Pirate Flooring

The Nooklings were paying 238 bells for turnips today, so I sold all that I had. I made sure not to leave any lying around my house this time. 😉 Timmy paid me 357,000 bells in total.

Timmy: And done! I can buy these from you for a total of 357,000 bells. Sound good?

One of today’s Nook Miles+ goals was to catch five fish, so I did just that. Surprisingly, three of the five were red snappers and one was a football fish! The other one was a sea bass, but that’s still a good ratio.

Gullivarrr sent me my reward in the mail, and it was some pirate flooring. It consists of many gold coins, along with some assorted jewels. Too bad I can’t swim in it like Scrooge McDuck. 😉

It didn’t take me long to find both of today’s items in trees. The 2nd tree I shook had a magic kit, and the 6th tree had a spinning wheel! And not only that, but the first rock I hit was the money rock! That was an efficient use of time today. 😛

Tia was in Rizzo’s house, and she kept pushing him around! 😂

I visited Agent S, and she apparently likes all the toys I’ve been giving her. She had four of them on display! That included the dinosaur, race track, puppy, and helicopter.

Agent S has several Toy Day toys on display in her house.

Jolly Redd was in town and he had a fake serene painting, a quaint painting that I believe is real, a mystic statue that I also think is real, and a beautiful statue that I had no idea about. I bought the quaint painting, but I also bought Redd’s two other non-art items. They were different color variations of the typewriter and diner neon sign that I didn’t already have.

I found a lost item (a bag that had a book in it), and I returned it to Midge. She thanked me and rewarded me with a quilted down jacket.

While I don’t intend on going all-out with Christmas decorations in town like I did for Halloween, I do still want to include a few festive areas and holiday puns. I have a few in mind already. Since Redd was in town, I thought it was a good time to put this one up.

Tis the season to be... JOLLY?

I’ll be showing more of my punny designs in the coming days. 😛 See you all next time!

Lunar Rover

Yesterday morning, I (very briefly) saw the first snowflakes of the season when I started up my Switch. But within seconds, the hourly chimes rang, and the snow stopped. I didn’t even have my capture software up and running yet, so I don’t have a screenshot. Hopefully I’ll get to properly see some snow fall in Forest soon!

Tonight, I was starstruck when I found Celeste in town! I was even happier when she taught me a D.I.Y. recipe for a lunar rover! I got some materials out of storage and made one for my space room upstairs. I like how it requires four old tires! Good thing I save all my trash in storage. 😂

Unfortunately, we can’t drive it around town. 😉
We can’t even sit in it!

In addition to the toys that Nook’s Cranny has been selling in December (such as the dollhouse today), I also noticed another holiday item for sale: a set of stockings.

Timmy: Seems like you're interested in a set of stockings.

I bought it for 2,000 bells and put it in my Turkey Day room. That room works well as a general holiday room, since the Turkey Day furniture isn’t really specific to Thanksgiving (or Franklin/turkeys).

I found Gullivarrr on the beach, but waaaay in the back of the eastern coast. Because he was behind the cliff, the camera shifted to an awkward, top-down angle when I spoke with him.

Gullivarrr: Arrr! I don't care if it's me turn to man the helm. Me nap time is me nap time... Zzz...

I went diving, and I found his communicator on my 4th dive. When I gave it back to him, he told me he’ll be sending me a gift in the mail tomorrow.

Midge asked me for a new catchphrase to replace “fly with me,” and I told her to say “with wings” instead.

My spoiled turnips finally bore fruit…well, not literally…but I used them to finally catch my first fly tonight!

I caught a fly! I was just wingin' it...

I donated it to the museum, and I only need four more bugs…and one of those is the dung beetle, which will be available in just a few days!

FYI, I do plan on hosting Friday Night Forest this week for people on my friend roster. It will be the first New Horizons FNF in the snow!

HHA 150k

Early this morning, I bought some turnips from Daisy Mae. Unfortunately, her price was a bit high his time, 105 bells per turnip. But I still bought 1,500 of them for 157,500 bells.

Daisy Mae: Alright, so 1,500 turnips comes to...157,500 bells. Does that sound OK to you?

After putting the turnips in my house, I checked the mail. The Happy Home Academy sent me my latest evaluation, and I met my goal: 150k! Well, 153,353 points to be exact. Yay! 😀

About Jeff's home, 153,353 points. Rank S. Wow. We're in awe of your score about 150,000 points. At this point, you should probably be rating US. Please accept this gift and our hearty congratulations. -Happy Home Academy

The gold HHA trophy was attached to the letter. I wasn’t sure where to display it, since I no longer had a trophy room. But I just put it in the bathroom for now. 😛

My bronze, silver, and gold HHA trophies.

There were no Nook Miles achievements earned, however. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I guess I thought there would be something else. 🤷

Later on, I checked out Nook’s Cranny for the latest toy. They had a kids’ tent for sale today. I bought a couple for gifts, but I also bought one for the campsite! I made the cliff a bit bigger to fit the tent on the left side, and I also added a campfire.

A new kids' tent erected at the campsite.

I may end up removing this area once I make another obstacle course or race, but I think it makes for a cute addition to the area in the meantime.

Able Sisters had a tiger jacket, and I thought it would look good on Tybalt. So I bought it for him; what do you think?

I think it looks grrrrreat!

I found a lost item (a book) near my fountains. When I investigated, it just said “My Journal” on it, which wasn’t much of a hint. I asked Keaton about it (just because he was the first one I saw after finding it), and he told me it looked like Midge’s book. So I returned it to Midge, and she rewarded me with a zap suit. How shocking. âš¡

Midge: I'm hoping you can use a zap suit.

At the top of Candy Cane Lane, I found Wisp around 9:30 p.m. I had recently read somewhere (on a forum) that Wisp only appears after 10 p.m., so that clearly isn’t true.

Wisp: AAIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!

When I went shaking trees to find furniture items, I found both items up on Eagle Mountain, not far from each other. What’s even more interesting is that the two items were a coffee cup, and a mug! I guess those two trees had a lot in common. Or maybe they were just sharing some coffee until I rudely came along and shook their cups out of their branches. ☕☕

I eventually found all of Wisp’s spirits, and he rewarded me with a pink-crown wall.

Before wrapping up my night, I wished on several shooting stars and did a little fishing. I didn’t catch anything new, though. See you all next time!
