we headed over to the course and I explained the rules. I was Jeff the ref, of course. 😛 Here is the video that shows how the race went:
After the winner collected the prize, I asked if they wanted to race again just for fun. (I’m not mentioning who won, just because I want you all to watch the video to see what happened, lol.)
But to make things fair in round #2, I had them switch sides this time. I actually goofed up by neglecting to reset the scarecrows, so I let that requirement slide (they all went back there anyway).
Jet and Bran both arrived at the finish line ahead of Maria, but Maria was able to drop her skeleton on the square first, while Bran was still in his menu and Jet dropped his item on the wrong spot. It was a very close finish!
Those leaf piles are actually placed there to help avoid the items being dropped in the wrong place. But I think Jet was standing too far back when he dropped it.
After that, I reset the race again and posted the Dodo Code on Twitter so anyone else could join. Dawn, Rhiannon, and Yadiel came over. The three of them, and Jet, participated in the last race of the night. Jet won easily, which isn’t surprising considering it was his third race and all of his opponents were new to the race. But congrats on the win regardless, Jet! 🙂
He won by such a large margin that I had to go back up to see what happened to everyone else! I wondered if they got lost! 😂 It is quite tricky on your first attempt though. Rhiannon finished next, so she was the winner of the new players that round. After the race, we took a group photo.
I then gave everyone a tour of my island. Even though Maria and Bran had been to my town multiple times before, the others had not. We went into some of the villagers’ homes to visit them, but that resulted in a lot of lag and loading times. But we also experienced some bad lag outdoors too, particularly at the campsite.
After excessively using our wands in Tia’s house, we took another group photo at Pumpkin Park.
Shortly after that, we concluded the tour. Jac showed us something in the museum, where the mischief emotion shows up as a square from a distance. Someone disconnected, so I quickly wrapped it up and said goodbye to everyone before anyone else could join in (since I was done for the night anyway).
Thanks to everyone who came tonight, it was fun! 🙂 See you next time, and have a good weekend!
Jolly Redd’s ship was in town yesterday, so I checked out his works of art he had for sale. He had an academic painting (looked fake), a dynamic painting (looked real), a quaint painting (looked fake), and an ancient statue (looked fake). Since the only real one was something I already had in the museum, I decided to buy the ancient statue just to use as a Halloween decoration! 😀
I had an empty plot in town yesterday, so I bought five Nook Miles tickets so that I could check out some mystery islands for potential new villagers. But on the very first island I visited, I found Bones! He’s my buddy from City Folk, and he also lived in my New Leaf town for most of 2018.
As a bone-us, his name is appropriate for Halloween! Even if there’s nothing scary about him, I was more than happy to invite Bones to my island. 🙂
Today, I received the ancient statue in the mail from Jolly Redd. Blathers confirmed that it was fake, but that’s okay. I’m really happy with it as a Halloween decoration, because it actually levitates and moves around when you go up to it and press the A button!
At town hall, I decided to make a new town tune. It’s supposed to be the Addams Family theme song, although I’m not 100% satisfied with it. The town tune options need a *snap fingers* sound. 😉
I found a lost item (a bag) on the ground today. When I investigated, it had some gym clothes inside. I knew it belonged to a jock, so I asked Tybalt about it. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong jock. It was Louie’s bag, and the big ape gave me an athletic jacket for returning it.
Gullivarrr was in town, so I went diving for his communicator. It actually took me four dives to find it this time. Gullivarrr will be sending me a piratey item in the mail tomorrow.
Bones was moved in today, although he has some unpacking to do. Welcome to Forest, Bones! 🙂
I found fleas jumping on Rizzo two separate times tonight, including this time when he was just curiously standing in flowers.
Later on, I found Wisp in town. I collected and returned his spirits, and he rewarded me with a blue subway-tile wall.
As for my online plans: First, there’s no Friday Night Forest this week. But instead, I’ll be hosting my Halloween race at some point this weekend. Saturday night is a strong possibility, but I’m not 100% sure yet. Check my Twitter on Saturday for details. When I’m ready, I’ll be inviting four people to join in via Dodo codes on Twitter, but friends will get the first chance.
After the race ends, I’ll be posting the Dodo code publicly on Twitter, so anyone can visit. I’ll stay on at least half an hour after the race ends.
And then next Friday, FNF will return with a Halloween party! I’ll try to have several activities planned: We can race on the Halloween course, we can have a costumed sumo tournament, and maybe I’ll come up with something else as well.
