Goodbye, Lopez

Able Sisters had a hockey mask for sale today, so you know I had to buy it. It’s my preferred mask for chasing people with axes.

Jeff tries on the hockey mask in Able Sisters.

Today was moving day for Lopez, so I went in his house to say goodbye. He was really nice about everything. Good luck to you, Lopez!

Lopez: Just remember, we're all in the same world, even if we're living on different islands.

There was a heavy meteor shower tonight, so I wished on a bunch of shooting stars. But more importantly, I ran into Celeste over on Candy Apple Lane!

Celeste: Would you care to watch nature's most beautiful performance with me?

At first, she wasn’t giving me any new recipes…but I eventually figured out it’s because my pockets were full. Once I made room, she gave me a recipe for a starry garland.

While working on my Halloween race course, I saw Tia taking a photo of a spooky arch with her phone! I didn’t realize they would do that, but that’s cool.

I later ran into C.J. up on the cliff, although I wasn’t particularly excited to see him. He was just here for the fishing tournament the other day, after all. He wanted me to catch three small-fry fish in a row. I caught two crucian carp and a horse mackerel to complete the challenge, but I didn’t check my storage for additional fish to sell him. If I have any, it’s no more than a couple anyway.

C.J.: ...Huh?! You caught 3 fish in a row? AND every one was a small fry?!

I also went around shaking trees, but I’ve noticed that I’ve only been finding one furniture item per day lately. It used to be two. I thought maybe I was missing a tree somewhere, but I went around town multiple times and I don’t think that’s the issue.

See you all next time!

Lo To Go!

Today, I spoke with Lopez and he wondered what was beyond the shimmering sea. He said he needed to find out, which meant that he was asking to move out! I told him to go, and he uttered this gem of a sentence that utilized his catchphrase perfectly.

Lopez: It's over between me and Forest, if I die.
You don’t say.

So he should be all packed up and ready to go tomorrow! He will be the first villager to move out since Shari left on July 14th! That’s basically three months!

Over on the beach, Tybalt asked me to play a treasure hunt game with him.

Tybalt: Treasure hunt! You should totally play a treasure-hunt game with me.

I agreed to play, and he gave me six minutes to find the treasure. It took me less than half of that time to find it; it was at the sumo ring.

I found treasure!

For winning the game, Tybalt gave me a jockey’s helmet.

Label was in town, and she wanted to see me in an “everyday” outfit. She gave me a sweater-vest as an example. I put it on, along with a denim cap…and I also remembered to remove my bat wings. 😛 Label loved it so much that she said it was amazing, and perfectly coordinated!

Label: Amazing! I've never seen an outfit so perfectly coordinated!

She gave me some Labelle pumps, and she’ll also be sending me a tailors ticket (or two) in the mail.

I had a new crop of pumpkins again today, so I used them to make more items I needed for my Halloween race. I worked on the race for a good while tonight, and I think it’s probably about 70% complete. I have the basic layout done and ground rules established. I’m just waiting on some items I ordered, and I’ll still need more pumpkins to craft everything I need.

Once I get everything I need, I’ll also want to check the course for balance. The race is not symmetrical, so I’ll need to do some test runs to make sure there’s not a significant advantage to playing on the left side vs. the right side.

There are bottlenecks on each side (where the first player on each side can squeeze ahead of the other), but I think that will be offset by some side paths which may be necessary or may be dead ends. Being first may not be an advantage if you go the wrong way, after all.

Anyway, it’s looking like this race may not be done until Friday (or later). I’ll keep you updated as the week goes on.

Silver HHA Trophy

The Happy Home Academy sent me my weekly score, and I topped 100,000 points for the first time! My exact score was 103,731.

About Jeff's home, 103,731 points. Rank S. Six digits! You've done it! On the occasion of earning a score above 100,000 points, please accept our congratulations and this special gift. -Happy Home Academy

My special gift was a silver HHA trophy; I put it in my trophy/exercise room that’s getting uncomfortably cluttered. 😛

My trophy room as of October 11, 2020.

Outside of town hall, I attended K.K.’s show (moved to Sunday because of the fishing tournament yesterday). He performed K.K. Fusion for me, Apple, and Lopez.

K.K. plays the guitar for Jeff, Apple, and Lopez.

I didn’t play as long today as I normally do, since it was already getting late by the time I started up the game. Able Sisters was already closed, and I only had about 15 minutes of playing before Nook’s Cranny closed too.

But even though I didn’t work on my town much today, Keaton seemed to notice the Halloween decorations around town. He’s a apparently a fan. 😉

Keaton: The whole island is starting to look like a Halloween paradise, and I am here for it, on a cliff!

I posted the latest Wi-Fi Moments video today, and I hope you’ll check it out. 🙂

See you all next time! Never Stop Crossing!
