Art from Apollo

Yesterday, I did some early-afternoon fishing…but I didn’t catch anything new. I also cleaned up lots of unwanted flowers, buried a few pitfall seeds, and then updated my dream. Head on over to dream address 6717-1633-3682 if you’d like to see the updated version of Forest!

Today, I was quite surprised to see that Apollo sent me a tremendous statue in the mail! I’ve never even seen this one at Jolly Redd’s shop before!

The (fake) tremendous statue.

Unfortunately, Blathers informed me that it was a forgery. But at least now I have a photo of the fake one for comparison purposes in the future. (Note for anyone who may be new to the blog: I don’t use external guides for help, but I do take my own screenshots to compare them to what Redd sells.)

There was a camper at the campsite, so I went in the tent to meet Hans the gorilla…who looks like a yeti. While I like the idea of having an abominable snowman around, seeing Hans in person quickly turned me against the idea of asking him to move in. He’s like an ugly, overgrown Smurf with a pig snout nose.

Hans: Ahoy. Hans is my name, and traveling, reading novels, and dance are my passions three.

Flick was in town today, so I grabbed the seven bugs I had in storage, and sold them for 36,750 bells.

At the campsite, I made some more minor changes. I extended the cliff a bit, which moved the waterfall closer to the campsite.

A current look at my campsite area.

Ideally, I’d like to add a bridge at the top…but I’ve already used all eight of my bridges allotted. For now, I added a space of land to hop across. But I’m still not quite happy with this, so I may end up changing it again.

I wished on several shooting stars tonight, but there was no sign of Celeste in town. It’s been a while since I’ve seen her.

I made a playlist of my obstacle course videos, so you can quickly find them all in one place: Obstacle Courses. I already have an idea what I want to do with the next one, but I’ll keep my Mario race up for a few more weeks at least.

Hornsby’s Roommate

I received my latest reward from Gullivarrr in the mail, and it was a pirate dress. Even though I’ve received one of these before, this one was a different color (red).

The pirate dress (red) in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

When I visited Hornsby, he was talking about his pet ant. Not only is it the cutest ant that he’s ever seen, but the ant is apparently a great roommate who always pays his share of the rent on-time. Or so Hornsby says. 😛

Hornsby: He's actually the best roommate I've ever had. Hasn't been late with his rent check once, schnozzle!

There was a lost item (a book) on the ground in the amusement park. It was a difficult novel that a voracious reader would have…so I figured it belonged to a normal villager.

I picked up a lost item!

I asked Tia about it, and she told me it belonged to Midge. I took it over to Midge (who was standing on Rainbow Road), and she rewarded me with an apron. Oh joy. 😛

K.K. Slider was in town for his Saturday night show, and he performed K.K. Synth for me and Apple.

K.K. Slider performs for Apple and Jeff.

K.K. Synth is one of those songs that I like on the stereo (aircheck version), but not so much when performed live.

Agent S wasn’t at the show, but she told me that she really wanted to ask K.K. for his autograph.

Agent S: Next time I see him live, I am SO TOTES going to ask for an autograph!

She has some catching up to do, since her peppy rival Apple already has seven autographs from him. 😛

I decided to move my garbage pail, which had been next to Rizzo’s/Eloise’s house. I considered putting it in Peach Park, but I ultimately decided to put it at the amusement park instead.

If it’s not raining in my town tomorrow, I’m going to try to update my dream then. So you all can meet Eloise and see any changes I’ve made to my town since the last update.

Snooty Thought, FNF

Gullivarrr was in town today, so I went diving to find his communicator. I got it on my first try, and he will be sending me a reward in the mail tomorrow.

Eloise surprised me by teaching me a new reaction today: She taught me “thought.” It’s nice that I can finally use my brain to think!

I learned the Thought Reaction! Hmm... Let's see here...

Even though I knew I still needed a couple of snooty reactions, I didn’t think I would learn one this soon. It’s only been a week since Eloise arrived in town. I still need to earn Eloise’s “love” though, and that one is likely to take a while. 😛 ❤️

I recently finished up my new “Welcome to Forest” sign that I mentioned the other day. I placed it so that visitors can see it during the flyover, before their plane lands. How do you like it?

Welcome to Forest! Now 100% rat-free!

About 10:02, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. I was quite surprised to see that nobody came…until six minutes later, when Bran arrived. A couple minutes later, Timo also joined in. We performed some music in my house and then the two of them raced each other on my Mario obstacle course. (Timo won.)

Timo sits on a celebratory fountain firework after winning the race.

I took them to meet Eloise, and we visited a couple other villagers as well. I then suggested a diving competition. After getting my timer out of storage, I set it for ten minutes and we began. I had 15 catches with 3:20 left on the timer when Alex from Pawnee came over. I finished with 18 catches, but Bran won the competition with 20. Congrats, Bran!

Time's up! Jeff: 18. Timo: 15. Alex: 0. Bran: 20.

Just before 11:00, Xavier came over. We hung out on Rainbow Road and chased the ghosts of Timo and Alex (who jumped off Rainbow Road), and I showed everyone my new museum location.

The museum entrance.

We visited Apollo and shined a light in his eyes. Soon after that, people began disappearing…at oddly regular intervals.

  • 11:30: Bran left for the night.
  • 11:40: Alex disconnected and didn’t return.
  • 11:50: Timo quietly left.

Xavier and I were the only ones left, and we watched the fountains squirt up at midnight, with town hall’s eerie silhouette in the background.

The fountains spray water high into the air.

A few minutes later, I ended the session. Thank you to everyone who came! It was fun! 🙂
