Silver Fish Trophy

Yesterday, C.J. sent me a letter congratulating me for accumulating 200 points in the fishing tournament(s) so far.

Fishionista Jeff, Everyone's babblin' about the way you schooled the Fishing Tourney. Seriously? 200 net points? You're like a rising tide! I say this trophy absolutely belongs on your shores. Congratulations! Easy breezy, huh? -C.J.

He included the silver fish trophy, and I put it in my house where it will stay nice and wet. Can’t have it drying out! 😛

K.K. Slider was in town for his rescheduled concert, so I headed over to the Apollo plaza once it was showtime. 😉

Apollo: It's showtime!!

K.K. performed K.K. Tango for me, Apollo, Rizzo, Louie, and Midge.

Today, Midge sent me a letter talking about clocks. She said that she likes to keep two of them around, so that if one stops, she still has the other one. So she sent me a clock so that I can use it as a backup. But I opened up the package, and it was an hourglass! I might have a little trouble telling time on an hourglass. 🤦

Agent S was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for her. She took it, and she started to feel better. She rewarded me by giving me a heart… apron. 😛

Agent S: I want to thank you. So, here's a heart
I was pumped to receive this! Nothing beats it! 💙

Jolly Redd was in town, and I bought a twinkling painting from him.

When I visited Rizzo, he was talking about his garbage can. He said he didn’t really want it at first, but now he admits that it screams “Rizzo!” Sounds like he’s admitting he’s trash. 🗑️😆

Rizzo: Now I can't imagine this place without! Just helps it all scream Rizzo a bit louder.

Louie asked about moving out of town, but I told him to stick around.

Trivia: Five of my ten villagers (Louie, Midge, Agent S, Rizzo, and Tia) have now lived in Forest for over a year. Obviously, Rizzo is the one I want to get rid of. But if Midge asked to go first, I think I would likely let her go. I definitely like Midge, but she’s not in my top tier of villagers. And I’d say a 1-year+ stay in town is more than sufficient for someone who’s not one of my top favorites (or a starter).

See you all next time!

Spring Fishing Tourney 2021

The spring fishing tournament was held today, and many of my villagers were standing near the river, trying to fish. All while wearing their fishing hats, of course. 😛

Louie and Tia fish in the river.

I wasted no time, and started competing right away. I played a total of eight rounds, scoring 7, 6, 8, 8, 9, 7, 7, and 9 points. I did not use any fish bait.

After my 7th round, C.J. informed me that I had accumulated a total of over 200 points combined. He will be sending me a prize in the mail.

C.J.: You've hooked a fishing tourney net total of over 200 points. You're like a tidal force out there!

But more importantly, I caught three new fish that I needed for the museum! That included the neon tetra, pop-eyed goldfish, and a guppy!

I caught a guppy! Gotta keep this up!

Once I was done, I redeemed most of my 62 points for prizes. I scored an anchor statue, two fish umbrellas, two tackle bags, and a fish doorplate.

Later on, I went diving and found a scallop. I gave it to Pascal, who said that an octopus having eight arms means they get eight ice cream cones?

Pascal: Octopuses have eight arms. You know what that means? Eight. Ice Cream. Cones.

I’m not sure why they would get eight ice cream cones, though. It would still just have one mouth. I guess I’ll have to just take Pascal’s word for it. Maybe he knows more octopi than I do.

When I ran into Hornsby (while I was holding a net), he said that he’s always known bug-catching was the hobby for me. He’s seen other people who he thought shouldn’t be using a net at all. 😛

Hornsby: I've seen folks with nets and said, Who game them a net? Somebody take that thing away! True story.

K.K. Slider was not in town tonight because of the tournament. I imagine he’ll be in town tomorrow night instead.

Update: After a couple hours of listening for balloon presents and shooting many of them down, I finally got one more cherry blossom recipe, for the cherry-blossom umbrella. 🌸

Apollo’s Photo

Saharah was in town today, and I decided to buy everything she had (except for the small rug). She sold me a fossil rug, red argyle rug, sky wall, and rocky-mountain flooring. I ended up keeping all of them, and I particularly liked the fossil rug.

The fossil rug in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH).
I just wish there was a pitfall seed rug!

One of my Nook Miles+ goals was to dive for three sea creatures, so I decided to do that right away. But two of my first three dives yielded pearls! Not from Pascal, but pearls right from the sea. Those are usually pretty rare. But they don’t count as sea creatures, so I had to make five dives to complete that task. 😛

JeabNS submitted a new cap pattern, in honor of Forest, for my designs page. The code is MO-0QRV-3MP4-8592 if you’re interested. Thanks, JeabNS!

I bought a throwback skull radio at Nook’s Cranny, wrapped it up, and gave it to Apollo as a gift. He liked it so much that he gave me his photo!!! What?!

Apollo: Let me thank you! Apollo's photo! Enjoy!

He’s only been in town for about 7 weeks, so I’m quite surprised that I earned his photo already! But I will gladly accept it! 😛 I put it in my house to take a look at it, and his favorite quote is “What goes up must come down.”

That’s my 12th villager photo overall, and I put it up on my wall with the others. Thanks, Apollo!

My 12 villager photos so far.

I walked over to the beach to listen for balloon presents as I worked on my site and wrote most of this blog entry. One of the balloons I popped gave me a DIY recipe for a blossom-viewing lantern. This is just my 2nd cherry blossom recipe of the year.

SWEET! I learned a DIY recipe for a blossom-viewing lantern!

Reminder: No Friday Night Forest tonight, but I will be back with another blog entry tomorrow for the fishing tournament. See you then! Have a good weekend! 🙂
