The spring fishing tournament was held today, and many of my villagers were standing near the river, trying to fish. All while wearing their fishing hats, of course. 😛
I wasted no time, and started competing right away. I played a total of eight rounds, scoring 7, 6, 8, 8, 9, 7, 7, and 9 points. I did not use any fish bait.
After my 7th round, C.J. informed me that I had accumulated a total of over 200 points combined. He will be sending me a prize in the mail.
But more importantly, I caught three new fish that I needed for the museum! That included the neon tetra, pop-eyed goldfish, and a guppy!
Once I was done, I redeemed most of my 62 points for prizes. I scored an anchor statue, two fish umbrellas, two tackle bags, and a fish doorplate.
Later on, I went diving and found a scallop. I gave it to Pascal, who said that an octopus having eight arms means they get eight ice cream cones?
I’m not sure why they would get eight ice cream cones, though. It would still just have one mouth. I guess I’ll have to just take Pascal’s word for it. Maybe he knows more octopi than I do.
When I ran into Hornsby (while I was holding a net), he said that he’s always known bug-catching was the hobby for me. He’s seen other people who he thought shouldn’t be using a net at all. 😛
K.K. Slider was not in town tonight because of the tournament. I imagine he’ll be in town tomorrow night instead.
Update: After a couple hours of listening for balloon presents and shooting many of them down, I finally got one more cherry blossom recipe, for the cherry-blossom umbrella. 🌸
