Rizzo News!

Rizzo was walking around with a thought bubble over his head today, so I quickly walked over to check things out. We had a great talk! He said he was thinking about moving out! And of course, I told him to go for it! YES! I’ve been waiting a year for this!

Rizzo: Livin' on this island ain't bad, but I've been thinkin' I might just pull up stakes here and move.

Later, Apple was singing to Rizzo and Apollo at the plaza. Rizzo mentioned that some people probably won’t mind seeing him go (that would be me), but he said most people won’t forget him. That’s true. We may try, but we’ll be haunted by these memories for a long time to come. 😂

Rizzo: Still, most probably won't forget ol' Rizzo was on this island with 'em for a while. Gahaha!

I paid 50,000 bells to move the campsite (again). It will now be closer to the waterfall and pond. This will give me space to add a new incline. I’m still not 100% sure how this is all going to turn out, but I’m just taking the renovation one step at a time.

The latest game update went live tonight, so I downloaded it and started up my game. Surprisingly, there was no letter or gift for downloading the update, like there usually is. In fact, I didn’t see anything different initially, but then I checked the seasonal items. A carp banner and newsprint helmet are now available, so order them while you can!

Carp banner: 5,500 bells.

It’s a very minimal update. It actually reminds me of City Folk and New Leaf, where we’d get 1-2 downloadable items each month…and that’s it. Sure, there will be a different May Day maze this year, but a slightly different returning event isn’t exactly what any of us have been hoping for.

But I’m not going to let that bring me down too much. Rizzo is finally leaving, and I’m happy about that. I’m also excited to see which new villager I’ll be getting in the coming days.

I posted New Horizons Moments #7 today. I hope you enjoy it!

See you all next time! 🙂

Museum on the Move

Yesterday, Maddie the dog was camping at the campsite. I’m actually not very familiar with her, although I did get her card in my first pack of Welcome Amiibo cards back in 2016. She is a cute dog, but I don’t need another peppy villager right now; two is enough. 😛

Maddie: I'm so jelly of everyone who lives here full-time! let's hang out while I'm here, yippee. It'll be fun!
She’s “jelly,” and she’s holding a donut.

Apollo’s house was successfully moved to its new location, and he was still hanging out around the work site. Immediately after I chopped down a tree, he plopped down on the stump.

Apollo sits on a tree stump.

Once I had the area cleared, I paid another 50,000 bells to move the museum. It’s funny that moving the museum is the same cost as moving a one-room house; just think of all the exhibits inside!

Today, the museum was fully moved. It’s now in the northwest corner of my town, just like in City Folk Forest! I took that concept further by making a City Folk-style path leading up to the museum, and gold roses alongside the path.

The entrance to my newly-moved museum.

Apollo’s house is a bit too close to the museum, but I’ll leave it there for now. I still haven’t made any changes to the inclines or paths in this area, but it’s something on my mental to-do list for another day.

C.J. was in town with another seasports challenge for me. He wanted me to catch three small-fry fish in a row. I caught a loach, crucian carp, and freshwater goby to complete the challenge. I sold those fish back to C.J. (for 1,440 bells), but I didn’t bother going home to get fish out of storage.

Look for New Horizons Moments #7 in the next day or two!

Rearranging Eagle Mountain

I received my latest reward from Gullivarrr in the mail today, and it was a pirate bandanna. I’ve received a black one of these before, but this one was blue. It’s not bad, but I typically prefer furniture over clothing items.

Trying on the blue pirate bandanna.

Agent S was sitting on the chair next to her house, enjoying a donut. Well, I guess she was enjoying it; I’m not sure what this expression was all about. 😛

I attended K.K. Slider’s show at the plaza, and he played K.K. Lament for me and Louie.

K.K.: Right on. I'm tuned up and ready to roll. Who's in the mood for a little K.K. Lament?

Unfortunately, the hangout at a friend’s town that I was planning on attending tonight was canceled. But I used the time to think about some upcoming changes to my island. When you’re in a New Horizons lull, nothing can snap you out of it like some new island redecorating ideas.

I’ve been thinking about making a fairly significant change: Moving the museum. I want to put it in the northwest corner of town, up on Eagle Mountain. Its current spot is some prime real estate that’s right near the airport (and in the flyover area). Even though I don’t have any specific ideas of what to put there, I could (possibly) use it for a seasonal display, or maybe just something different each time I open my gate.

But if I put the museum where I wanted it, Apollo’s house would be right in front of it…and that’s no good. So I paid the 50,000 bells to move Apollo’s house. He’ll still be on Eagle Mountain, but he’ll be a bit further east, near the pond and waterfall. Here you can see Apollo’s house, Apollo’s new plot…and Apollo himself, also enjoying a donut. 😂

I may also end up moving the campsite too, especially if I add a more convenient ramp going up to the museum. But I’ll keep you updated in future posts.
