Festivale Reactions Available!

Yesterday, Bones asked me to make a delivery to Tybalt. The gift was a lawn mower, and Tybalt had a surprising reaction to it.

Tybalt: A lawn mower! My life is complete!
Really? You are aware the grass here never grows, right?

As a reward, Tybalt gave me an orange. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the first time I’ve received a foreign fruit from a villager…although I did get some peaches in a letter from Mom before, early in the game.

Today, Hornsby sent me a letter asking if I liked artsy stuff. It didn’t even register in my brain that he was sending me a work of art until I actually opened the attachment. It was a basic painting, and I excitedly rushed it over to the museum. Blathers informed me that it was authentic! Wow! Thanks, Hornsby! πŸ˜€

Now that February is here, the game is gearing up for Festivale. Nook’s Cranny will carry some Festivale items, including this stall that I bought today.

Tommy: Seems like you're interested in a Festivale stall.

Tommy also informed me that there is a collection of new Festivale reactions available in the cabinet, so I bought that as well. It cost a whopping 19,800 bells, but it gives you four reactions: confetti, viva, let’s go (which lets us hop on one foot), and “feelin’ it.” I think confetti is my favorite of the bunch.

Able Sisters also has some sparkly Festivale costumes you can buy.

Although I ended up buying an ogre costume instead. πŸ˜€

Nook Shopping also has two new items for Valentine’s Day that you can order: a chocolate heart and a heart-shaped bouquet.

Gulliver was washed up on the beach, and I collected his five communicator parts and returned them to him. What ugly hat will he send me this time? Find out in the next entry. πŸ˜›

Friga the snooty penguin was camping at the campsite. As far as snooty villagers go, Friga isn’t bad. I considered letting her move in but only if she chose to replace Rizzo. However, I kept losing her games (six times in a row), and I just gave up.

Friga: Oh, thank you for stopping by. I don't believe we've met. I'm Friga.

If it was a snooty that I really liked (such as Ankha, Purrl, or Opal), I would have kept trying. But Friga isn’t worth playing half an hour’s worth of guessing games for a 10% chance she’ll want to replace Rizzo. πŸ˜›

After cutting some wood from trees, I completed the final “Rough-hewn” goal. I earned 3,000 Nook Miles for chopping 5,000 chunks of wood from trees.

A few trees later, I caught a wasp for my 4,000th bug! It doesn’t earn me any miles (until I hit 5,000), but I have been keeping an eye on my bug count when I saw I was getting close to 4k.

Speaking of bugs, I’ve noticed that dung beetles sell for 3,000 bells…that’s more than wasps! So I’ve decided to start saving my dung beetles for when Flick visits.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, here is my holiday movie-based obstacle course video. I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Friga is a favorite of mine, but sadly her house in New Horizons leaves a lot to be desired, which is a shame as most of the other penguins have spectacular houses, especially Aurora and Wade.

  2. Did you only play games with Friga for the chance of her to move in? Because you don’t have to play those where she offers her worthless stuff if you win. I didn’t know that before, thought I had to play every game, and it saved me a bunch of time

    1. I mostly turned down the games for items, though I did play a couple (and won at least once). But when I said I lost six in a row, that was just counting the games for her to move in.

  3. If you close and re-open the game before it gets the chance to auto save, you can change which villager the camper will want to replace.
