A Passing Vacation

Yesterday, I received my Luigi outfit in the mail, so I decided to wear it for a day.

Olivia was camping at the campsite, and she looks a lot better in New Horizons than she did in the older games.

Luigi (Jeff) visits Olivia at the Forest campsite.

But still, she was one of my enemies in the early days of my GameCube town and I’m still holding a bit of a grudge. 😛 So I didn’t invite her to town, although I will admit she’s much better than her one-time GameCube Forest counterpart Monique.

When I visited Midge, she said she should have made some French toast in advance. But she didn’t capitalize the “F” in French!

Midge: I wish I had some treats to offer you. I probably should have made french toast in advance...

I ran into Tia outside, and she complimented my use of makeup? What makeup? Is she mistaking the Luigi ‘stache for makeup? Or my dyed green hair? Neither of those qualifies as makeup, so I’m a shade confused. 😛

Tia: I think the way you're using that makeup might just start a neat trend, burrito.

Today, Able Sisters had the shamrock outfit for sale: hat, shoes, and suit. I like the look of it, and I bought the full outfit…even though I decided to leave it in storage for now. This is Mohawk McClover season for me. Sorry, leprechauns.

Shamrock items are also available through Nook Shopping now too, although again, only one is available each day.

Agent S was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for her at the store. Once she took a dose, she started to feel better. She thanked me by giving me a rainbow sweater.

Nearby, I wanted to place a shell fountain near a bend in the river. But because it’s 1.5 spaces wide, I could not center it where I wanted it. It didn’t look right, no matter what I tried. So I just put in some small cliffs and waterfalls instead.

New cliffs and waterfalls.

I’m not totally happy with it, so I may change it again soon. But I’ll leave it up for the moment.

Label was the plaza for the umpteenth time, still wanting to see me in a “vacation” outfit. She gave me a top coat, and I paired it with a skateboarding helmet, soccer shorts, and moccasin boots. To my surprise, she loved the look! Yes, this look! 😂

Jeff wears a vacation look while standing near Label and Bones.

Finally! I’ve been trying so many different combinations lately (most of them I didn’t even mention in the blog) and nothing has worked. So it’s a big relief to finally get this done! My pockets were full, so she said she’ll mail my reward to me.

It’s clear that my obstacle course is not going to be done this week…so again, there will be no Friday Night Forest this week. Sorry, but these things always take longer than I hope. Depending on when I finish it, I might open one day next week just for the race.

And then I do plan on opening next Saturday night (March 20th) for the game’s one-year anniversary. The time is to be announced. Check the blog next week for more info.

Sit-Ups For Stars

Hornsby sent me some mail yesterday, but it was different from most letters: It was a riddle! He sent me an onion joke.

Guess what, burrito? It's time for a riddle! What did the cake say while cutting an onion? I'm in tiers! -From Hornsby

Apple mentioned she was thinking about moving out of town. But I asked her to stay, and she agreed.

When I visited Tia, she told me that she loves her desert outfit. Apparently it makes her feel famous? Does she get mistaken for Aladdin, or what? 😛

Tia: I feel famous, you know? Like anyone could interrupt my teatime at any moment to ask for an autograph.

In addition to more Mario items, I also ordered and received my pi pie. I then proceeded to eat 3.14 pieces of it. 😉

Today, C. J. was in town with another seasports challenge for me: He wanted me to catch three small-fry fish in a row. So I caught a crucian carp, a loach, and a bitterling to complete the challenge.

C.J.: ...Huh?! You caught 3 fish in a row? AND every one was a small fry?!
It’s really not that shocking, man.

I later grabbed a bunch of fish out of storage and sold them for more than 270,000 bells.

Tybalt was saying that he likes counting stars in the sky, and he does a sit-up for each star he sees.

Tybalt: Ever tried counting the stars? I like to do one sit-up for every one I see. Some nights, I'll do hundreds!
I bet you feel astronomically tired after all that!

My villagers have been telling me that Midge’s birthday is coming up on the 12th, which is Friday. Hmm, I wonder what to get her.

See you all next time!

Brain Juice

I received my latest gift from Gulliver in the mail today; he sent me a Statue of Liberty. And yes, I switched back to my Mohawk McClover getup after dressing like Mario yesterday.

Over on the beach, I relaxed on a hammock as Apollo started singing to me! Well, he was facing out towards the ocean, so maybe he wasn’t singing to me…but I appreciated it all the same. Nice eagle!

Apollo sings a song on the beach.

But Apollo wasn’t the only singer in town tonight: K.K. Slider was at the plaza, and I asked him to play a random song. He performed Lucky K.K. for me, Apple, and Louie.

Later on, I spoke with Hornsby. He told me he had some coffee and he was wide awake (but he said it in all caps). 😛

Hornsby: Hiya, burrito! I had some coffee and now I am WIDE AWAKE! It's like I drank brain juice!

Wait, it’s like brain juice? Hornsby is a zombie, confirmed! 😱

There was a light meteor shower tonight, so I wished on a few shooting stars. But unfortunately, there was no sign of Celeste anywhere on the island.

Have a good night, and I’ll see you all next time!
